"Why are the lights off? Where's Lauren?" Kat asked
Lauren switched on the lights, earning a gasp from Kat and everyone else
"Woah. I did not see that coming" Simi admits.
The whole place was decorated and brightly lifted. The chocolate cake was on the table, presents wrapped up in a corner.
"Is this where we say surprise?" Lauren asked
"Happy birthday Kat" Simi gives her a hug
"My goodness! You remembered!" Kat said in shock.
"More like she forgot. Then remembered and forced me to set up the impromptu birthday surprise and texted me a whole bunch of stuff to get you as a present" Lauren sips her wine
"What problems do you have with keeping something to yourself?" Simi asked in annoyance
"Oh. It ought to be a secret. My bad" Lauren said in sarcasm.
"Thank you anyways. You've been a great help" Simi replied
"Keep that sarcasm to yourself" Lauren snapped
"Why are you two arguing?" Kat asked
