They both raised their hands in the air and stared at Dr. Lin. Alex pressed her teeth trying to hold in the anger that was growing from within. She made a fist and was about to attack when Jack's voice echoed in her head.
"Don't she is just scared." Jack spoke using telepathy, "I know you can't tolerate such, but you need to understand humans are frightened by what they don't understand." She released her fist and said, "Didn't we just save your world a while ago. How typical of you that you've already declared us enemies." Alex looked disgusted as she stared at Dr. Lin. "Don't get me wrong, but last I saw you two you were going to fight an immortal spider child thing that we've been fighting for a while and now the four of you show up mysteriously and it's dead along with its entire army in just one night." Dr. Lin
"So, you are calling us overpowered?" Alex complained while laughing, "she's calling us overpowered." She pulled her brother's shirt as she continued to laugh out even louder.
"Am not saying your overpowered am just saying I don't want to risk the lives of innocent people in this city by letting in some godlike beings whose intentions am not aware of." Dr. Lin sounded very serious at the moment, but deep inside she was scared that they may rage out and kill everyone since they were already through.
Jack sighed after hearing her words, "My name is Jack Randal Kay and this is my sister Alexandra Kay we are children to a lord of order and an elf of noble blood. We came here in search of special items known as the anchors of chaos, weapons that allow access to an ancient power. We didn't have the intention of helping out or coming here, actually, it was all a coincidence we did."
"Then, if you're not from here where are you from?" Dr. Lin questioned
"Well, we come from a different reality similar to yours but in ours, magic is something common and almost every human has it. Our world goes by the name earth of the Eldriym." He explained,
Dr. Lin looked at him and she understood that he wasn't lying about it, "So you are also aware of the multiverse interesting. I guess that Argus comes from a reality different from yours because he looks younger."
"Yes, he is helping us recover the anchors to stop a threat that may take down our worlds." He said emphasizing the word "worlds".
She then commanded all the soldiers to stand down, "You can put your hands down now and follow me," she moved forward to the cliff and stepped in mid-air but didn't fall instead remained standing still in mid-air forming what looked like a glass bridge, the twins followed her as they started to slope down to the city. You could notice that it wasn't an everyday kind of city, from the massive futuristic technology around the place that varied from electromagnetic cars to the robots that were doing construction. Both of them had never seen anything like this in their entire lives.
"Wow…impressive." Alex's jaw dropped,
"There were only five cities like this and this was the oldest and largest. The spiders attacked the other four." Dr. Lin said, continuing to lead the way.
"So, you are not going back to the top? Even after knowing that the threat is gone." Jack said
"We are. It's just that my people need to first analyze before going back that is how we do things around here." She explained as she led them to her apartment.
"And by the way where is Scarlet?" Alex questioned Dr. Lin with a loud tone that the doctor found displeasing, but couldn't complain because she had already shown them a reason not to trust her twice.
"Don't get worried about your friend is in the ICU getting the best treatment we can offer. They found her when she had lost a lot of blood so she had to be treated fast."
"Wait! I thought you left the building with her," Alex remembered.
"I did, but we met some troubles along the way some of them being a giant spider and a car accident. We were split up and when we found her, she had already incurred worse injuries than anticipated, for the boy is in the infirmary getting also some treatment."
"Good, then tell us where you found that crystal." Jack asked as they continued walking, "you don't just find ancient magic lying around for no reason." Jack continued.
"Why don't you just come in so that I can explain myself?"
They had stopped at an apartment that was alongside the road continuing to the city. She placed her hand on the door and it emitted a blue light that scanned her palm turning green once it approved her identity. And slid open.
"Welcome home Linda." Said the house AI in a male voice.
"Thank you, Rogers. Please mind making my guests some tea. They have had a long night." She said taking off her lab coat and placing it on the rack by the wall. Her apartment was fairly large and brightly lit, Jack couldn't tell the difference between the sun and whatever the crystal was providing them with. The walls had a black and white pattern and the floor was covered with a snow-white woolen carpet. Meaning they had to take off their shoes.
They followed the doctor to what seemed to look like an empty part of the house, she clapped and white sofas were pulled from the floor.
"Take your seats I will be back in a few. If you need anything…"
"Shower…" they said at the same time,
"We need to shower." Alex smiled with innocence on her face. While Jack smelled his shirt to notice the disturbing order that was coming from his shirt. Come to think of it, they hadn't showered for three days now.
"You can use the bathroom to the right." Dr. Lin pointed. Alex jumped off the sofa and ran off to where she had been directed leaving the two alone.
"You should go back to where you came from Jack before you lose everyone." Her eyes were now wide as she warned him, "The multiverse is a dangerous place. Kids like you shouldn't be meddling with."
Jack stood from his seat.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean it's dangerous. You see that crystal up there. We got it by entering the multiverse and searching through different realities, each was different from the previous one some were okay but once they were terrible they were the definition of terrible itself." There was shaking in her voice as she was remembering what they had gone through. Jack saw the look of terror in her eyes and he confirmed that she had seen everything. He too had seen parts of the multiverse because of his powers but had never been this terrified because he had powers. He could only imagine the horrors she had gone through since she was powerless.
"Oh my god you've seen it too," she said when she saw that he didn't look so surprised or frightened by her words.
"Seen what?" Jack asked,
"The dark side of the multiverse. It's where the sword of Argus the Chaos of wisdom is hidden. And It's where the god oblivion was locked."
