As the pair pair walked through the mess of foliage, poisonous leaves (counteracted by scales), bugs trying to bite them (also counteracted by scales), and the occasional large bity leech (dodged and killed), Urraina attempted to get more info on her possible future home since she doesn't want to live in the jungle anymore.
On the way, they encountered multiple insects, some they ran away from like a giant green-red striped mantis, a stampede of dog-sized springtails (think fully grown chihuahua), and an angry black ladybug with a stinger. Others, they killed and collected along the way like live aphids for snacks and a few beetle larvae to have a meal at the town.
"So... uh, how long is it gonna take and how much of the way you think we are on the path?" Marinarlk is a small bit stunned by this question, with his tail straightening, but still answers. ^I think...uh... about three quarters of the way there? If you were a bit farther it'd take a whole starcycle. It's gonna take about two more hours though, since there may be traps laid out by the hunters.^
"So... Why haven't we seen any traps yet?" asked Urraina. ^Maybe it's because of the pulsating trail we're following? It's a direct root of the mothertree after all, natural insect repellent." Marinarlk answered. "Anyway, does this 'mothertree' have a name? I've never heard of it before." ^Oh yeah, it's name is Yerbanora, the youngest of the main world trees. Yggdrasil is above us with the ability to do magic and lots of residents, and Yggardael is the highest one with the select residents and draconians that are rumored to be able to bend reality.^. "Bend reality, that's awesome! What do you have to do to become a draconian?" ^Yerbanora said you need to have good talents, a strong mentality and mental power, with a few more details Yggardael didn't tell it.^. "SHEESH, sounds like a lot of requirements."
The pair arrived at a large, stone wall with crystalline roots intertwined between the bricks. ^This used to be a homo sapient settlement, but we drove them out and settled here a long time ago when Yerbanora was still a regular-sized tree in what is supposed to be the center!^ "Wow, now can you go and get me some clothes so I don't go in the town like this?" Urraina pointed at her scanty pieces of carapace on her body. Marinarlk turned slightly red before saying, ^Yeah, forgot about that since I kinda got 'used' to it.^. And ran into the large, gate like entrance. "Guess I'll wait here, and see what this tail crystal can do." She stabbed her tail into the ground, and she felt it growing heavier as the plants within a 3-ft radius withered and died. "Life absorption, neat!"
{Small 2-3 hour time skip!}
^i'm back and I have some clo- why are there dead patches of grass near you?^ "stabbed my tail into the ground and it somehow absorbed the life outta it." ^...^ "...". ^that seems awesome but now put this on, since you'll have to see the mothertree soon.^. "Alright, I'm gonna go into the forest to change, like the edge. Don't get curious else I'll stab my tail into your throat." Urraina walked backwards towards the forest, giving Marinarlk the 'I see you' glare and changed her clothes in a tall bush.
She came out immediately after putting on the dress and she kept the carapace in between her legs since there was no underwear in the clothes she was given.
"So, explain to me why- oh wait no nevermind a male going into a female's clothing store is awkward enough, a lingerie one would be plain on terrible." ^yeah... let's go in now... uh, Urraina.^. The two walked in through the gate and into the bustling town.
