Leon's eyes widened when they landed on her, she was more beautiful than before. Sam raised her face to glare at Leon and their eyes locked, they smiled at each other friendly.
" You look gorgeous, Sam. I bet you'll be the most beautiful woman at the graduation ball." Leon's lips curved into a genuine smile.
" You're just flirting me, thank you for your compliments though." Sam smiled back at him.
The wooden mahogany door swung open and Alexander sauntered inside the mansion, he was about to talk to Leon about something important when his sky blue eyes gazed at the beautiful goddess before him.
Alexander flickered his thick eyelashes softly, his eyes scanned Sam from head to toe. He didn't miss any part of her body, his canines elongated and itched. He rubbed his thick tongue on elongated canines soothingly.
Alexander's eyes glared her brown hazel eyes, they traveled further to her thin lips which was painted pink, the makeup enhanced her beauty, she looked like God's in fairy tale.
Alexander's shameless eyes moved further to her sexy slender neck, then her cleavage, he swallowed hard. He heaved a slow sigh, composing himself.
" Uhm....you don't look that bad." Alexander cleared his throat before complimenting, Leon glared at him with raised eyebrows.
" ls that how a gentleman compliments a lady? " Leon wondered, he shook his head in disbelief.
" will Alexander ever learn how to talk nicely to a lady? he needs to work hard on it." Leon thought.
Sam's lips curved into a stiff smile upon hearing his compliment, she doesn't take everything he says to heart, she has learnt how to understand Alex.
"Shall we?" Leon extended his arm for her to hold on to it, they smiled sweetly at each other, Alexander gritted his teeth, he felt like skinning Leon alive.
" Sure. " She grabbed it gently, heaving a slow sigh.
"Remember to watch your steps, Samantha." Alex reminded her, Sam turned around swiftly but carefully. Her lips curved into a reassuring smile.
" Of course I'll, you won't be there to save me anyways."
She teased him and turned around, they walked out of the mansion. Alex's eyes didn't leave the beautiful girl, he kept on glancing at her till she entered the car.
Alex's heart hammered inside his chest wildly, his body reacted weirdly. It seemed like his body didn't belong to him anymore, he has been around countless women but...his body has never reacted in that way.
He sighed in frustration, running his fingers through his already messy jet-black hair. He ascended the grand staircase and walked inside the guest room to take a quick bath.
He needs to watch Sam from afar, her safety is not assured when she's with Leon, his rivals can hurt her. He didn't want to destroy her day, he wanted her to enjoy it to the fullest. That's why he didn't want to drive with them.
Leon walked to the other side of the car and entered, he wrapped seatbelt around his body and gripped the steering wheel, Leon glared Sam to make sure she was ready, Sam nodded her head gently at him and the car pulled off.
Sam glared outside the window as always, her heart pounded wildly inside her chest as if it would explode in the next second.
" Are you nervous Sam?" Leon questioned her when he noticed her hands shaking slightly, Sam glared at him briefly before nodding her head.
" Yes, l can't help it. l'm trying to imagine how my friends would react when they learn that.....I'm working for Mafia now. We had dreams, goals and so much more."
She exhaled deeply, rubbing her sweaty hands on the gown. The corner of her lips curved into a bitter smile.
" You've no choice but to let them know, l know where you're coming from Sam. You need to warn them against getting involved with the Mafia." Leon's grip on the steering wheel tightened.
" I don't want to scare you Sam but..... seeing another day is like a miracle to any mafia member. We're always ready to die anytime, we've countless rivals."
Leon chuckled lightly, he isn't afraid of anything because he's used to this kind of life.
" l know, that's why my father never wanted us to get involved with the mafia in any way. He didn't want us to mention that name, it was forbidden in our house."
Sam nodded her head in understanding, she was so stubborn back then because she used to go against her father's rules. Sam learned about the mafia secretly, she didn't want her parents to know about it.
She followed her father one evening to see how the mafia works, that's how she knew about the abandoned warehouse.
The car pulled up in the basement of the university's massive building, Sam's stomach swirled. She took a few deep breaths before stepping out of the car when Leon opened the door for her.
