Scarlet was standing still facing Chaos, "The trials what do you mean trials?"
"It's how I chose my champions," she explained. They had both been in the garden house for about four hours now. Scarlet still had no idea of what Chaos wanted or what she meant.
"The trials are the only way I can see if you're worthy of my power human."
"What do you mean worthy? I thought you already gave me the power," she argued.
"I lent you a piece of it and all you did was depend on your strength," the being protested.
"Because am not a mage at all am not cut out for magic-" Chaos made a fist, changing the room's entire appearance from a garden house into an arena with scores of people in the surrounding bleachers. There were people screaming from the seats as they cheered for Scarlet. She spun her head around in confusion about how or where Chaos had taken her. She was dressed as a gladiator wielding a sword in her right hand.
"If you think strength is the key, then you will fight me using strength. If you win, you will get my power. If I win, then I will take your mortal body," she said, changing her entire attire to that of gladiator armor and pointing her sword at Scarlet.
They stared at each other, each waiting for the other to make the first strike. Scarlet charged towards Chaos striking first with her sword with a downward strike, her movements rugged as she planned on overpowering the being through brute strength and the edge that came with striking first and fast. Chaos grabbed the sword's sharp edge before hitting her and smiled amused by the weak approach of attack Scarlet had chosen to use. Scarlet remained standing pushing the sword with the hope it could overpower her. But Chaos just easily pulled the sword out of her hand then hit her with a red blast of energy before she could react. Tossing her to the very end of the arena through the dust and into the corner of the wall that separated them from the spectators, coughing blood on impact. Chaos teleported and kicked her harder into the wall cracking it on impact. She stepped back to watch the girl cry in pain.
Do you plea, surrender because I know you can't fight me for long enough without your human body crumbling Chaos mentioned. The crowds continued cheering for chaos' display of power, she looked down at Scarlet who was trying to push herself up.
You despise me thinking you are the strongest Chaos. Scarlet muttered as she forced herself up staring at Chaos with a furious look in her eyes. Standing up on both her feet, Scarlet saw that she was unevenly matched against Chaos if she were to only use her strength. She had to use her last resort and that's her great connection with the lanes which she also hadn't used in a while. She suspended both hands in the air and reached for the lanes the same way she had on her first day but this time with purpose and for a second there was a small burst of lighting sparks in her fingertips she drew in the energy for longer. She felt it course through her own body like an electric shock tingling all her senses and unleashed it all at once letting it take over her. The weather then changed as the sunny bright sky changed to cloudy as darkness covered the entire arena and the entire crowd grew silent
Chaos took a few steps back from her as she stared at the suddenly dark clouds that had covered her domain. She moved her head around and noticed that her crowd had vanished, and it was only her and Scarlet that was in the arena. "Now let the action begin." she announced and fired a red blast from her hands with a force so strong it made a huge explosion the moment it hit Scarlet ending with a dust and sand cloud, "I can't believe you couldn't dodge that att-" Chaos stopped bragging after sensing something. The dust and smoke cloud then cleared slowly and to her surprise, Scarlet was still standing and unharmed from the vicious attack, though her eyes had started glowing a white light along with the hair her face looked dead serious and gave off the vibe similar to a blood rage. She said nothing at Chaos but it was clear she was unaffected from the attack. Scarlet summoned the clouds above the arena closer and above them. All carrying flashing lights of energy,
Chaos looked up as the clouds circled around them and a blast of white energy followed falling from the sky hitting her with a high voltage of energy as she screamed from the blast's extreme energy falling on her knees breathing heavily. She felt drained from it as the blast had sucked in her power.
Scarlet slowly walked to her with that cold expression still on her face like she was someone else. Her fingers still sparkling with lighting on the tips, "I am not weak Chaos you're the weak one." She said and created a ball made of lightning that aimed for Chaos who was now the one on the floor having nothing to say, Child…
"Don't call me child Chaos. I was never your child."
Chaos laughed at Scarlet's words, "You have no memory of your past and you speak like that to me! the source of your power."
"What do you mean no memory of my past?" Scarlet seemed shocked by the discovery and regained control of her body. Chaos laughed loudly as she stood on her feet "Yes, your past." she said, "you are not a human Scarlet you've never been one much as I remember." Scarlet looked at her in disbelief, that is impossible am born of human parents… what would even make you say something like that." she complained
"Well, the first thing is that the last time I saw someone channel as much power similar to what you've done here was a champion called Wolder the conquer he wasn't human rather elf the strongest elf I know."
"You are saying am a part elf?"
"No no no am saying you are not a human. You need to find yourself Scarlet no one wakes up and is as powerful as you are everything happens for a reason. She smiled you are worth being the successor of my power and this..." she pulled out a book of all Agatha's spells.
"When you awaken you must find a way of how to master all these spells. And come free me." She whispered placing the book in her hands then disappearing with the world they were in.
Scarlet opened her eyes jumping back to reality. The ice around her body then shattered instantly as she pulled herself up but was surprised after suddenly seeing the look on Alex, Jack and Argus who were staring at her while standing all in shock. Alex ran and held her hand and pulled her out and up onto her feet, though her head was aching from the spell she had been in with Chaos. "You passed." Argus congratulated Scarlet, "We were worried sick are you okay." Jack sounded relieved by her sudden awaking.
She looked around and noticed she was no longer in the school and were now in what looked like they were hiding underground, she noticed the rails and understood that they were under the subways that were once on this world before the apocalypse "Where are we?" she asked softly as she was being weakened by the intense headache she was having.
"The subway…" Argus answered pointing at the destroyed sign that read SUBWAY. "The doctor was taken by the spider woman thing (Scarlet felt discouraged by the news) and sadly she is the only one who knows and has the key to the next gate."
"So we agreed on rescuing her and getting what we want so we are going to the tallest building in this city apparently these spiders prefer the high grounds," Jack concluded the rest of the plan to Scarlet
