Chapter 9 - Dear Adam - Elisabeth Hospital

At 10 am Hasan and Khadijah arrived at the hospital. Elisabeth. They came looking for his daddy. They immediately asked the hospital receptionist.

A receptionist gave out the patient's room number in Ayass' name. They immediately ran to the room that the receptionist informed.

Hasan felt an intense longing, as did Khadijah. They can't wait to meet their biological father.

Khadijah and Hasan stepped into the VIP room number 5. They slowly stepped on their feet and then stopped in front of the door of the room. They both felt very nervous. They hoped that behind the door was their father.

Hasan opened the door. But apparently he saw in his eyes that there was no face like his father at all. If Khadijah also felt very disappointed when she did not find her father. She felt she was being lied to.

Khadijah and Hasan saw a man lying on a bed in the VIP room number 5, not having the same face as his father. They both felt very disappointed at that time. The feelings started to mix.

"San, that's not our father, I think the receptionist at the front gave the wrong room info."

The slightly coughing female voice startled the two of them who were thinking about where their father was. Then they looked back to see a doctor who was the same age as their mother.

"You're not in the wrong room, you are the sons and daughters of lord Ayass, aren't you?"

Khadijah and Hasan only admitted to handing over to answer a question from the doctor. They did not see at all that their father was there. They both try to think positively.

"Introduce me, doctor Franda, who treats both of your fathers. I know that both of you will be shocked to hear the news that your father is still alive in the accident. Your father just woke up from a coma. So I can only contact you now. I'm sorry for changing your father's face into a stranger's face for you two," Franda's doctor began to explain what had happened to their father.

Khadijah and Hasan can only surrender. Because they didn't know that there was such a real miracle to help their father. There was even a second chance to be reunited with their father.

"Both of you fathers had such severe facial disfigurement. So we from the medical team at this hospital are trying our best to make your father's face not look scary. Our medical team also performed the plastic surgery without the consent of your father's family. But if it's too late, you'll get an infection on your face and it's never possible for a facial surgery to get better," said doctor Franda, who was trying to explain the chronology of what happened.

Khadijah and Hasan could only be silent listening to the explanation from doctor Franda. They still have gratitude for the miracle that has been given by God.

Khadijah who always believed that her father was still alive. Although many people say that the body buried on the ground that they have seen is not the father of her but the father of someone else. Therefore she will never be sure if her father died in the accident. "I feel very grateful when God actually answered my prayer by giving her a second chance to meet my father." Tears started falling instantly because she didn't expect to get a second chance at all.

"Previously we from the other medical team apologize to you two for being presumptuous to replace your father's face with someone else's face. All because of my initiative to immediately do the plastic surgery. Then press I provide a photo of his late brother. Then I immediately to do it so it doesn't take too long. Moreover, it is too difficult for me to find out about your father's family," said Franda looking at the two of them. She knew what both of them had been through so hard.

""So dad now has a foreign face?" they both said at the same time while looking at Doctor Franda's face. Actually Hasan and Khadijah did not mind the problem but then their mother would never be able to recognize their father's face.

"Yes, your father is having amnesia. And, as for his memory, we don't know when he will return, only a miracle can restore your father's memory." Doctor Franda explained that Ayass also had amnesia in part of the contents of his head.

Hasan and Khadijah, feel happy, but also feel sad. They felt this was an ordeal, and what if his father's memory returned to ask their mother.

"You go in, meet your father. Maybe your arrival hastens the recovery process."

They smiled and hoped so, they also hoped that they could be back together as a whole family.

" I really miss my father. " Khadijah misses her father very much. Even she still remembers some bits of her past when she played with her father. Everything was mixed between feelings of happiness or sadness when her father's face had turned into the face of a stranger. But she hoped that feeling would never possibly go away.

They both had arrived near their father's bed. The feeling of longing was starting to get mixed up and could never even be expressed in words though. Khadijah and Hasan were really waiting for that moment. Tears fell from her eyes because they were really very happy to be reunited with their biological father.

"Sir, your sons and daughters have arrived," said doctor Franda to Ayass.

Ayass started to slowly open his eyes, he saw one young man and one young girl.

"Is he my daughter?" Ayass muttered in his heart.

They just nodded and immediately hugged his father. In fact, virsha's song about longing echoed.

They hugged each other, even a deep longing was very passionate in a meeting point between feelings that could never be expressed in words other than gratitude to Allah. They felt that all the opportunities that came like a miracle that just flew by.

