Edward never imagined he would be rejected by confessing his true feelings to Sam, he used to think Sam feels the same way towards him. So it was one sided love? he shook his head in disbelief when reality hit him.
" Wake up snow white." Edward pushed his head slightly using his finger, " You were just being paranoid, she wasn't in love with you."
Edward tried to convince himself but....his heart was stubborn to listen to his mind. Although he knew the damn truth, his heart craved for Samantha. That's the fault of loving someone so much.
it's difficult for him to stay strong, how could he when the source of his life is hurting? his heart is aching each time he recalls what happened in the basement.
He wants to move on and forget everything about Sam but.....he can't find himself doing so. Edward closed his eyes tightly, he ran his fingers through his jet-black hair, holding onto it tightly as if his life depended on it.
" You need to focus Edward, it's okay. You'll heal someday." He encouraged himself to step out of his car, he sauntered to the other side of the car and clicked the door open.
Edwards unhooked seatbelts around Diana's body, he brushed her black silky hair strands from her face and tucked it behind her ear carefully.
Edward took a few minutes to study her beautiful face, his eyes landed on her thick eyelashes, although her eyes were closed, he could tell they were beautiful.
His eyes trailed to her perfectly moulded nose, then to her thin pink lips. They were dry, almost cracking. Edward raised his right arm, brushing her lips slightly using his thumb.
He picked her up from the car seat and carried her into his warm hands since it was turning dark outside, the breeze was strong too. Edward didn't want her to catch a cold, not to mention she had stayed in the rain for hours.
He carried her bridal style and sauntered towards her apartment, Edward took a few deep breaths outside the massive door that leads to her house.
Edward tried to open the door, unfortunately, it was secured using a password.
" What will l do now?"
He exhaled deeply, glancing at the massive door. He was trying to figure out what might be the password, he lowered his head to glare Diana in his arms.
She was sleeping more peacefully, he thought it was a crime if he woke her up.
" Let me try your birthday."
Edward mumbled hoping for the best, he entered her birthday date.
" Wrong password." Edward's heart sank when he saw the results, he had no idea what to do. He tried to reason out.
" Who are the people close to you? your mother and father are always busy with the family business, Uhm.....Sam! let me try her birthday date."
Edward's heart skipped in joy when the idea flashed in his head, he knows they're the only people who are close to the poor girl. Her parents are always in and out of the country, taking care of business.
" Wrong password, two attempts remaining." His shoulders dropped when he saw the results.
" What the hell is your password Diana?" He cursed in a low tone, he didn't want to wake her up.
" Uhm.... please don't leave me, Edward, stay with me." Edward creased his eyebrows in confusion, his eyes shifted from the electronic massive door to her angelic face. Her eyes were still shut, meaning she was dreaming.
Diana wrapped her hands around his neck tightly, although she was asleep. She couldn't stop dreaming about Edward.
" You're so funny Sam, you're dreaming about me?" His lips curved into a mischievous smile, he took the matter lightly because it's normal for someone to dream about anyone and anything.
" Wait! can it be my birthday date?"
Edward tilted his head thoughtfully, " You're just being paranoid Edward." He dismissed the idea in his head, he doesn't think if the password might be his name.
" There's no harm in trying if it doesn't work out. I'll be forced to wake you up Diana, we only have two attempts remaining."
Edward typed his birthday date, he closed his eyes slightly hoping for the best.
" Correct password." The door clicked open, Edwards's heart pounded wildly. He thought the password will be rejected once again.
" So your doors password is my birthday date? but why?" He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, he stepped inside the luxurious house and sauntered towards Diana's room.
He laid her on the comfortable queen-sized bed. He removed the shoes from her legs and covered her body with heavy blankets.
Edward sauntered towards the white leather couch, he picked up her medicine kit. He opened it and pulled out two tablets of cold medicine.
He pulled the table close to the bed and placed the medicine on top of it, he poured a glass of water and covered it. He picked a paper and a pen and typed something.
" Remember to take cold medicine when you wake up Diana, l'll come to check on you tomorrow. It's just that...l need to take care of something." he placed the pen on top of the note, Edward exhaled deeply before approaching the door.
He was about to twist the doorknob but halted halfway, he turned his head slowly to glance at Diana one last time. Her face was peaceful.
" Please don't leave me, Edward." Those words echoed in Edwards's head over and over again, he wished he could go back and sit beside the bed to watch over her until the time she wakes up.
" I'm sorry Diana but....l need to go."
Edward heaved a sigh, his lips curved into a half smile. He twisted the metallic doorknob and walked out of the room, he rested his back on the door.
He raked his already messy hair and approached the door, he entered his birthday date and the door clicked open. Edward sauntered towards his car, he had no time to waste because it was already bizarre dark outside although an electricity bulb illuminated the place.
He got inside his luxurious car and wrapped the seatbelt around himself, he clutched the steering wheel and the car pulled off instantly.

Meanwhile, Leon's car pulled up outside the massive electronic iron gate. The guards opened the gate instantly when they realised their master had arrived.
" Welcome back master."
The guards bowed their heads slightly, Alexander's eyes were still shut. He didn't bother to slid his eyes open to glare at them.
Samantha stepped out of the car instantly when Leon parked it, she didn't wait for anyone to open the door for her. She sauntered towards the mansion without glaring back, she wanted to be alone at the moment.
She twisted the metallic doorknob on the wooden mahogany door and it slid open, she exhaled heavily after entering the door.
" Welcome back ma'am. "
Mr David smiled friendly at her, he's a good old man. Sam raised her head slowly and their eyes locked, her lips curved into a stiff smile.
" Thank you, Mr David."
She muttered with a weak voice, she turned lazily and ascended the grand staircase. She held on to the staircase railing, she felt weak in her knees.
She sighed in relief standing outside the door that leads to Alexander's room, she opened the mahogany door and sauntered inside the semi- dark room.
She closed the door behind her, Sam rested her back on the cold door. She glared outside the window blankly, her vision became foggy.
She slid on the door slowly till she reached the tiled cold floor, she sat helplessly on the floor, curling her legs upwards.
Sam hugged her knees tightly, tears continued flowing from her eyes. She didn't make an effort of sobbing, her lungs and throat were sore from all the crying.
Tears streamed endlessly, she recalled hugging her family goodbye. That was the saddest day of her life, she never thought She'll ever leave her family.
The reality hit her hard, the image of her breaking ties with Edward flashed in her mind. Her stomach swirled painfully, it took them the whole eight years to build up that friendship.
She felt guilty for hurting Edward in such a bad way, they had promised to stick together for the rest of their lives.
Sam recalled all the happy moments they spent together with Diana and Edward. They were good friends, they had pure intentions but what did she do?. She forgot about everything and broke the ties.
She hugged her knees more tightly, she bit her gown's soft fabric. She didn't want to feel that way anymore.
Sam recalled her mother's face when she was leaving, she wished she could turn back time so that they could spend more time together.
Sam let go of her knees, she rested her elbows on the knees, running her slender fingers through her thick black hair. She held on to her long hair tightly.
Leon pressed the bell button outside Alex's door, he wanted to check on Sam because he knews it was not easy for her. He wanted to reassure her that everything would be fine.
