Chapter 51 - Chapter 51. Bertha

"Haaaa, haaaa, haaaa" Sweat dripping down her short hair, Bertha pursued her target. Taking out a coin, she glanced at it before frowning, time was burning. Popping a speed fostering pill, she moved with everything she had.

"Dumb fucking team, haaaaaa, haaaa, why can this thing move so fast?" Irritation building, she gained on the infant gorilla with hazel fur. The infant twisted and turned with speed she could barely keep up with. From traversing trees, to hopping over objects, to sliding beneath things, the game of tag looked interesting from afar.

Gaining on the little bugger, Bertha went in for the grab.

"Gotcha you shitter. You've been a real pain in the ass to follow. You know how long I had to stalk ya."

Though a baby, the infant squirmed around in her beefy arms only to be stopped by a drop of special liquid that was poured on his head. The infant slowly fell into peaceful rest.

"Damn that took forever. Lucked out on the parents not....." Bertha's head turned as a confused look filled her face.

"Why the heck does this guy have wings, and a vulture's beak. Fuck.... this isn't a damn divine chimp. Otto fucking owes me one.... whatever, as long as this guy matches my qualities. "

Looking at the little guy's stats she wasn't particularly impressed but beggars couldn't be choosers. She had a deadline to meet. "Lets get this over with fur ball."

Pressing her forehead against the infant's they both appeared in the mind bridge. The ape was quietly staring at her as she approached.

"Hey you, stop gazing off into space and focus." Standing before the nervous but stoic looking infant she softly caressed his head.

"You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours." The infant grew comfortable in her embrace and a bond became established.
