Alexander cursed over and over again, the thunder roared angrily. He couldn't recall when was the last time someone punched him, not to mention a little boy. His grip on the steering wheel tightened.
Back in Leon's car, Sam couldn't stop tears flowing from her eyes. She glared outside the window blankly, the heavy rains and roaring thunder reminded her that evening, the day her life turned into a nightmare.
Skylar wrapped his hands around her sister tightly, he didn't know what to do anymore. Sam's parents were helpless as well, they couldn't imagine how she was feeling at the moment.
Mrs Sarah recalled how her daughter was excited when she joined university, she had so many dreams and goals. Her heart twisted in pain when those memories flashed in her mind. She closed her eyes slightly, exhaling deeply.
Mr Jason blamed himself for everything that happened to her daughter, he's a failure, he didn't protect his family as he promised himself. He has failed as a father and husband, he doesn't deserve to be forgiven. Mr Jason's head throbbed mercilessly when those thoughts flashed in his head.
He couldn't stop blaming himself, he felt like disappearing from this unfair world and going somewhere far, where nobody knew his name.
Mr Jason felt ashamed to glance her daughter direct in the eye, how can he face her daughter when he's such a big failure? he wondered. His stomach swirled countless times, he wasn't feeling comfortable to witness her daughter crying nonstop.
Edward was driving on a slippery tarmac road carelessly, he wanted to die because his life was meaningless. He never knew love hurts that much, he had never tried falling in love before. He blamed himself for not confessing his love to Sam earlier.
" You're stupid Edward, that's what you get for not confessing how you felt for her. You deserve to feel all the pain this ruthless world has to offer." Edward laughed himself loudly, he was going crazy.
He was like a teenager who's sick for love, he felt like he can't move on without Sam by his side.
" This hurts so much." Edward bursted into tears and laughter, he had mixed reactions. He didn't know whether he should laugh out loud or cry bitterly.
He massaged his masculine chest soothingly as if the pain inside his chest would subsidise by doing so.
He was still driving like a maniac when he saw a familiar figure from afar, the lady was drenched completely. She was walking on the road carelessly as if she isn't scared to die.
Edward's eyebrows knotted, he slowed down his highly speed car to have a better look. He drove passed the drenched girl and stopped the car in Infront of her.
" Diana! what are you doing in the rain?" His eyes widened when he stepped out of the car, Diana blinked her eyes countless time to make sure her eyes wasn't playing games with her.
Soft sobs escaped from her thin pink lips, Edward stared at her with creased eyebrows. He wondered what was going on.
" Ed... Edward."
Diana stammered in disbelief, she sauntered towards him and wrapped her hands around his body tightly. Soft sobs escaped from her lips, she didn't want to let him go.
Diana was afraid Edward would disappear into thin air, Edward's body was stiff at first, he heaved a long sigh and hugged her back. He wondered why she was crying this much after seeing him.
" What's wrong with you Diana? what happened? who did this to you?" Edward held her pale face between his palms, brushing away hair strands that were stuck on her face.
Diana sobbed harder when she heard his words, she raised her hands slowly, holding Edwards's arms which was resting on her cheeks.
The rain continued to rain heavenly while the lightning flashed almost every second. Diana parted her lips to say something but her emotions got the better of her, she bit her inner cheeks to suppress the sobs but it was impossible.Edward pulled her gently into his embrace.
" It's okay if you don't want to talk about it now, just take your time to calm down." Edward muttered, biting his lower lips tightly.
Diana closed her eyes, she held onto Edward's drenched shirt tightly as if her life depended on it. Tears flowed from Edward's eyes effortlessly, he wanted to cry out his heart too.
Heavy rain washed away their tears, Edward and Diana cried into each other's embrace, they were both going through the same thing in life. They gave each other a shoulder to cry on.
" You'll catch cold Diana, you need to get changed." Edward grabbed her wrist gently leading her towards the parked car on the side of the road.
Edward pulled his sweat pants and a huge sleeveless shirt from the backseat and handed them to Diana.
" I'll look the other side so that you can change, okay." Edward glared at the other side of the window, to give her privacy so that she could change into something warm.
" I'm done, you can now look this way," Diana informed him politely, her voice was still unstable.
" I'll change too, can you look the other side please?" Edward pulled a black faded, jeans and a white Apolo shirt from the backseat and slid inside.
" I'm done, thanks to the heavens. l always carry extra clothes for an emergency, sometimes l spent the nights in a hotel." He explained to her briefly, heaving a sigh.
" Oh, l see." Diana nodded her head coyly, she was afraid to glare him directly in his eyes, the images of a few minutes ago kept on flashing in her mind.
" You need to dry your hair too." Edward grabbed the towel from the back seat and helped her to dry it, Diana peeked at him from the corners of her eyes.
She shivered slightly when his warm hand caressed the sensitive skin of her neck. She heaved a sigh, to calm her pounding heart. Edward returned the towel to the backseat when Diana finished drying her hair.
" Shall we?" Edward questioned Diana, glancing her from rear view mirror. She nodded her head and the car pulled off instantly.

Leon's luxurious car stopped outside the wooden gate, Sam raised her face slowly. Her lips curved into half a smile, she was happy to be back home again.
She didn't care if she won't stay there for long, all that mattered was.....she was able to return home again. Alex's car stopped miles away from the get, he wanted to make sure Sam would be fine.
Samantha's heart raced rapidly when she stepped her left foot on the muddy ground, she darted her eyes around, everything was the same.
There wasn't a big change apart from the grass which grew taller in the nearby forest, Sam had asked Leon to take her home, she wanted to say goodbye to her little pappy called Joseph.
" I'll be back, just give me few minutes." Sam glanced Leon through a small space left at the upper side of the car's window.
" Okay, take your time." Leon nodded his head in understanding, he didn't want to rush her. Leon knows how it's hard to say goodbye, especially if you love someone so much.
Sam's lips curved into a smile" thank you" she raised her hand, wiping tears from her eyes using the back of her hands, she just can't stop tears from flowing no matter how hard she tried.
" Let's go inside dear, your pappy Joseph missed you so much. lt has been dull since you left, we tried feeding it but....it refused to eat."
Mrs Sarah tried to cheer up her daughter, Sam nodded her head gently. She didn't utter any word.
" Your pappy was so sad Sam, l tried playing with it but it refused to play with me." Skylar pouted his mouth, Sam glared down at his brother. She patted her wet hair roughly.
" Thank you sky.
She mumbled, Mr. Jason was quiet all along, he didn't know what to say to her daughter. He thought he didn't deserve to talk to her, he's the reason why she's going through these hardships.
Joseph ran to Sam excitedly, she bent over slightly, picking her pappy from the ground. She smiled broadly, stroking its back soothingly.
" l missed you so much Joseph, how have you been? l heard you misbehaved when l was away, is that so? did you miss me too?" Sam pulled her pappy into her embrace, it swayed its tail joyfully.
Mr Jason twisted the doorknob and the door swung open, Sam took a few deep breaths before stepping inside their wooden house. Her eyes darted around, everything was the way she left one week ago.
Her eyes landed on her white knitted sweater, she recalled her mother knitting it for her. It was her birthday present, she loves that sweater so much.
She sauntered on the armchair and picked it up, she slid into her heavy knitted sweater since it was cold outside because of the rain.
She approached the wooden stairs and ascended carefully. She stood outside the door that leads to her room, she exhaled heavily before twisting the metallic doorknob.
