"Does that matter at this point?" Jumanah asked, wondering what her mother was trying to mean and being slightly angry that her mother was talking in parables instead of just giving a straightforward answer.
"It really matters because if you are a leader who is a parent, then you will choose the clan over your own daughter, but if you are a parent who is a leader, then you will put your daughter before your clan. Both decisions will involve much sacrifice. The first choice is you will be sacrificing your daughter, and the second you will be sacrificing your leadership position because the hunters might call for a meeting with the headboard of the hunters wanting to challenge you for the leadership position you hold," Zarola explained to her daughter.
As if on cue Jumanah's phone started ringing, and her husband's name appeared on the screen.
She wanted to hang upon him, but the look that her mother gave her had her picking up the phone.
