Yun was hastily dragged inside. As soon as Nanren slammed the door shut, she approached him and quickly asked.
"Do you like him?"
Yun "..."
He was startled and asked, "From whom?"
"She is from Lin Me," Nanren pursed her lips and looked at her intently, waiting for her reply.
Yun "..."
"Nanren... what are you thinking about?"
All she really wanted to do was laugh, but she suppressed the urge as she couldn't guarantee that the other person would definitely not pout if she did it now.
"How could I..."
Yun paused and did not speak.
Oh, she meant to say I'm a girl, but her gaze shifted to the mirror next to her. He felt ashamed, even for a moment. Because maybe it would have been more believable if Nanren had said that.
"Yes you ?"
Nanren, on the other hand, tensed even more, seeing that he hesitated. He clenched his hand into a fist and pressed his lips tightly. If Yun accepted this, what could he do? All the confidence he had came from the fact that Yun hadn't had any girlfriends by his side until now and had no such intentions.
Yun waved his hand at work and spoke as if it were no big deal. "She's my friend"
"I have no feelings for him"
She reassured him by placing her hand on his chest, but Nanren continued to stare nervously at her, manically holding her arms with both hands.
His worry was palpable, and his haste seemed to infect even Yun.
"Really ?"
Nanren continued as though clearly still disbelieving. "But you, no he's a nice guy and..."
Everyone says you look good, he swallowed these words and couldn't say it. Nanren had not forgotten the first time Lin Mei and Yun had met. At the campsite, the fact that everyone thought the two of them suited him was still on his mind like yesterday, and it kept bothering him in his thoughts.
"Really" Yun didn't think much and spoke clearly. Seeing him so agitated and uncomfortable was obvious because he didn't like to be misunderstood. He could have used this matter to discourage Nanren, but this matter was unfair to Mei from the very beginning and she didn't like ways like this.
One lie gives birth to many lies and then gives him a headache.
"But but.."
Nanren was still insecure.
"Yun don't lie." Nanren raised her voice, as if her emotions suddenly became even more unstable. Her eyes were red and she continued shaking him.
"Do not lie to me!"
It was as if he saw the day in the future when two people laughed and sent him the wedding invitation. His mood, which became even more unstable, made his voice tremble, causing him to overreact a bit.
Yun, on the other hand, was shaken by him, uncomfortable. His eyebrows furrowed even more. Why would you lie?
"Why not ?"
Nanren replied, "How could it be?"
"Why not, obviously everybody says, him and you-" he still had a hard time saying it.
She was sobbing and it was predicted that if the wall had not been soundproofed, her neighbors would have called the police and smashed the door.
He took Yun's inability to respond in surprise as an acknowledgment and connivance, and collapsed to the ground.
Yun couldn't keep up with the sudden scene from the very beginning, and even if he did speak, he could still stare blankly at the scene, stunned not knowing what to say.
Nanren, on the other hand, felt the silence driving him even more insane. God only knew how much he had collapsed in such a short time. All sorts of thoughts came to mind. In seconds, he thought of the future as if describing a long year. He wanted to say 'don't exaggerate', 'let's not think about it,' he consoled himself. 'Okay, so what? Let go of this ridiculous issue, you should have put an end to it from the very beginning.
He pressed his lips together and wanted to say 'okay'. 'I will leave this matter' but when he opened his mouth he saw that he could not express it even if he thought easily.
He was laughing and kidding himself. How could it go so low? To the point of desperately begging for someone else's love? It was dishonorable before, and many times it was forced and ridiculed. But this time he was putting himself in this situation. "I am pathetic," he said. Why did he have to hold on to something so stupid? He couldn't stop, he seemed addicted, and it was driving him into even more awkward nonsense.
Indeed, even he thought it was ridiculous. And even that, he couldn't put an end to it. 'Love or whatever boxing...' he thought, this nonsense always reminding him of something. All he could say was that he just couldn't suppress this thing and that it was even starting to spiral out of control.
Like a moth flying into a fire, the situation he was in was utterly ugly and impossible. As if things couldn't get any more complicated, he was also desperately holding on to it.
He could not comprehend his own condition, he only knew that he was out of breath. He felt that he was in an absurdly ridiculous and equally pathetic situation.
''Why?!"
Why am I continuing this nonsense?
His question was to himself, but Yun reacted to his constant questioning while he was already bewildered by his state of mind. His impulsive answer had suddenly plunged the world into a deep silence.
"Because I don't like girls"
I'm not a lesbian, she wanted to say, but when she realized the situation she was in again, she realized that she couldn't explain any more. "I mean, it's not like that, but-"
It seemed like he could hold it anywhere, and for a moment he couldn't explain it.
Nanren looked up and said, "Really?" When asked, even Yun, stunned by her charms, agreed without thinking.
Seeing him shaking his head, Nanren was even more silent than he was.
***
"They've been in for a while," Limma said.
Just as Lin Mei was about to answer, the door opened and Yun came out from inside. Nanren, however, did not follow. As Yun closed the door, everyone squinted their eyes suspiciously, as if they wanted to see behind the door.
Naraf studied Yun's face, he was absolutely expressionless no matter how he looked at it, and he seemed unaffected by whatever his brother said.
Contrary to his appearance, Yun knew how to sit stupefied. Even his steps seemed to have become more messy.
As soon as he sat down now, his first thought was that when the AI attacked him, it was possible that his IQ was more affected than his body. How could he make such a stupid mistake twice? Well, let's say this time he was influenced by Nanren, but what about revealing his identity at school? So right now he definitely had the urge to take a serious look at the data and see if there was a decline in his intelligence.
Let's assume he had a blast while at school, let's assume that, so what was going on inside?!
With zero morale, he frowned and frowned. This matter was so confusing that he ignored the 4 attentive people who were focusing on him.
Naraf finally saw his not-so-good expression and sighed, looking at the door again. Nanren turned out to be one-sided and hopeless. It was no surprise that he didn't come here.
Lin Mei felt pitiful for Nanren, while Uvli flagged this issue as the couple fighting as a result of jealousy.
Limma, on the other hand, looked up, completely curious and confused, trying to make sense of what had happened. Then she thought to herself, she had guessed right! The two would fight a bad battle!!
Lima "!!!"
"I-I forgot, my mom told me not to come home late," he said, and he quickly left without looking back, forgetting that his mother was not even there.
It's a shame Yun wasn't in the head to follow through. Naraf and Mei also slowly backed off to give them some privacy.
Left alone in the room, Yun pulled out the phone and, unable to resist the impulse, dialed the call.
"Hello?"
"Evan, you're sending me all the data about my chip, now"
"Oh, what, yeah??"
The phone hung up on his face, and Evan stared blankly at the phone. "Did the AI finally screw it up…" he muttered, sending the file containing the chip data to Yun.
Yun, on the other hand, very earnestly clicked on the sent data and scrutinized it without blinking, reading it slowly and aloud like a primary school student just learning to read.
