Chapter 1 - Prologue

The council of elders called out to the entire city of Argus. They had finally captured the most powerful warlock and his execution was scheduled to happen that very day. The doors of the City Hall were widely opened in the darkest of hours of the night. Rain was pouring down heavily, thunder clapping within the sky accompanied by blinding flashes of lightning.

The hall was filled with a crowd big enough to near number up to the entire upper city side citizens of the city. At the entrance stood over fifteen soldiers, dressed in golden armor holding chains of the same material all tied to a single man. His face looked pale as his hair and body were fully soaked due to the rain outside. He was dressed in rugged attire that almost looked like a street rug.

The entire hall fell silent as he crossed through the hallway with only his wet feet, making a sound and the metallic rattle of the chains that held him. A few murmurs rippled through the crowd as they began to curse and call him words such as impure, unclean, and disgusting. He heard it all but didn't bother to interfere with their conversations and rumor-mongering.

"Don't mind what they say, they will be dead by dawn," whispered the voice in his head as he tried to avoid the people's words. He approached the Centre of the entire hall where he was to be judged by the elders. On stopping all that could be heard was the sound of the chains as they were dragged to the ground.

One of the elders stood up to clarify if this was the actual human he had heard of but his face was covered by his long hair so he couldn't get a clear visual. They settled back on five thrones and despite being called elders, none of them looked fit to hold the title of old. For they all looked like ordinary young men and women still in their early youth.

"Adam Walker, a warlock rumored to be more powerful than the Lords of Order themselves," said Agatha one of the lords/elders as she looked down to get a peep at Walker.

"If you say so, then I would wish to fight him, then maybe you would marry me, great lord of destruction," Argus said jokingly and smiled while turning to her.

"You've been dumb, Argus. Even after being proclaimed the lord of wisdom," she laughed at him,

"Seriously, we've been here for so many eras. C'mon, I have a full city in my name," he sounded so arrogant and stubborn as he spoke as though he wasn't about to lead an execution. He was rather the strongest and was proclaimed as the leader of the chaos lords.

Adam was now in front of the lords waiting for his judgment, every single eye staring at him as the silence grew within the entire hall.

"Adam Walker, do you know why you're here today?" Argus was the first to speak in a great and distinctive tone so loud and clear that the entire hall could hear him.

"I used forbidden power and am as much as guilty as it gets," Adam spoke slowly in a manner that sounded darker with each word the longer he spoke, "I killed a full city in the outer rim to finally get the five lords of destruction's attention all in one place." he was a complete psychopath and had been brought in for execution after his practice in dark magic that he used to kill a full city by the name Atrion with no survivors just victims.

"So tell me mighty Argus, are you impressed by my work?" He looked up to Argus and displayed his deep green eyes and unkempt beard, his face pale as that of the dead smiling mischievously with murderous intent blooming from it. This time, he wanted to observe who the Argus lord was. Argus started to receive a chill from the man who was now looking at him.

"So you are the great Lord of chaos, leader of the council of elders, don't you look too young to be an elder?" Walker commented seeing Argus' physic being of a young teenage boy.

"Be wise with how you use your words human," Argus was now serious while warning about the offensive comment on his appearance. He flew from his throne and down to Adam. "You dare to kill in our name and purpose. I'm flattered by how low you have fallen, Adam Walker." Argus had heard of the once-famous sorcerer but hadn't seen him till today.

He was dressed in golden armor with a cloak draped upon his shoulders. His skin was brown, his hair was dark and he had excellent red eyes and so did the others to represent the color of chaos looking like his own superman. Argus flew closer to Adam to get a closer look at his murderous face but he wasn't shaken instead he was now more pissed. he placed his hand on Adam's neck and then pushed him ever so effortlessly. The gesture sent Adam flying across the hall and smashing straight into a concrete wall shattering a large chunk of it on impact. The entire hall gasped in amusement at Argus' power.

"That's not even one of the terrible things I can do. Don't you dare repeat that warlock?" Argus commanded, but Adam was now smiling out of amusement from what had just transpired. Adam stood from the pile of rubble dusting himself... and he was untouched.

Adam began to laugh out deliriously all of a sudden as if it was all a joke to him. He gazed at Argus who was in now shock about why he wasn't hurt at all.

"First, the Five lords die and chaos will become a lie," he yelled, "There are only two lords in this hall who remember those words." he glanced at Agatha then back to Argus.

Argus slowly flew down, "How did you know that prophecy?" he inquired surprised by those words.

