She summoned her fire powers, then roared unleashing flames that set almost the entire floor on fire. The fire alarms sounded and the sprinklers activated creating a fog while trying to clear out the fire, she couldn't see properly, but she knew she had landed a hit because there was a hole in the wall leading to outside. The apartment owners that were around heard the explosion from the upper floor and had started to wake up. And ask questions.
This was her cue to leave so she moved closer to see through the hole if her target was dead. The fog suddenly cleared after a massive wind that almost blew her away appeared.
She looked and saw the masked man had lost his hoodie and she could see the pointed ears. Her first assumption was maybe he was an elf that had been cast out, but then she saw the majestic display of angelic like wings elevating from his back.
"I have never seen fire magic be used as well as you do it, what's your secret?" he sounded so young yet something about his tone was serious.
"I might as well ask the same as you, what are you?" she asked, looking down at him from above, "if I told you then that would ruin the surprise." He said.
"What surprise?"
She felt something on her foot once more, but this time she could see it. A rope no a lasso that was glowing had been constricted on her leg. This is what dragged her at the beginning of all this.
She knew she had to get serious if she were to kill Stuart and leave in time. She then started to emit golden lightning from her body that went directly to the masked person through the lasso and electrocuted him hence letting go of the lasso and it disappeared instantly.
"I think it's time I get serious." She said.
Then formed a twister made of fire, "Let's see if you can absorb this." Then sent it spinning for the masked person, the flames then started to burn down the entire street the closer they approached him.
Suddenly, she heard an explosion right behind her back and noticed the masked person had already disappeared with professor Stuart. The explosive sound she just heard was the sound of his wings breaking the sound barrier, she ceased the flames and looked at the damage she had caused, all for nothing..
"Did he say anything?" An Astro projected form of Talon appeared behind her.
"No, he was saved by someone in a mask with angel wings and elf ears before I could make him ." She was angry.
"Oh, I see you've encountered a nightmare being. I didn't think they would try to involve themselves in this, he may be working with Leon."
"Nightmare! What the hell is that? " She asked.
"They are beings in this world think of them like the elves of this world. Anyway, head back to base the meeting is about to start, we will talk about this later." He said and vanished.
Michelle startled for a bit, then set off into the sky.
She landed in the courtyard of what seemed to be a gigantic hall, she walked through the entrance and witnessed the huge crowd that was in. There were over eight hundred seats in the hall that had been occupied by all kinds of people and creatures, each talking to each other like it was normal. In general, she didn't want to be here, but she didn't have much of a choice either way.
A man then stared at her and waved, He was being guarded by two bodyguards wearing shades even though they were indoors. He had a red face like he had been sun-kissed and a brown skin that resembled that of a tanned human being, she waved back trying to make a fake welcome smile for him to see she wasn't a threat.
The whole place suddenly went quiet when they all took their seats as talon approached the podium that was at the very of the hall. He had returned back to his original form which was a bald man with a scar that went through his face. He had always had it even before he joined the queen's army back when he was an elf and had never told anyone of its origin.
She took her seat and looked at the podium that he was now standing on with a small microphone attached to the stand right in front of him. On the floor was imprinted on a symbol of a snake eating its tail. She observed as he finally stood on and started,
"Thank you all for coming I know how hard it was for you to make it here, but I appreciate that a lot of you have made it to today without any harm..first of all, I welcome you all to the world of the Eldriym also known as the realm of gods." they all cheered after him mentioning that, "I am going to start with a small and brief story," he said placing both his hands onto the stand, "a long time the gods created Eldriym as the home and birthplace of magic a beautiful green land with so many trees and life. It was all perfect until humans started to learn how to control this power, they used it for their own selfish needs like winning wars and making weapons and spells that could be used to slaughter everyone. So the gods created the two slayers order and chaos who were to maintain the balance between magic and humans and for centuries that seemed to work, until…" he paused for a bit, "…until the two entities rebelled against their own parents and the gods grew dispute and conflict amongst them, hence they chose to make their own worlds, what we know today as the multiverse….it was a construction of multiple ideas by the gods on creating a perfect world. But then the god of chaos, our master and father Oblivion saw that this was pointless, magic, life, the gods, so he embarked on a vision to wipe the infestation that was magic itself and its makers, but the rest of the gods resented him. They called him a fool, a mad god so he slaughtered the gods leaving the weak entities behind its hard for me to say, but he lost to Chaos and Order apparently they had grown stronger than they had been before. Though Chaos lost her physical body during the final fight that happened here on Eldriym the home of the gods, her brother buried her body here making it the source of energy that chose what I call Chaos lords, champions that would be chosen and blessed with her own power, the power that belonged to the god of chaos himself. And that is we are here today to finally receive the power that was promised by our god, Oblivion."
The crowd clapped at his announcement and stopped the moment he rose his left hand, "I created the creed years ago to serve this purpose… to bring war on Eldriym and destroy the source of the lanes and all man-made magic users who weren't picked by nature." he was so loud and sounded like a mad scientist gone rogue.
"Our master can't be here in person, he still sealed away and we need a chaos lord to break him free. There are only two of them in the entire multiverse Argus Sundas and Scarlet Raymond…that one is a bigger threat, according to what I have heard she possesses the skills and memories of her predecessors. Meaning we are going to send our strongest after her and they will be led by the late Genevieve's brother… Commander Scalaban."
He looked at a boy, that was seated at the very end of the hall not so far from Michelle. The whole crowd turned to see who it was. A boy slightly taller than her, with sky blue eyes and a clear, slightly long face and a very slim body with a huge sword in between his legs. He waved, smiling at the crowd then nodded at Talon, who returned his face back to the addressing the crowd.
Michelle had heard whispers around about the commander named Genevieve, they said she was the strongest and fastest commander in this place and that she was a special grade rank officer with an army of giant monster spiders. It sounded odd that Talon had used the term "late" on her. Who could have been that powerful? to kill her.
"Before you all go I need five volunteers to see who is worthy of replacing her. Her sacrifice shall be remembered and those who did this to her shall be punished in cold blood."
They all cheered louder as a few men started to step forward and stood in the space between the podium and the first row of seats then bowed. The whole went silent again as Talon pushed the stand away and raised both his hands.
The entire room went dark, as all the lights flickered and suddenly powered off like some horror movie.
Michelle looked and for the first time. She felt something sinister grow within the hall. It was coming from Talon and it was so dark and enormous