"Dad, let's go home."

Khadijah asked Ayass to come with her, on the other hand Ayass was looking for another figure.

"Father, must be looking for mother?"

Ayass was silent, it was true that he was looking for a woman in his dreams, who else if not Rania Medina.

"Mother, can't come because I'm busy."

The disappointment of not being able to meet the woman he loves so much, even though all memories are lost, but not for the image of the woman whose name is Rania Medina.

"I stay first, because I still have patients."

"Okay, doctor," said Hasan.

AYASS POV

I saw a ray of my most beautiful light, although I can't remember clearly about them, but this is a starting point for my efforts to restore my memory.

My heart is beating very fast, I feel warm. They are my children. And, I can feel closeness to them.

Blood is thicker in an inner relationship between a child and his father. I'm happy to see them back, but something is missing. Maybe, I miss Rania Medina, my wife.

I miss not seeing each other, but I always chant his name, so he's the one who never makes me amnesia. Oh, my daughter, may we meet again as a whole family.

Pov Khadijah

How can I explain to daddy about a bitter truth as bitter and as dense as an espresso double shoot.

The story of mother and father has indeed passed, but what if everything is not over yet.

I looked at daddy in hopes of meeting mom, but I'm not sure if daddy had to swallow the bitter truth.

Hasan and I looked at each other, throwing a question at each other.

"Why are you guys?"

We just smiled, even though we had to exchange bitter news for fake smiles.

"Even though daddy misses your mother" my father took a deep breath, I know how it feels. The bond of blood is stronger than any other bond.

"San, why do you look so nervous, during daddy's absence, something big happened in our family?" My father was starting to get suspicious of both of us.

"Dad, nothing happened, we're just happy, the reality is on our side. And, it turns out that my hunch is also right that daddy is still alive, although in another face" I replied.

"Could you call your mother?"

What kind of request? What should I do? dilemma yes. Hasan and I looked at each other. Maybe, that fact will destroy daddy's feelings.

"Dad, Mother is difficult to contact, because she is very busy."

"Yes, dad. Hasan has also been trying to contact my mother since yesterday."

"Okay, daddy just miss your mother."

"Dad, mother must also miss daddy, believe me that mother loves daddy" I tried to lie to daddy, even though it was very hard, but I didn't want daddy's health to be disturbed. Lying for a good, Islam also teaches it.

I'm stuck and in a dilemma of a lie or a truth. But, on the other hand we both agreed to hide the fact.

We also want to be that family, but the situation is reversed, God has given the best scenario, even though it makes things complicated.

Tests of patience keep coming in our family, good news as well as worst news.

We were forced to lie to daddy, because it wasn't time for everything to be revealed. We know that daddy is still recovering, but we will soon bring him to live with us.

Longing for father is now cured, and we feel happy, because it turns out that the body is not father, but who knows who it belongs to.

The return of my father made my life and Khadijah happier.

Pov Ayass

I looked suspiciously at my two children, apparently harboring a big secret, and I tried to urge them, but they were silent for a moment.

My suspicions about Rania Medina, the mother of my children, they didn't even try to contact her.

I tried to get rid of those negative thoughts, because I only wished that I could unite in family ties.

Suddenly a memory of my past appeared, I remember vaguely about him. And, I remember the two faces I called Rania, but which face is Rania Medina in?

The cramping in my head felt so broken that everything went black again. Memories that make me feel strange.

In the inpatient room, there was panic, Ayass's condition seemed to have dropped. In fact, Khadijah began to cry in Hasan's arms. He was afraid that something would happen to his father again.

"You two wait outside first," said the doctor Franda.

"I don't want to, doc. Dijah wants to be with my father," Khadijah looked very stubborn. "I once accompanied my father, a doctor."

Hasan forcibly pulled Khadijah from his father's room. He took Khadijah to the mosque and took ablution water together to calm him down.

"Dijah, crying won't change anything, it's just a prayer to Allah who, God willing, will help our father recover," said Hasan.

Khadijah who was still sobbing while doing ablution. He hoped that his father would be okay.

After their ablution, they took the Qur'an, they read Surah Yassin for the healing of their father, then prayed to the prophet, followed by dhikr. They hoped that a miracle would come, when God listened to their sincere prayers in their hearts.

"At least, I embrace the prayer for my father's recovery," Khadijah thought as she sobbed.

"Only a savior and hope for mankind," Hasan thought.
