Chapter 13 - Where To? No. 013

I left the city and went to the house on the outskirts, it was a miracle that this place wasn't irradiated from the bomb blast.

I know had to come up with a serious plan to survive.

I thought for a couple of hours and decided that there were three options that made sense.

Option one: go to the coast and head south, following it.

Option two: go to the coast and go north.

And finally Option three: go inland and head to Petrovadosk to try and figure out some more information.

Option two was pretty much out of question as it was less densely populated, which is a lower possibility for me to figure out what is going on.

Option two was a similar scenario, but eventually I would be heading west, and into Siberia, so not the best plan.

Option three was the only one that made sense. So option three it was!

I began to pack everything onto the bike, the old man even had a few plastic bags in his house! I wrapped the 6 manuals and the journal and placed them in my bag with all my other stuff and supplies. After a quick meal I grabbed a map and set it down on the table. I was in the southwestern part of Murmansk there was another city south of where I was called Kola, I will head there and then embark on my journey.

I left, saying goodbye to the house as I locked the door. Turning away from my first real home since I woke up, I did a final check to make sure I hadn't left anything inside, and after tying down my bag, I left, heading south to the next city.

I have been biking for 5 hours and I can see the outskirts of a city, I am pretty sure it is Kola.

Entering the city with my bike in tow, I was greeted with half of a sign the read Kol-

wel- that was enough reassurance, this city was in worse shape than Murmansk, as I could only see 10 buildings that were standing and 6 of them were ruins that were impossible to enter. I went to the first building and cleared it, bringing my stuff inside, luckily it was a department store. The Geiger counter wasn't reading any dangerous levels of radiation so I sat down to learn how to make gunpowder, because without powder you don't have bullet, amd without bullets a gun is just a potentially dangerous toy. I read and it was actually a pretty short manual, all you needed was saltpeter, charcoal, and sulfur. The book read make sure to have 75 parts saltpeter, 15 parts charcoal, and 10 parts sulfur. So that would be helpful in the future. It was pretty easy to remember and felt familiar.

After my quick lesson I checked the back of the store. I found the best loot I had found in a while, 1kg of saltpeter and 1kg of sulfer in little bags, so all I would need is a reason, I would definitely need a lot more saltpeter, but this was nice to have. I left and checked a house, there wasn't much in there. The third building looked like a little store.

As I walked into the building I could see a beautiful sign, Maksim's hunting shop.
