"Speaking of your beta, how is he?" she asked while looking at Darrell curiously. Cyrene did not have much impression regarding Darrell's beta.
The most unforgettable one, however, was when he called her suddenly to meet Darrell. Aside from that, Cyrene did not know much about him.
However, Cyrene did not have time to think further as, as soon as she asked, she noticed that Darrell stiffened, and then he had a complicated expression on her face. He frowned and then turned solemn. He looked like he was stressed and concerned, just like Lucas earlier.
Seeing him like this, Cyrene could not help but feel concerned. She got closer to him. A part of her wanted to reach out, but she was still having second thoughts.
In the end, she grabbed his hand and then squeezed it hard as if trying to comfort him.
