Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Captain Silverclaw! There's something happening in the chamber sir!" said the messenger running into the room.

"What? What chamber?" Captain Voctorn Silverclaw said trying to find out which one.

"The big chamber sir!" The messenger said and Captain Silverclaw rushed out of the room.

"Haidore, what's happening?" Captain Silverclaw said as he walked in. As always he is struck by the side of the six-pointed multicolored prism on the pedestal in the middle of the room. Then the murals etched into the walls by what could have only been the finest Dwarven Artisans or Magic.

But there's something different this time. The prism was beaming and pulsing in the hypnotic pattern casting rays of light in all colors and Hues all over the room. The awesome site was enhanced by the power that was radiating from the prism. The power was so magnanimous even the nearly impenetrable barrier that was protecting it was starting to disintegrate.

"I don't know what's happening it just started glowing." Haidore said frantically trying to figure out what was going on. "Maybe it woke up and is calling to someone or something or they are calling it."

"What do you mean it woke up? Does it think by itself?" Question Captain Silverclaw as he motioned toward the prism.

"It might. There's no way for me to know until I know what it is, and I'm sorry to say I don't know how to figure that out. For all I know there could be a rat blessed by one of the gods that got to close and cause this." The air started to hum just as he finished speaking.

One of the guards said, "I think I see something." As he took a step forward. Then another.

Just as his foot hit the ground the second time, as if in slow motion, sparks jump from one point to the next and a bolt of lightning laced with fire and water and brighter than anyone there had ever seen before shot from the prism striking the guards chest plate, immediately melting his armor and sending his burnt corpse into the wall behind him.

Everyone in the room froze. Upon seeing the lifeless body, they begin to panic and run away. Except for Haidore.

"It can't be." He said in deep thought and recognition of a scroll he hadn't looked at in years that described in detail the life and powers of a hero long past.

Captain Silverclaw grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out of the chamber. "What are you doing? Get the hell out of here." he yelled pushing Haidore into the passageway.

"No. We can't. Don't you understand what's happening Here?" Haidore yelled in excitement grabbing onto the captain and looking straight in the eye.

"What are you talkin about? What is that thing?" Captain Silverclaw said confused.

"Don't you remember the old stories? The ones about the King of the Midnight Sun?" Haidore responded releasing the captain.

"I remember some, but what does that have to do with this?" He said warily not sure how it would connect or if it was a good thing. There was something that Captain Silverclaw knew that most people didn't. But it wasn't sure how it would fit in.

Haidore started running down the hallway to his room saying "Come on, I'll show you."

He threw the door open and burst into his room that was lit by a single Candle on the nightstand by his bed and the torch he grabbed from outside his door. He went straight to the bookcase and grabbed an enormous old scroll from the top shelf. Then he rushed to the desk and with one arm swept everything on the floor in a jumbled mess and slammed the scroll on the desk.

"Now I'm sure you're aware the Kings Powers right?" Haidore asked rhetorically looking at Captain Silverclaw. "How he could manipulate the four elements and light and dark." He said holding the scroll from rolling on the floor. "How use them to destroy the Fae. Then afterwards he burst into what I've only read being described as '6 Suns' that fell to Earth and went underground to never be seen again."

"Yeah what about it?" Captain Silverclaw asked trying to understand.

"I think the prism is the rejoined pieces of the '6 Suns' that fell to Earth and the murals are the story of what happened." Said Haider.

"But how? How could no one know about them?" Asked Silverclaw.

"They probably rejoined and created the chamber with magic after they disappeared." Set Haidore. "That's the only thing I can think of."

"But why are they reacting now?" Captain Silverclaw asked trying to understand.

"I think the next king of the midnight sun has been chosen." Captain Silverclaw looked at Haidore with astonishment now understanding.
