Maya had been training non-stop because she couldn't make her wolf to calm, knowing their mate was close by.
Frederick came over to meet her at the training arena, and he noticed she was overly working herself.
"Can you tell me what's on your mind?".
Maya turned around to see Frederick walking towards her, she stopped for a while and waited for him to get to her.
"Are you very anxious about the battle?".
Maya nodded in agreement, though deep down it was more than just being anxious about the battle.
"You've met your mate, haven't you?"
Maya asked with a smirk on her face.
Frederick seemed to be uncomfortable with the question as he kept shifting on his seat.
"Are you surprised she's a human?"
That made him clear his throat before answering.
"I'm very surprised, but I think she's beautiful, and strong too".
Maya gasped seeing how Frederick complimented his mate, it's a given that he liked her the moment he saw her.
