She ran off to class before much else was said. The day drags on. It seems like a century of agonizing torture. I know I should be focusing on my school work as well but it's not as interesting as werewolves and a whole new world I never thought was real. Come on, it would be hard for anyone to focus. Especially if it involves a beautiful girl! "Why does she always look so pretty and smell so good?" I think to myself. Alone, she already made it hard to focus, but now it seems almost impossible. I never really thought about girls like this. It's kind of new to me. I feel a little nervous every time I see her. I should probably just play it cool but it's kind of hard when she's already been inside my head. Damn, what does she know? How do I play it cool if she already knows everything about me and probably every secret in my head. That's so not cool. Wait, is that how that even works? I feel like such an idiot and I usually never feel that way. This makes everything so much more embarrassing for me.
I get out of school a little early so I hurry up, get all my stuff together and rush out to my truck. I sit there and wait for Adrianna to meet me by my truck. Not sure if this is where she wanted to meet because she never specified where to meet. I sit there and wait for nearly forty five minutes and I don't see her anywhere. The parking lot is almost empty now and then I notice a small note on my windshield. I must have been really oblivious to things around me right now just worrying about other things. I grabbed the note and it said Had Emergency with a phone number after with text only written after that. I text the number and ask what happened and wait for a reply. I didn't get an answer after a few minutes so I drove home. It takes longer than usual. It's only a thirty minute drive which is usually really fun with all the winding roads and curves. I'm just too focused on an answer to enjoy it. I get home and do my normal routine all while checking my phone every minute. My parents notice I'm not as focused but don't really say anything.
Hours drag by with little help. I finally fell asleep some time after midnight. I have another horrible nightmare about fighting wolves. I wake up drenched again but I wake up to a message. The message read " There was an attack on the pack today and my father was wounded pretty badly. My mother pulled me from school. The Rogue's are getting pretty bad now." I want to reply so badly but I don't know what to say and I'm not ready to take anything on. I haven't even made my transition yet. Another text came in and stated that I need to look up werewolf rankings on the internet, which generally isn't a good source for most supernatural things but the ranking is correct and she double checked. I'll update you as soon as possible, got to go was the last message I got the rest of the morning. It's four a.m. and well I can't go back to sleep so I might as well read up on werewolves on the net.
OK so all the information basically says the same thing.
The Alpha is the pack leader or "Family" leader. Has final say on important decisions. Alpha maintains even temper and bond between the pack member's. All issues are discussed among the ranking pack members. Creates and enforces the rules of the pack to ensure growth and for the welfare of the pack. Decides the pack ranking, who courts who, pack member assessments and banishments. The Alpha's mate is called the Luna. She is an equal to the Alpha.
Beta is the second in command. The right hand man (or woman) to the Alpha. They have almost all of the power of an Alpha. They lead the pack when the Alpha and the Luna are away.
Delta is a werewolf training to be a Beta. They can't call hunts of any size. They are being groomed to take over for the Beta eventually.
A Salutary is a herbal wolf, basically a medicine man. They don't have any magical powers or anything like that. They work with herbal remedies and also outsource for special medicines. Recently they have become more of the doctor type but they do not lose the herbal learnings.
A Sentinel is a wolf who patrols the borders of the pack territory. Their job is to keep intruder's out. Greets visitors to find out why they are their and where they came from. They also keep the peace between the visitors and the pack members.
An Elder is an experienced wolf with lots of knowledge about pack life. They are usually someone who used to hold a high ranking position like Alpha or Beta. Despite the name they are not always older members. Their opinion is regarded highly when making decisions but they usually stay in the background of pack affairs. They are regarded so highly they are considered role models to all pack members.
Hunters are the most skilled wolves at tracking and hunting prey. They hunt for the entire pack. They lead the hunt with the Alpha or Beta. They give the orders to the other wolves during the hunt.
Scouts are wolves that check outer territory for danger and warn the Alpha. They are well known by neighbor packs and visit them often. Charged with keeping friendly relations with all. Most important role to ensure the safety of the pack and to maintain all alliances.
Guardians are basically caretakers of the pack. They are very skilled at caring for the weak or injured pack members. They watch over the older members as well as the weak and sick pack members. They have to be stern and also know which wounds are more severe than others. They watch over wounded pack members to ensure their survival and proper recovery. They are the support unit for health.
The Omega is the second lowest pack member. They are usually new to the pack or they are still learning. Another reason for this would be they were re-evaluated or demoted due to leaving and then they came back. They are basically the pup sitters or teachers to the little one's. They teach them pack rules, what's right or wrong, and what's safe or dangerous.
Pups are the children of the pack. They have all the social freedom with little responsibility. Most of their antics are tolerated to a point.
Rogues are all the wolves that have been either kicked out of the pack or they left on their own. There are two types of Rogues, one bad and one good. Rogues generally are bad. They tend to be vengeful and spiteful. They have been known to cause many deaths. They will kill animals without purpose. The rare but good Rogue wolf is usually a lone wolf. They just want to be alone. They have no intention to cause harm of any sort.
I write all the information down as I go so I remember it more easily. It's almost like I'm studying a completely different culture. Time to get ready for school and back to my normal life.
