Chapter 2 - To question

A sudden lurch, and the half-asleep couple jerked forwards. Ophelia had it lucky but Thalia, not so quite; she was in the middle seat and was violently faceplanted into the rear of a seat - ouch. Air was expelled from her lungs and she felt gutted, experiencing an overwhelming sense of nausea and dizziness, until she fainted...

Panicking, Ophelia tried lifting her up, but it was to no use. "I can't just leave her here" she thought as she bent down with an intent to resuscitate her. She had to remain calm, "But I don't even know how to do that!" she blurted out. By now, the other students were filing out of the bus and the two of them were soon the only passengers. With a sudden snap, Thalia woke up and staggered upwards. She saw her teary-eyed friend kneeling over her and proceeded to lift them both up. "Hey silly don't cry, I'm fine" she remarked. Ophelia blinked and returned back to her usual self, "you sure?" she asked. They both walked to the front of the bus, supporting each other and Thalia glanced towards the left: the bus driver sneered with contempt, sporting the same look he had given her a while ago. "Fuck you" she thought to herself with rage coursing through her veins. "What's the matter with him, did he do that on purpose?" The two stepped out the bus and soon to parted ways.

She was in her homeroom, smearing out single blood streaks on her lips, while the economics teacher was droning on about some bullshit at the front of the class. Unlike others, she had preferred the window seat because she valued her personal space and was treated no less like an 'outcast' anyway. The sun was warmly looking down on her and she started to feel warm inside, a soothing feeling lulling her to sleep. Wistfully, she glanced out the window and made out some silhouettes in the distance. "What the.." she fiercely blinked her eyes in rapid succession, and they were no longer there, as if disappearing in thin air. Thalia was seriously freaked out by now: the dream, the creepy bus driver, the planned out injury and now the reappearance of the same mysterious figures. She started to question her sanity "What the hell is going on? Is there something wrong with me? Why does the bus driver look kinda hot?" Throughout the course of the lesson, she had zoned out.

The rest of that day progressed fairly quickly, which was lucky for her since she was diagnosed with ADHD and couldn't maintain focus for long periods of time. Now she was walking back to the school gates in slight pursuit of her bus buddy. A slight breeze ruffled her unkempt brown strands of hair; it reflected her personality, chaotic yet strong. She knew that she had to deal with whatever that was going on. The yellow lamps flickered weakly but what was the need for them when the moon was emerging out? It was a dazzling bright orb against the intoxicating red hues of the setting sky. She listened to the sound of leaves crunching softly under her shoes and as soon as she completed her solitary walk, she was greeted by a beaming Ophelia. "Well what happened with you missus?" Ophelia blushed again and the two took their seat at the back. This time, it was a different driver, thank god. Nothing out of the ordinary seemed to happen.
