Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Ok, I wasn't sure what I was expecting. But this rundown apartment definitely was not it. Honestly, I don't know what old Damian was doing with his life.

Well I kinda did actually, having his memories and let me tell you guys, memories worth 17 years getting suddenly shoved inside your brain… not a nice sensation.

From what I've got, Damian's parents had died in a car crash, cause it was either that or a mugging gone wrong in a back alley, a year ago and left him with a small inheritance that he could not touch until he graduated. And now he was living alone in a apartment. What the fuck?

Is this some sort of plot for a brain dead fanfic? What kind of moronic system would allow any kid live alone, let alone an orphaned one. And an inheritance that was taking care of his schooling and rent? Sounded far too much like someone wrote a story without thinking much.

Not worth much to complain though. World is stupid and dangerous, work out a way to have some safety. For complaining would do only two things to help the situation: Jack and Shit.

It was time to try out my new powers.

I raised my hand and started to concentrate. I honestly had no idea if this was how it should be since no one ever wrote about how Martian Manhunter trained his powers. Fortunately it worked and my fingers started to elongate, splitting from the middle and spinning like drills, no care for how human body should not allow such actions.

As I wanted to change the way I looked, I decided to make myself muscular, as in 'ready to beat up Dwayne Johnson' muscular, the kind you only see in anime or comics. And it worked, my shoulders began to become broader, my muscles around my back and arms began to multiply in size and then…

RIIIIIP

And then I remembered that just because I could shape shift, that does not mean that my clothes could too. I immediately shrunk down to my original size as I looked at my shirt, completely stretched out and ripped in half. Enough shape shifting.

After I put on a new shirt, I decided to look exactly how I looked like. It was… passable. Not stupidly handsome but definitely looked like I had done some sports in order to stay healthy. My hair was black without any kind of curls and my eyes were blackish brown. Pretty much the picture of an average teenager. Oh well, back to powers.

Telekinesis was pretty easy to test. I just opened the fridge from across the room. Would have taken some food out of it too if old Damian had not eaten everything! Bastard.

Last thing that I wanted to test was phase shifting. So I just put my arm into the fridge and watched it go through like the white exterior was not even there. Though for some reason phase shifting was not hindered by my clothes, unlike shape shifting. Thoughts for later as I had a far more important thing to do.

"Thank you for your patronage."

Ahh, convenience store. How I love thee. It had cost me a bit more than what I normally would spend at once, but the place needed some food. And Oreos. Sweet Oreos.

BANG

A gunshot in the middle of night right about I'm about to go past an alleyway. Can things get any more cliche?

Smart thing to do would be just to walk past without giving it any thoughts. Cause be honest, one has to be a real moron to go TOWARDS the sound of gunshot rather than the opposite direction. Or to have over powered superpowers. Thankfully, I was the latter case.

The scene before me wasn't exactly what I expected. The sound had came from what I can only assume to be a abandoned apartment complex and sure there were few corpses inside. But honestly I was expecting some sort of gang war between some nameless crooks. Crooks were there but rather than fighting against other crooks, they were fighting only one girl.

Well, more like they were being butchered by one girl.

Each of her movements were precise but also too fast for a normal human to comprehend(luckily I had Martian vision). That is not to say she was super fast like some speedster but more like she never stopped moving. Every time she got near one crook, he died and she was upon the next one even before the first one's body hit the ground. Her dark hair was swishing from one side to another with each of her movements, blinding the crooks that were near her as she slashed their necks. Which brought me to the most important part about her, she wasn't slashing with a knife.

She was slashing with pair pf claws that came out of her knuckles.

X-23, Laura Kinney

As I saw one of the crooks was about to raise his guns towards her back, I decided to, for a lack of better term, make an entrance.

If Burning Martians had survived in DC universe, then they would have become the natural predators of other Martians for one simple power they had...

Fire.

It came far more naturally than the other powers I had tried as flames appeared in my hand and became a torrent of destruction that went after the stupid crook and left nothing of him behind just as Laura killed the last crook other than him and looked at me with alarm.

I must have been a rather bizarre sight, a random teenager with grocery bags who just burned a man alive. Which for some reason did not bother me in the slightest. I had more important concerns right now after all.

"Hello, names Damian. Nice to meet you."
