Chapter 1 - Ball Scene

I walk into the room, all of the eyes instantly on me for some reason. But I only have eyes for him. He looks up at the exact moment I start to walk towards him and it's obvious he gapes at me. It's very funny, because I kind of wore the dress just for him and him alone. I wanted him to finally notice me, not as his best friends little sister but as someone who might be able to date and one day love him. I blush when our eyes meet. He smiles down at me, from his towering height above me. I like that he's taller than me, even though I pretend to get annoyed when he can reach things and I can't.

"You look beautiful." He says to me. I can see a faint blush forming on his cheek and I smile in response.

"Thanks, your not too bad yourself." I smile, the blush now really apparent on his face.

"Thanks... Wanna dance?" He looks down at the ground, almost as if he's worried I'll say no to him. I reach up to make him look at my face and lean in to kiss him on the lips. Our lips touch for just a second and he pulls away. "I'll take that as a yes to the dance?" He says, laughing a little now.

"Sorry I forgot to say yes. But of course I'll dance with you h/n." His smile almost blinds me. It makes me so happy to see him happy.

We walk towards the dance floor, and on the way, I spot my brother on the dance floor with some random girl I've never met before. He spots us, almost waves but then spots our joined hands and gives h/n a look that would make anyone else run away and hide. But h/n has learned that the look doesn't mean anything and my brother won't do anything to h/n. We take our spot a few couples away from my brother and a new song comes on, so we start dancing to the music.

We go quiet for a few minutes, then he speaks. "Hey wanna get out of here and hang out some where other than this stupid party?" I look up at his face, sees the smile and nods to him. He reaches for my hand, locking it in his own and starts running for the exit of the ballroom. I smile at him as we run across the room, dodging could be conversations and running down the stairs. Eventually, I get tired, so he picks me up bridal style and continues the rest of the way like that. If I could look at us from afar, I would be thinking we were a very cute couple.