Sam's parents and Skylar walked to her instantly, Mr. Jason wasn't on the wheelchair anymore. He was using crutches for support.
" You're out of the wheelchair father? are you sure your leg is not hurting that much?" Sam was emotional, she wrapped her hands around his father tightly.
" I'm perfectly fine princess, there's no need for you to worry about me." Mr Jason patted her daughter's back soothingly, he missed Sam more than so much.
"You're becoming emotional Sam, you'll destroy your make-up, dear." Mrs Sarah pulled Sam into her warm embrace, they sobbed in each other's embrace.
Skylar hugged her sister's slim waist, Salvador's family reunited once again. Sam couldn't believe she was able to see them again after what happened in that scary warehouse.
She sobbed, even more, when those memories flashed inside her mind, it was like the incident happened yesterday although it has been one week already.
Leon glanced at Sam crying helplessly, he never knew she was hurting this much. She pretends to be strong Infront of everyone.
" So she has been caging this emotion for a week?" Leon mumbled, his heart twisted inside his chest, he felt her pain.
She's going to leave everything behind, her dreams of becoming a doctor and the opportunity of living a quiet and peaceful life, Leon felt compassion for her when those thoughts flashed in his head.
" You have grown fast Skylar, you're a big boy now huh?" Sam patted her head as always, he leaned slightly, planting light kisses on his face.
" You can stop doing that because I'm a big boy, Sam. I'm not a three-year-old kid anymore," Skylar grumbled, showcasing his small muscles.
" You'll forever be my little Skylar, l don't care if you're growing big or not, silly boy." Sam smiled sweetly, planting kisses on his hair. She loves his brother more than so much, he's the reason why she decided to join Mafia. She couldn't stand the pain of losing him forever.
" We need to get going dear, the ceremony begun a few minutes ago." Mrs Sarah patted her daughter's back slightly.
" Sure." Sam fixed her hair and retouched the make-up.
Her legs became heavier with each step she took towards the massive lounge building, where the graduation ball was being held. She darted her eyes around, looking for her friends.
She stopped when they were a few steps from the building, she closed her eyes slightly taking a few deep breaths. She felt like turning around and running away.
" You can do this Samantha, just hold on to my hand okay." Mrs Sarah gave her hand a slight squeeze, a reassuring smile plastered on her lips.
Sam glared at her mother briefly, she smiled and sauntered towards the lounge room. Her stiletto heels made faint clicking sounds when they came in contact with the tiled floor.
All eyes were shifted to them, Sam bit her lower lips tightly. A thousand pairs of eyes glared them, she wished the ground under her feet could open and swallow her alive.
She scanned the crowd in a second when her eyes landed on Diana and Edward, they smiled broadly at her and she reciprocated their smile.
There was an empty seat beside them, she immediately knew it was preserved for her but...it was miles away from her. She exhaled deeply before she sauntered to nearby empty seats. She sat carefully with her family beside her.
Edward kept on glancing at Sam from time to time, he wants to make sure she was doing fine. He feels like there's something serious going on in her life.
They smiled at each other every time their eyes locked, Edward couldn't stop his lips from curving. It just happened naturally, his mind was carried away the moment Sam walked inside the lounge room, she looked like the goddess in a fairytale.
Sam's mind wasn't in the lounge room, she was thinking about something else. How her life turned into a living hell.
Her mind was jolted back to reality when she noticed the crowd standing up, her eyes darted around in confusion.
" Is the ceremony over? " She questioned her mother, " Yes, it's over dear." She answered her calmly, pulling her into a side embrace.
Sam closed her eyes slightly, rubbing her eyes in disbelief. She couldn't believe she has been spacing out for almost half an hour. The crowd narrated the national anthem and pledge before dismissing.
Sam sat back on the wooden chair, her eyes dropped closed effortlessly. She thought her mind was set to celebrate this special day but...she just can't stop thinking about what is awaiting her.
" Where the hell have you been Sam? l came to visit you at home but you were nowhere to be seen! " Edward pulled her from the seat gently, wrapping his hands around her lean body tightly.
Sam hugged him back tightly, that's all she needed. Someone to give her a tight hug.
