Chereads / Isekai Tensei! Seven Clavery! / Chapter 19 - Libra Kingdom Arc - Chapter 18: Another Monster Problem?!

Chapter 19 - Libra Kingdom Arc - Chapter 18: Another Monster Problem?!

I've already made quite alot of bonds in the guild. Today is a good day too!

I have abs!

Although it cannot be seen because I'm wearing clothes, it's still there. My one dream ever since the previous world finally came true. But, I still have this slender sexy figure. I don't mind since I like it though.

I'm currently in the guild building after just entering through the entrance. The moment I did, adventurers looked at me. But unlike last time that they would look away when it's a stranger, I was greeted with smiles on their faces.

"Yo, Morning Seven!"

"Good morning, Seven-san!"

"Had a good sleep, lass?"

"Morning, Clavery!"

And various other greetings. Ofcourse I didn't waste my time and returned all their greetings. All it took was partake in quests with the other adventurers and it was fun. 3 weeks had passed and it's almost been a month since I came to this world. The Magic Academy enrollment exams will start next week, and I'm about to persuade the Guild Master to enroll me there along with Aria. He has a debt to pay for almost killing me afterall!

I went to the counter where Nina-san works. There was a short line but it didn't bother me.

"Good morning, wife!"

Arlet whispered loudly onto my ear. I didn't even notice her, and when I looked over to her, it turns out she was with Aria.

"Good morning, Seven-san."

"Good morning, Aria... And you too, Arlet."

"Why do you sound like you didn't plan in greeting me? By the way, I heard you'll be registering as a student to the Magic Academy."

Aria must have told her since I didn't. They joined the line right behind me.

"If Seven and Aria is going, count me in."

"I thought you didn't want to go?"

She crossed her arms with her eyes closed stubbornly. Clearly she was really hesitating about it, I wonder why she doesn't want to go to school. Bullying? No way, I bet she's the bully and she just doesn't want to study.

"At first I did, but it won't be boring if you, Aria and Alric are coming."

"I see. Well, we still need to get the money so it's not decided yet."

By the time I came to, it was already our turn in line. Nina Bluewater the receptionist asked me what she can do for me with a sincere smile.

"I'm Seven Clavery. I'd like to meet with the Guild Master."

"As you wish, Seven Clavery."

She pronounced my name teasingly on purpose.

Nina called over one of the guild's staff and ordered him to inform the Guild Master about my visit. Surprisingly, he returned before even a minute has passed.

"The Guild Master, Ryan-sama allowed this meeting with Seven Clavery."

All three of us entered the room. The others were allowed since the Guild Master wasn't the type to mind trivial things.

The moment we entered the room, a fragrant smell of perfume met my sense of smell and sounds of someone talking could be inaudibly heard. The Guild Master's office was not much different from a principal's office back in school.

"...a missing finger."

"What made you come here, Seven Clavery?"

The moment we entered, that tingly feeling entered my mind again. Sitting on a couch opposite the Guild Master was his son, Alric Ruthenford. So it was him again!-

Eh?

The feeling disappeared a few moments after he noticed my presence, which also made him stop what he was saying to the Guild Master earlier. This is really weird.

"It's you guys again, sup?"

"H-Hello."

I forced a smile while waving at Alric. I changed my attention to his father this time since it would be rude to ignore him.

"So?"

He demanded the apparent continuation of our plea right before taking a sip of his coffee. I was more worried about his mustache touching the coffee than the approval of our request.

"That time at the orc subjugation quest when you asked me questions, you told me I can ask you a favor, right?"

"What about it?"

Although he didn't look happy right now, it was still a fact he almost killed me. Surely he knows that, right?

"Wait, you went on such a thing without me?!"

The one to speak was Alric who slammed his hands on the table of his father. What the hell, is this guy getting at?

"You're not even an adventurer, it doesn't concern you."

"Dang it."

Shoving his son aside, he continued his discussion with me.

"So what is your request, Seven Clavery?"

I breathed in and out silently. Asking someone, specially someone from the higher ups for something is not an easy task. Here it goes.

