"Maisy, are you in a better mood today?" Jay asked patiently.
Maisy nodded and didn't speak.
"You don't have to care about what my mother says. We don't have to consider her thoughts," Jay explained and his tone was filled with worry.
"I should go." Maisy forced a smile. "I still have to handle the project."
"Do you need me to tell Bruce? I can..."
"Jay." Maisy stopped and interrupted him. "The relationship between you and I is no longer the same. You should understand, right?"
"Maisy, I know you are still upset about what happened recently. I promise that I will follow you wherever you go in the future. I won't interfere with your matters anymore. I will give you some space, okay?" Jay felt that there was something wrong with the development of the situation.
