Chapter 4 - The Liar

Now that Chu Hua was dressed, she figured she'd have a look around the camp, but the Prince had other plans he'd assigned Banyan to keep an eye on her. While Banyan followed in silence, Chu Hua felt a sense of unease at being followed. For years she had been the one to give orders, but now she had to start from the bottom in this new body and world. It wasn't that Chu Hua believed it couldn't be done; it was simply her soul had grown weary. Back in her world as Sonia Song, at age ten, had managed to obtain an Eight Kill Star, but in this world, that did not matter, as she was now the disfavored daughter of the House of Feng. Chu Hua decided then and there, as she watched the soldiers train, she would not only become more powerful, but she would destroy the house of Feng for all they had done to the original owner of her new body.

Chu Hua spun around, an idea forming as she caught Banyan off guard, "you will teach me to be like you."

Banyan had been instructed to keep an eye on Lady Chu Hua, but Prince Qiang had said nothing about agreeing to any of her requests. So, Banyan proceeded to ignore Chu Hua; after some digging, they had found Chu Hua was the lineal daughter of the House of Feng. The Dark General believed Lady Chu Hua was sent into their camp as a spy; after all, everyone knew the House of Feng and Prince Wei to be intimate friends.

For the last decade, the House of Feng had petitioned to have Prince Qiang's military power decreased or, better yet, transferred to Prince Wei, who happened to be the nephew of Lord Feng's second wife, now the principal wife. Banyan had decided to keep Lady Chu Hua as far away from his General as possible. The girl could only be trouble.

Not liking being ignored, Chu Hua rushed to catch up to Banyan. "Hey, why are you ignoring me?"

Banyan, of course, did not realize his mistake, for the more he ignored Chu Hua, the angrier she got. Picking a sword off the rack they passed, Chu Hua held it like a baseball bat and whacked Banyan in the back of the knees, "when I speak, you listen," Chu Hua said as she took hold of Banyan's hair and pulled his head back, "when I command you obey."

As Chu Hua raised the sword to strike Banyan and arrow shot towards her, she dodged it in time, "who dares?" Chu Hua screamed.

The Prince stood not more than ten feet away, bow and arrow aimed at her head.

Chu Hua looked death in the eyes and smiled; it seemed that while she now possessed a new body, her previous body's reflexes had transferred along with her memories. Chu Hua decided she would make the Prince train her one way or another, so she did what she was best at.

"Does the Prince wish to play with me?" Chu Hua taunted the Prince; it seemed these people were wary of her, but she did not care.

"Do you admit your mistake?" the Prince asked. How dare this woman act so boldly in his camp? Did she believe because she was the young Lady of the Feng Manor, he would not hesitate to kill her?

Chu Hua raised a brow, such antiquated people, she thought to herself before saying, "why doesn't your highness come closer and tell me my grand mistake?"

Prince Qiang's patience was not something to be tested, but considering the girl's boldness, Banyan said nothing and instead thought it would be good if his highness could teach the daughter of the Feng Manor some manners that would be great. As if reading Banyan's arrogant thoughts, Chu Hua unsheathed her sword and tossed the scabbard at Banyan's head. When Banyan turned to glare at Chu Hua, she bit at the hair as if taking a bite out of him. There was something wrong with the girl Banyan thought.

"Well, Prince," Chu Hua called out, "will you dance with me or not?"