"A friend gave me a tip about it. He said that if I tell you about the prophecy..." he giggled then cleared his throat, "sorry I got soil in my throat. But why don't you come closer and I tell you, lord Argus." didn't trust him at all but it seemed he had no choice so he simply walked towards Adam who was smiling like a child being given a Christmas gift.

During all that Agatha jumped from her seat after suddenly getting the feeling of fear, "Something is wrong," she mentioned following her quick impulses, "Get the congregation out as fast as you can." she ordered the other three lords, Being the lord of chaos in charge of destruction and disasters, she was the most sensitive of great lords of chaos. And in addition to that, she was a great sorceress and had a greater connection to magic.

Agatha drifted directly from where she was and landed at the far verge of the hall. Drawing out her bow and arrows. she had to help Argus fast or else he would lose. on one knee she aimed at Adam and fired a direct shot without hesitation. With that action, a huge blast followed the insane impact that merely destroyed the roof. the congregation continued to run out during the collapse with the entire hall shaking intensively.

Agatha remained to look to see if she had succeeded but she couldn't due to the dust that had risen due to the ceiling collapse blocking her vision. Everything quickly got quiet for a second, had she killed him with one blast? was it over? those were the only questions that ran through her mind at that moment but to her disappointment, Adam rose his voice.

"Remarkable power Agatha, no wonder you stand for destruction."

Adam laughed like a mad man, "Truly beautiful."

The dust cleared and Adam was still standing only his clothes burnt but not him. Agatha couldn't believe what she was seeing

"What was this creature a god, a lord, a celestial?" that is all she thought after seeing that.

"WE WON'T...."

"WE WON'T...."

"WE WON'T...." she was now terrified by the scenery at that moment she remembered how much she wanted to live.

"We won't lose to you..." she yelled at him concluding her sentence. Then stood on her feet to conjure a magic spell. Runes formed in the air as she prepared the spell

"Oh really..."

Adam raised his hands and snapped the chains that were holding him to bits. Then charged directly towards her at godspeed. He was so fast that to him it looked like time had frozen or slowed down, making a fist as he prepared to punch Agatha with all his strength. But before he could, Argus appeared and pushed her out of his way then held his fist.

"Get... out... of... my... way," he ordered, struggling to pull back his fist from Argus' grip.

"If that's what want then you have to go through me first." Argus let go and landed a heavy uppercut directly to Adam's chin that sent him flying out of the hall and crash landing into the city.

Argus ran to Agatha who was still in shock, crying and trembling in trauma. He put both his hands on her shoulders and looked directly into her gaze. "Agatha... Agatha..." he shook her trying to bring her back to her senses.

"Argus... Argus I... I... can't... I can't... I don't want to die," she stared at him in fear and hugged him tightly. " Am sorry I couldn't beat him, Lord Argus.",

He sighed with relief, "It's alright am going to take care of it," he said hugging her back.

"What if you don't make it. What if he wins." she panicked,

" it won't be that easy," he stopped her, "but if he does, I need you and the others to survive the storm to come. I need you to destroy chaos so that he never gets his hands on that power ever."

"Destroy chaos!" she was shocked by his verdict, "but that's where your power comes from. if chaos dies you will need to use the lanes and that will make you way too vulnerable I can't do that."

"But I still have a chance of winning. it's clear he wants our power and Agatha... am trying to save my world here..." he mentioned while staring at her crimson-colored eyes.

"And what about yourself," she screamed, "we've protected humans for years. what about us? your friends or pals how will we feel about all this."

"We don't have a choice," he muttered silently,

Argus turned cold, "Just do it, Agatha please."

He took his hands off her shoulders and stood off the floor on hearing people scream from the city. it had to be Adam.

"Tell them I am sorry for this but sacrifices have to be made for worlds to live. And so we have to make this one." Argus said.

Then flew off to go finish the fight with Adam leaving only her sobbing alone.

"I love you too," she whispered silently, staring at him as he disappeared into the sky. She then started to immediately perform the chaos-breaking spell.

She reached for the lanes and began to absorb the power. "Forgive me, Argus," she cried, drawing more power from the lanes.

"Not enough. I need more," she continued drawing in so much that her hands began to burn and her eyes and face felt like they were burning off.

She felt the power of the lanes begin to burn her.

"Forgive me, Argus and everyone," she said one last time and finally released all of it at once into the ground.

First, there was a huge white light that spread out through the entire hall then there was a huge explosion grew from the center that wiped out the entire city of Argus killing anything from child to adult to Lord leaving nothing in the once-great city of Argus the home of Chaos and its five lords.