"I wish to enroll Aria Vleutonelle in the Aries Magic Academy. If possible I would like you to pay the enrollment fee for me."

"..."

The room was suddenly shrouded with silence. Even Alric and Arlet didn't look good while Aria was turning purple from anxiety. Hold up, I just noticed but why do most of my friends have 'A' in their first names?!

"...Hm, very well. The fee is not much of a problem for me. Consider it as my apology for harming you last time."

You didn't just harm me, you almost killed me! But sure I'm willing to get choked if it means I'll get a favor from someone again!

"Thank you so much."

Ah! It didn't even cross my mind! I had the golden statues which would have a value of 700,000 Mithras if I sold the rest! I can just sell three statues to the trade store to pay for my enrollment fee and tuitions... Ah, I'm so stupid. School is starting but my braincells are still having a beach party.

"W-Well, we'll be leaving then. Please excuse me, Ryan Bang-sama and Alric-sama."

We bowed and left the Guild Master's office. What was Alric even doing here? Owh well, doesn't concern me. All of that out of the way, I managed to get Aria enrolled. Not officially, but the money is covered I also have a plan for her sister.

The person herself was still looking petrified. Walking like a robot with a face that looked as thought she'd seen a ghost.

"Calm down."

I said to her while rubbing her head.

"How can you say that while asking the Guild Master to pay something for me?!"

Her face puffed and she's visibly upset. But I'm glad that I managed to clear up the Guild Master's debt. The gap in our power is too wide for me to even estimate. I can tell he wasn't even getting serious in that battle with Garek. So my most appreciative revenge is taking some of his money!!

"You look happy right now, Seven."

Said Arlet with a small hint of curiosity.

"It's nothing. Should we go take a quest?"

BOOM!

"!"

There was a sudden bang as someone kicked the door entrance open. Out of extinct, every adventurer in the guild took a step back and readied their weapons. Even my body reacted on it's own and I unconsciously summoned a magic sword in front of me.

"Move away! There's someone injured!"

A party with numerous wounds on their body walked through the entrance and everyone calmed down instantly. Some adventurers decided to help their injured guildmates by supporting them from the shoulder. And the magic sword at my front dispersed into particles of light.

It was an entire party. On what looked like a shielder's back was a gravely wounded healer with signs of claw marks on his body. Additionally, a considerable chunk of his flesh was missing around the right forearm too. That must hurt alot.

"Man, what the hell happened to those guys?"

Mumbled a nearby middle aged man with a giant axe behind his back. He was immediately answered by a spearsman around his age.

"Those wounds... They look like they got it at early in the morning when it's still dark out. I heard there are ghouls around the north-eastern outskirts of the city. They must have went there to slay those ghouls."

"Ghouls?! Isn't that a problem? We should head there before night before they hurt more people!"

Furiously exclaimed by the axe wielder. Everyone who heard spearsman had the same thoughts and they began discussing a party alliance of atleast 16 people.

I agree with you guys. Although I can't just say to you right now that you're both sounding reckless but heroic at the same time. There's part of me wanting to go though, but I'm afraid of scary things!

"Hey Seven, let's go too."

Aria nudged on me while fixedly watching the ghoul subjugation party with a serious expression.

"We definitely must go. There are villagers there that are kind to us adventurers."

Everyone was burning in passion for helping the needy. Seriously, are you all heroes? Not a single one of you are secretly villains, aren't you?!

In the end, I was forced to join and everyone were to meet up at the Guild's Entrance. We brought Durian, Ledge and Percy along.

"Long time no see, Percy and Ledge."

I welcomed them in as they sat on the table for our party. In this party alliance we had a total of 4 teams with 5-6 members. In total we go to a number of 22 personnel.

"Sup you all."

"Good morning, guys."

"How was sleep, everyone?"

"All good."

I answered before unrolling a piece of parchment. Since I had a total of 13,100 Affection Points right now, I might as well prepare precautions.

"Is everyone here? We will go to the site before 10am, does anyone have any objections? None? Alright it's decided then."

