Chapter 3 - Celestial Being

The Queen of Death and the Prince of Death locked eyes both unwavering. The more Chu Hua argued and demanded, the more the Prince insisted on holding her tight. If his father learned of her existence, he would proclaim the heavens had sent her to be his bride and help usher a stronger bloodline.

All Chu Hua wanted was to be free of this princeling and find a way to get stronger. After avenging the original body owner, she would for once choose who she wanted to be.

"Banyan," the Prince called out a shadow guard appearing before them.

Banyan bowed his head and tried his best to hide the astonishment; his General had not once allowed any females near him. The General had at one point stated females could not be trusted as they hid deceit behind their beauty, and yet here, he was with an alluring female in his arms.

"My lord?" Banyan asked, uncertain as to how to proceed.

The Prince lowered Lady Chu Hua but didn't let her go, "keep an eye on her unless I give the order; she is not allowed to leave this tent."

"As my lord commands," Banyan looked over the female, "my lord shouldn't she dress first?"

The Prince looked over Chu Hua once more, probably realizing the cloak did little to cover the exposed Chua Hua.

Chu Hua studied the two men; she could easily overpower them in her prime physic, but unfortunately, she could only buy her time in her current condition. The men spoke as if she weren't in the room, typical.

Lady Chu Hua slapped the Prince's hand away and stood, forgetting to take hold of the cloak it fell to her feet.

"Madwoman, first you throw yourself and now this," the Prince picked up the cloak and quickly wrapped Chu Hua in it, "who allowed you to walk around like this?"

With her head health high, Chu Hua stated, "the Heavens."

The heavens so was this female a celestial being Banyan asked himself. If so, perhaps she could help his Prince gain favor with the Emperor.

"Are you claiming to be a Celestial?" Prince Qiang asked no one had seen a Celestial since his mother last walked this earth, could it be possible for another to have descended onto the mortal realm.

With all her pride, Chu Hua responded, "then how else would I have fallen from above?" she pointed a slender hand upward, careful not to let go of the cloak. What madness was she spewing, Chu Hua thought to herself; regardless of whether it was madness, the Prince seemed to consider it. Had he believed her, if so, wouldn't that be great?

"Then tell me, great Celestial, will we win this war?" Prince Qiang studied Chu Hua carefully; no matter how he looked at it, the only way to win was to sacrifice his men, which was something Prince Qiang would never do.

Chu Hua considered her following words carefully for whatever reason she felt the Prince was testing her.

"If you wish to lose all your men," Chu Hua made a slight pause, "then continue to fight. But if you truly wish to win, then live to fight another day."

Banyan felt the need to say, Miss Celestial, our General would never surrender, but he knew it was not his place to speak.

Prince Qiang did not trust the strange female, but she had a point if he retreated; perhaps his men stood a chance.

As Chu Hua looked over the Prince, she decided for the time being she would stay by his side; after all, he was a sight to behold.

"I've decided I will stay by your side for the time being," Chu Hua proclaimed, ignoring the bewilder looks she got from the Prince and Banyan.

Chu Hua walked over to a chest and popped it open to find weapons, not what she needed at the time.

"What are you doing?" Prince Qiang asked as he trailed behind Chu Hua.

Chu Hua rolled her eyes, "I need clothes," she looked at the Prince as if it were the most obvious of things.

"Banyan get her something to wear," The Prince commanded just as Chu Hua found a set of clothes.

"No need," Chu Hua said, holding up the garments, "I'll just wear this."

Prince Qiang reached for the clothes, thinking how a female could walk around in men's clothes. That was simply ridiculous.

"It's the safest," Chu Hua stated as if reading Prince Qiang's thoughts.

Without another word, Chu Hua dropped the cloak and dressed. Being as Chu Hua was from the twenty-first century, changing in front of others, let alone wearing men's wear, was something that didn't face her after all her undergarments had somehow survived the flames, so it wasn't like she was entirely nude. Not only that, but the Nightmoon syndicate consisted primarily of men, with the females being something kept around as playthings and nothing more.

Chu Hua had changed in front of Arlo plenty of times, especially when he helped her tend her wounds. Thinking of Arlo made Chu Hua want to time jump back to her period and teach him a lesson in coveting what wasn't his to take but unfortunately, not only was Chu Hua in the past, she had gone back in time to another world. A world where things like dragons and demons were a thing of reality and cultivators and talking animals if the original owner's memories were to be believed.

Chu Hua could only hope to become the strongest cultivator if she remained in this world. So, if she had to pretend to be a celestial being while she became more powerful. Chu Hua believed she would, and the Prince would help her if she had anything to say about it.
