Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

"Heh, that was fun." I said with a smile as I exited the Danger Room with Laura by my side. I didn't even care what the rest of the students who were watching us were thinking anymore, simply letting go and smashing stuff was far more fun than it had any right to be.

"That was sehr cool!" And then we were greeted by a blue elf who was hanging from the ceiling by his tail.

"As Kurt said, you two are really good." Scott said with a smile, his arms crossed over his chest.

"Any chances any of you would like to do that in a more formal setting?" Huh, already trying to recruit us. Was thinking that he would either think more about it before acting or that he would show his inner asshole and try to make us not join.

"I have not decided yet." I simply shrugged.

"Me neither." And Laura copied me.

"Well, the offer is open." Scott said with a smile, I wasn't really listening to him though. I had something far more important in mind.

"Can I help you mister Owen?" Xavier asked as he saw me walk towards him.

"Yeah, it's something super important." I said with a nod and a serious look on my face and made sure that the other X-Men were busy surrounding a very uncomfortable looking Laura.

"Do you have any clothes that I won't rip apart every time I shapeshift?"

————————

Charles had not known what exactly he had been expecting when Damian had asked for a favor from him, but this definitely was not it.

In hindsight, he probably should have realized that this would be somewhat important to a mutant of Damian's gifts who had just awakened their powers. The only other shapeshifter he knew of was Mystique and, now that he thought about it, she never seemed to have problems with clothes. Well, she actually did but that was mostly because Charles did not approve of that belt made out of small skulls. He really hoped that those were not real.

This did bring up the possibility that the blue shapeshifter, whom Charles was beginning to suspect that was related to a certain blue student of his, had been naked during every single one of her battles against his X-Men.

He wasn't sure how to react to that.

"So, any ideas?" Before Charles could ponder any further on the possibility that one of his most deadly enemies being an exhibitionist, Damian's question roused him from his thoughts.

"Hmm, oh yes. I believe that I know someone who should be able to provide you with such clothes. Not to mention they will be stab resistant and self repairing, though they likely will look rather basic." He said with a smile.

"I'll take basic as long as I don't have to shred my shirt every time I want to hit someone."

"Can't you just hit them without turning giant." Logan said with a raised eyebrow.

"Sure, and one can also survive by only eating tasteless paste."

"Please do not put hitting people in same importance as food." Charles said with a sigh, wondering if her ever would get a normal student to his school. Normal for a mutant anyway.

"No promises."

—————————

"So, how did you meet Damian?" The red haired girl asked her and Laura once more cursed the fact that the Facility never taught her how to deal with situations like this with anything other than murder.

"I was… having some rough time. Damian helped me." She said shortly, not willing to reveal much about what really transpired. Not only to keep her past hidden, but also because something was telling her that these people would be far less understanding than her about the first impression Damian made to her.

"That's nice, so you two must be good friends." And then the brunette girl invaded Laura's space, unknowingly almost losing her head if it wasn't for Laura's self control. Though, friends…

"I… guess." She guessed that word could be a close definition to what she had with Damian. She hadn't known him for long, and the fact that he burned several goons in their first meeting probably should have been something of an alarm, but she felt… safer around him. Like there was some sort of order.

The fact that he was willing to help her with the Facility was nice, and so was the fact that he had proven that he had the power to help her when he slapped that weird guy with helmet away.

"You don't talk much, do you?" Kitty asked with a smile and Laura merely shook her head, surprised that she finally understood that.

"That's cool, Rogue doesn't talk much either. You two can be silent buddies, together." Laura looked towards the mentioned Rogue, and immediately deleted a deep sense of kinship that could only be felt between two introverts in the range of an extrovert.

"Girls, I believe that you can grill miss Kinney for details later on." And then the telepath in wheelchair, dangerous; willing to go through minds while pretending to be good, had his chair roll towards them with a smile on his face and Damian by his side.

"It is about time miss Kinney and mister Owen to settle into their rooms." The bald telepath said with a smile.

"We can escort Laura to her room!" Kitty said with a wide smile and Laura's eyes widened with at the thought of more socialization from the girl as she shook her head from behind them, hoping that the telepath would understand her desire.

"I believe that is a wonderful idea, just follow after Ororo." The telepath said with a smile as the white haired woman who had came to their home with him started to lead the way while Kitty dragged Laura with her following the woman. All the while the man in wheelchair simply smiled towards their direction.

She had been right, the bald telepath was an enemy!
