A forest. A large ecosystem that is practically a world of its own. Laying in the middle of a forest was a black-haired girl. If someone were to stumble upon her, they might have bad intentions due to her beauty. The forest continued to work and soon the girl woke up. The first thing her jade green eyes spotted was the blue sky.
"Where the hell am I?" The girl asked herself. She took a look at her hands and touched her face.
"I-I'm alive?" The girl looked around once again and spotted a huge red scythe at her side. She picked up the scythe and saw her face in the reflection of the red blade.
"I'm not me?" The girl was confused at her new face and she began to recollect on her past life.
"My name is Kali Roseli and I should be dead..." Kali told herself in a whisper.
"Perhaps this is a dream caused by my brain's final moments."
"No, that isn't plausible and I can't accept an answer like that. As evidenced by my new body, it seems I have been reincarnated." Kali stood up and looked at her reflection once again.
"At least I'm beautiful, the freckles and green eyes create a nice picture."
Kali stopped looking at her reflection and looked up at the sky.
"Whoever reincarnated me gave me a second chance. I won't allow my life to be as bleak and unfulfilling as the last one!" Kali strengthened her resolve as her hands tightly gripped the scythe in her hands. Kali got up and picked a random direction.
'I need to leave this forest, I'm getting a very bad vibe.'
Kali walked through the forest and took note of a couple of plants and animals that looked similar but at the same time so different. For instance, Kali thought she saw a regular deer but then once it saw Kali it bursted into blue particles. That specific encounter left Kali very confused. Kali shook herself out of her thoughts when she heard the sounds of feeding.
Crunch!
'Whatever is eating I don't wanna mess with them.' Kali tried walking past the sounds very quietly and tried masking her footsteps with the sounds of crunching bones. Kali walked past the sounds and thought she was in the clear until she heard a loud growl.
Roar!
Kali turned around and a large white tiger was staring at Kali with bloodlust. Kali was shocked at the tiger's sudden appearance and fell on her butt. The tiger looked at Kali and thought of her as another meal.
Roar!
The tiger charged Kali with speeds that a tiger shouldn't be able to reach. Kali quickly got out of her stupor and got up. She held her scythe in a defensive stance and the tiger's paw made contact with the blade.
'Shit!' Kali was overpowered and sent sliding across the soil. Kali used her scythe as a brake and she felt an overwhelming sense of danger above her, causing her to instinctively react and block with her scythe.
Clang!
The tiger's razor-sharp claws clashed with Kali's red scythe and the two enemies were at a stalemate. Kali struggled under the tiger's overwhelming strength but suddenly, she felt a wave of strength fill every fiber of her being. Kali overpowered the tiger and flung it into a nearby tree.
'Now!' Kali sprinted forward with her scythe overhead.
Shlink!
Kali's scythe blade went through the tiger's neck like butter and its head was removed from it's body. Kali dropped to her knees and began to heavily pant.
"Why do I feel like I ran a marathon with weights on?!" Kali asked herself in anger. Kali continued to pant for a couple of minutes before standing up. Kali looked up and noticed the sun beginning to set.
"I'm going to need some sort of shelter for tonight."
Rumble.
"And some food perhaps." Kali's cheeks were slightly red despite no one being around to hear the rumble of her stomach. Kali looked at the tiger's corpse and sighed.
"Hunting for another animal would be ideal but," Kali remembered the encounter with the disappearing deer, "That would take forever, especially with the animals around here."
Kali sighed once again and began looking for firewood.
"This forest is beautiful." Kali picked up a rose glistening in the sunset. Kali went to sniff the rose but felt the same sense of danger as when she fought the tiger. Kali instinctively backed away and the rose turned into a large plant creature with a sectioned mouth filled with hundreds of serrated teeth.
'Damn it! I should've brought my scythe!' Kali mentally relented as she ducked under a large serrated vine coming for her head. Kali backflipped away and created a nice distance between her and the creature.
Skreee!!
The creature launched multiple vines at Kali. Kali dodged a few but the numbers were overwhelming especially for an inexperienced person such as Kali. The vines surrounded Kali, and she felt the world move in slow motion.
"Looks like this is the end. I can't possibly dodge all of these vines." Kali looked ahead with indifference.
"Maybe I'll be reincarnated again?"
Kali closed her eyes and awaited death but in the far reaches of her mind, she swore she could've heard the faint yelling of a small child.
'W-Wait!' Kali heard the yelling get louder in her head and when she opened her eyes again her red scythe was in her hands.
The confusion on Kali's face was brief and was replaced by a grin.
"I guess death can wait a little longer!"
The world in Kali's eyes returned to normal speed and she quickly began cutting down the vines coming towards her. The speed in which Kali moved her scythe made it seem like a red storm was being born.
Kali cut down all of the creature's vines and it was enraged once again.
SKREEE!!!
The creature decided to take matters into its own hands and leaped forward. Kali leaped forward as well and swiped her scythe. The two enemies soon landed on the ground but one of them was cut in half.
S-Skree?
The creature looked down and its legs were missing. When it looked up at Kali, the image of a large shadowy monster appeared in its vision.
"There's always a bigger fish." Kali decapitated the creature and sighed heavily.
"I really need to get out of this forest!"
Kali's search for firewood wasn't long as the creature she killed dried up and made for perfect firewood...kinda.
"WHY IS THE FIRE PINK!?" Kali was fed up with the forest she was in and wanted to just go to sleep but her stomach said otherwise.
"I hate this place." Kali grumbled under her breath as she skinned the tiger as neatly as she could with a giant scythe. After 30 minutes of struggle Kali manage to skin the tiger of its fur.
"Thank goodness! I can finally eat now!" Kali began cutting the tiger into large chunks and placing them on wooden sticks above the fire.
While the tiger meat was cooking, Kali began to question what the voice was and how her scythe appeared in her hands.
"Can you talk?" Kali asked her scythe that was laying on her lap. Kali got no answer and laughed.
"Of course, it can't talk I was in a life or death situation, that was my mind playing tricks on me." Kali laughed but that didn't explain how it appeared in her hands.
Kali shrugged and took a stick of tiger meat off the pink fire.
"Let's eat!" Kali took a huge bite out of the tiger meat and almost moaned due to its amazing taste. Every bite Kali took she felt a wave of warmth enter her body and maybe even her soul.
Before Kali knew it, she had eaten all six sticks of tiger meat. Keep in mind these chunks were the size of small logs. Kali sighed and laid on the tiger's fur. She brought her scythe close to her and slowly began to dose off.
"Goodnight Aima." Kali said to her scythe as she finally fell asleep.
Aima began to glow red in the moonlight.
'Goodnight...master.'
