Chapter 1 - 1

Someone was walking behind her. "Don't be afraid," he said. She didn't know his name. Thoughts were floating from her mind. She used to be a doctor, but now she is dead. Lucy died in an accident, she didn't know if she was dreaming or if this was reality. She could smell the blood from where she stood. "I can't be dead," she said, "what about the wedding? It was only a few days away." Lucy cried at the thought.

"Yes, it's sad to hear that. Time goes so fast that you forget to think twice sometimes. My name is Andrew, I want to help you through this, if you'll let me."

The two stood on a dark and lonely road. She spoke in a quiet voice, "Please, help me. I don't recall dying or what's going to happen next. I am frightened, sir." "Are you sure you want to do this? If I help you through this next thing, you need to know that it will hurt. I wish I could sugarcoat the pain, but I can't," he said. "I want you to come with me. If I am to save your life, you will want to be away from here. We do need to go over your death for you to understand what we are doing," Andrew said.

They walked a mile or two before ending up in front of a brick house. "This is my house, come in?" She saw a cup filled with red liquid. "Is that blood?" "Yes, I am a vampire who can change the fates of the lost souls. You clearly have unfinished business. All you have to do is drink this and relive your accident." Andrew handed her the cup. "You need to come to terms with your death, acknowledge what you will be."

"There was another female in the driver's seat, her name was Erika. She was crying, her boyfriend cheated on her and took her money. They were together for years before she found out. She had a gun, she wanted to kill herself over him, I tried to stop her." After a few moments of silence, Andrew was concerned. "Are you alright?" "Yeah, I saved her but then a driver ran the red light. That is the moment I died." The pain was agonizing.

He walked up next to her as she cried, and he gave her a hug. The warm embrace made her smile, for some time she had felt alone. She could have stopped the embrace, but she wouldn't stopped. When he finally decided to stop the embrace, he pointed towards the cup of blood. "Like I said, this will hurt. However, you can be somewhat alive again. The only thing is you won't be able to live the life you had." "Who are you, Andrew? Why are you helping me?" "You're beautiful, almost too beautiful to die so young." The moment grew awkward, she wanted her fiancée but she died. Now she can live again, but with new rules.

She took the cup and drank from it. She could feel the pain from every nerve in her body dying. The screams could be heard from the kitchen. After the pain subsided, her skin was ice cold. She didn't need to breathe anymore. She, too, was a vampire. He became entranced by her beauty. Andrew watched her for some time, but had to wait until her death to turn her. He's afraid to admit this, but he was falling in love with Lucy. Her beauty overtook him, her smile grew when she became immortal. Her world was now peaceful, she had no worries in the world in this moment.

"How do you feel." "Andrew, I feel incredible. One moment I was sad and alone, now I feel invincible and strong." She returned his embrace, she felt all of her nerves explode with immense pleasure. "What is that? It feels like something I have never felt before." "Your nerves are crystallized, so when you feel one nerve, you feel them all. It feels incredible, trust me I know." She appreciated his help, she thanked him in a way he would understand. She gave him a kiss on his lips. She thought she tasted cherries, then she realized what she wanted. Now, underneath the full moon, they continued to kiss deeper. She felt every touch, but this wasn't her. Lucy pulled away from him, she took a few steps back. "We have to go now," Andrew said. "Where are we to go?" "The lair, that's where everyone meets for dinner. I can assume you are hungry?" Lucy nodded.

On the way to the lair, Andrew decided to take a shortcut. They went down a side street that was black as the night. "I have an idea," Andrew said. What if I taught you to hunt, that way if I'm not there to feed you." The two of them were silent as someone approached them. It was now the middle of the night when the world was asleep. Andrew grabbed him from behind and bit him. He handed Lucy the limp body as she fed upon it. Her face lit up when she was finished. Andrew didn't realize how much that turned him on. Lucy began to giggle.

"It's like magic, I feel incredible Andrew." "Just call me Drew." She smile as she nodded. As they made it to the lair, she was about to meet her new family. "Sarah suffered from a nervous breakdown, she thinks she's a broken vampire." The blonde hair vampire was always on edge, she looked in every direction every chance she got. It was a shame that Sarah was like this, really a tragedy. "Is she trustworthy?" "Of course she is, or she wouldn't still be here." Lucy nodded. "Then there was Bo, he ran away when he realized what we were. I'm not sure what he made of his life. He truly was a gentleman." Drew and Lucy made it to the back room, this is where the victims would lay while the vampires fed. "Tommy is a bit of an ass, he was murdered in 1903." "So these simplistic people as ordinary as I died a terrible death and you saved them?" "Yes I did."

Lucy was taken with Drew. She walked up from behind him and kissed his neck as she wrapped her hands around his waist. He turned around and threw her back on the bed. She was never this heated but she wanted him. "Don't be afraid, Lucy. I will never hurt you, and we can be together for all of eternity." She used her super speed and ran back to his house. Like Sarah, Lucy had issues. Lucy was in denial.

Lucy was going to run away like Bo once did. She was about to write a letter when Drew walked in. "You were going to run away?" "Yeah, this isn't who I am Drew." "People change, Lucy. Death changes you. Yes, you were in love, but that's over now. You can love again. If you want, we can slow down. I apologize for overstepping my boundaries with you. It's been a while since I have been with anyone. The urge grows every moment of my day, especially now. I am attracted to you in a way I never have before. I give you my sincere apologies." Lucy grabbed his arm as he looked upset. She kissed him once more, this time, she wouldn't stop. She might be in denial, but she loved the feeling of belonging to someone.

"Lucy, if I'm going to live forever, I'd like you to be apart of it. Even as friends." She continued to kiss him, she felt like she was walking on air. Her faith in him kept her going. "Kiss me deeper, baby." Lucy did as Drew said. Sure they can start a fling, but she was still in denial. She wasn't ready to love someone else, she felt like a cheater.

The next morning, Lucy wakes up from her slumber. She's still cuddled up next to Drew. Though In denial, she was happy for a moment. Drew woke up seconds later. "Well that's a dream to wake up to. Good morning, beautiful." Good morning." "How do you feel now?" "I don't know who I am. I slept with a man that I don't even know. I don't regret it, but this isn't me." "Well I love this side of you." "Last night was amazing, sex has never felt so good." "I knew it was a whim, but you're right Lucy. Sex has never felt that good to me before. It was as if there were fireworks inside of me." "Drew, I'm scared of what the future holds." "I know, but I will protect you. I will also provide for you." Lucy smiled at the thought. Lucy got up and walked to the kitchen. She found some blood bags in the fridge, so she grabbed two of them and walked back into the room. She threw one at Drew. "Thank you for breakfast beautiful." "You're welcome." She winked at him. They finished the bags and threw them on the table. Lucy didn't realize that some dripped down her body. Drew looked at her for a moment and kissed her stained skin. He licked the blood that dribbled into her. She moaned with excitement.

A few hours later, they had finished rolling in the bed. She got dressed and fixed her hair. "Lucy, you are the most beautiful vampire in the land." She blushed. She grabbed the paper from the lawn. She dropped a tear when she read that her fiancée had already moved on and married someone else. He married Erika, who was her best friend. She wanted to kill her, to feed on her. Lucy wanted to murder her best friend.