Ah, I recognized that guy. It's the teenager with a spear and his two friends. Apparently, he's the one who made the announcement and served as the leader of his party but he also checked on everyone in other parties with that unspecified question.

Well, it looks like I still have enough time. I might as well continue writing. It's a good thing that everyone here can't understand the actual english language since it doesn't exist here, it's only the translator that's making them speak english and I'm much better at speaking english than japanese so their language is translated this way.

"What are you writing, wife?"

Arlet was looking from my shoulders. But as expected, she can't understand english writing.

"None of your business."

"...Hmph."

I said to her coldly and she seemed pissed off because she clicked her tongue and went and dragged Aria to the women's bathroom. Probably to take out some rough love. I don't mind, I'll just make love with both of them later.

So, 『Page Activation』is it?

The ink I had written had suddenly changed into a bright sapphire color and I tucked it in my storage ring. This skill costs me more than thrice the amount of 『Rewrite Destiny』because it can be used without burning after I stop writing for a few seconds which is very helpful.

I only managed to make 3 pages in the end and it was also time to depart to the north-eastern village. Ah, Arlet and Aria also came out of the women's bathroom with Aria looking obviously defiled.

We took our travel through a carriage this time since the cargo trucks are only for big scale events like the orc war last time.

It didn't take too long since the village was not that far off from the city. We arrived at 9:44am. And while we were walking towards the village's entrance, the young spearsman asked everyone.

"Has anyone here ever encountered ghouls?"

Only one person raised his hand. It was the shield wielder, Durian.

"They're monsters that look like overgrown hairless bats. They also look human in one part but that's all to it because they can shape shift themselves to turn into things they've killed. Their primary food source are human children."

They seem right out of cultural lores to scare stubborn kids. And I was right about not wanting to go here, that's scary for me too even though I'm already adult.

"Thank the heavens! The adventurers are here!"

The moment we entered the entrance as Durian was explaining, the villagers, mostly adults and some curious children welcomed us.

"Is something the matter?"

The young man asked casually.

"GHOULS! The ghouls have been constantly attacking us and taking our children! Please retrieve them!"

"Please calm down. We came here to exterminate those ghouls."

Even though he was currently being grabbed and shaken by the woman, the spearsman remained calm and continued to reassure her. But from what I'm hearing from him, he's not saying something like "They're still alive." which goes to show how uncertain we are.

"We came here to discuss what we're going to do."

The young man said. We were currently located at a clearing near the village. This is originally a place where the elder holds his meetings but we were allowed to borrow it.

"Do the ghouls come out at night?"

I raised my hand and asked a question to the young man. The person who answered instead was Durian who was just a meter away from me.

"The ghouls come out at night, but we don't know where they hide in the time of daylight."

And it was continued by a female mage archer from another party.

"I read from a book that they live and sleep in caves during the day. They say going there alone is utter suicide."

"But where are we gonna find the cave?"

Arlet's question made everyone think immediately. But it turns out noone here knows any cave closeby.

"Everyone, I have a plan."

I proposed while raising my hand once again.

"Speak, Seven Clavery."

Ohoho, looks like noone here doesn't know my name in the guild anymore! But I'm very embarrassed that I don't even know their names yet.

"The ghouls are attracted to children, right? What if I turn myself into a child and make them capture me, that way you can track me down and find their cave."

Everyone pondered for a moment and thought that it's a good idea but had some mixed doubt in it as well.

"That's indeed a good idea, Seven. But Ghouls can detect children with their sensitive sense of smell, you can't fool their noses by changing your appearance."

"When I said that, I meant I will literally turn myself into a child."

"What?!"

Everyone cried out in chorus. This world doesn't seem to have anything like an age reversing magic but I can do anything if given enough Affection Points.

"W-Well, your method... We won't ask but you can really do it, right?"

He reiterated and I nonchalantly said I could. Everyone seems to put their trust in me at this point. Now all that's left is to be a bait at night time. I mean, the ghouls won't kill me on the spot, right?
