Yaromir was chuckling his ass off as he looked at me. He continued shaking his head as he looked up at the sky as dusk was approaching.
"You bastard, let me get the guys, what are you even going to do Bratan?"
I couldn't help but chuckle out a response, "Yaromir, we need guns right, and ammo, if we run into a wolf pack or those boars, we would need the firepower."
His chuckles turned into full out laughter as he shook his head at me, "All right go ask Kira, I'll tell the guys we are rolling out tomorrow morning at dawn ok?"
I just nodded and watched Yaromir walk off.
There was still one feature that I wanted to add to the Volga. I went back into the garage and pulled out the skull. Reaching into one of the work benches I could find a box of duct tape and some screws.
I took about a two-foot-long piece of tape and twisted it into a spiral, and then fed it through the eye sockets. After that, I went to the hood of the Volga, I took some Black Insulating tape that was in the bin, and after some work, I got it attached strong enough that it wouldn't fall off, but so that I could take the skull off if I needed too.
After my little patch with the Bukavec skull on the hood, I went and closed up the garage.
The group would need about 10 Ak's, a few pistols, and hopefully enough ammo.
The walk was relaxing as most people were inside prepping to go to sleep. I went up the stairs to the door and knocked, hoping Stefan would answer.
I waited for a few seconds before the door was opened and Stefan looked at me confused,
"What can I do for you Bratan? It's getting a little late no?"
I chuckled and just looked at the ground shaking my head "Stefan, we have to leave tomorrow, we need to work as fast as we can and are just going down the list. Anyways I need some guns and ammo for the crew, could I take a look at what you have?"
Stefan stood there for a moment thinking with his heavy eyes, "Sure, sure, let's go and take a look, you will have to pay for the ammo you use and give the guns back."
I just nodded and walked inside as he took my to the side of the stairs that led up to Kira's office. There was a door hidden out of view of anyone coming into the building.
Stefan walked over and opened it and motioned for me to follow him down the stairs.
He grabbed a candle and lit it and led me down the stairs. The stairs creaked as the two of us walked down.
At the bottom of the stairs there was a cold hard concrete floor. I could barely see Stefans's face with the candlelight. He then turned towards me, "Bratan stay there let me get the lights on."
As he said this, I could see the light of the candle disappear and for a while I was in darkness. Then the lights turned on and shone like a sun was right up in front of me as I shut my eyes to protect them from the bright glare.
As I opened my eyes, I could see the armory. It was a long room with three aisles, almost like a grocery store, and each isle was about 20 feet long. There were rifles and AK-47s in the left isle, the middle isle had shotguns and pistols on the left side and some 9mm and shotgun ammunition on the right shelves. The right most isle had Assault rifle ammo and rifle ammo as well as some grenades, they even had anti-tank and anti-personnel landmines. Along the walls were body armor and what looked like field uniforms, along with an old American .50cal and a few belts of ammo.
I was stunned it was a lot of firepower and all hidden under this house. Stefan laughed at my astonishment. "Yaromir was the same when I first saw him, Leningrad wants this base to succeed. So, they have spent a lot on us, and we have been doing very well, now even better thanks to you."
I could see the look of delight on Stefans's face, this man had worked his ass off and no one except a select few could appreciate the effort, I was lucky enough to be one of them now. But I had a job to do.
"So, I just check out the weapons and ammo with you? Or what?"
Stefan chuckled "Check out all the ammo, guns, and armor, if you need it, with me, then when you come back, we will figure out how much you will need to pay, obviously since you are also doing this for the settlement, you will be paid as well, and depending on what you bring back there can be a bonus. Since you were the one to discover the vehicles, you will get the finding credit, they can do whatever they want with the cars."
I just nodded and went into the armory, first I grabbed 15 body-armor kits, 12 Ak-47's, enough ammo so that each gun will have 3 clips, and 6 pistols, each with 2 clips.
As I was going around, Stefan wrote down what I was taking and logging it. After everything was said and done, we began to haul it up the stairs to his office.
While we were taking up the Ak's I had an idea, "Hey Stefan, can we use the office area downstairs to go over our plan? That way when we can keep the gear here and distribute it."
Stefan walked up the stairs behind me for a moment completely silent. It was a little unnerving, but then he responded, "Sure, tell Yaromir, I will be heading home in an hour, so be quick."
I was ecstatic, he couldn't see my face, but I was grinning from ear to ear, "Thank you Stefan, after we finish, I will get them here."
"Bratan, just go, all that is left is the ammo and that will be two trips max for me, getting them here will be harder it will be fine."
He set the Assault Rifles down and turned to face me, "I can handle it so please go, that way everyone can get to bed sooner."
I just smiled and simply said, "Thanks Stefan, I should be back in 20, max."
I ran off to go get Yaromir, it was starting to come together now.
