We had arrived at the mountains and I just looked up to the top, it was very cold and the wind was brutal. So I put Vera in my inside coat pocket, she refused for a second till a good cold breeze hit her in the face. "Better stay warm little one, your mother would kill me if I got you hurt on this trip." I said to Vera and she felt how warm I was, she dug herself in my coat and kept warm as we got into a snow machine. We headed right up the secret castle-like building at the flat part of the mountain, it was hidden by magic and a snowstorm.
We got out of the car and looked around the area, it looked more of a political building than a castle the more he looked all over. We went inside the building and it was much warmer inside and it got hotter as time stood for a moment. "They like to keep it warm for some of the leaders who are from the hotter climates." Said a voice coming from the shadows, she was an elf and looked darker than the one I faced before. "Hello miss I'm here to answer this summons," I said handing her the letter, "Ah yes. right, this way." She said we followed her to a private meeting hall near the back of the building.
There was no one in there yet so I walked over to the window till I heard a bunch of people coming. Right, when I turned around I saw there were about fifteen people looking at me, they had snuck in and sat down. They had Bradley and Andreea leave the room while they started talking to me. I still had Vera in my coat pocket and she wasn't going to move yet. I looked around and saw there were two leaders that I knew. Vlad and Queen Alask of the Elves smiled at me then till I was asked, "Why did you write about your non-human encounters."
I sat in the chair for me which was at the front of the table, there on the table was my recent and last book. I looked at it and a smile crept across my face, "I wanted to write about my true adventures, my friend made it possible so only non-humans could receive or read this book." I said trying not to look like a fool in front of the most powerful people in the world. They looked at each other than tried to tell me that I was lying. "You don't know anyone that strong to cast a spell like that." The Mere woman said out loud making Vera move a bit in my coat.
I tried to stop the little crazy girl but she moved faster than I could move, she popped out and went right for the Mere woman. I stopped her and saw everyone had their weapons drawn on me and Vera. "Sorry, she gets a bit hard to handle when you insulate her mother." I said bowing my head putting Vera on my shoulder, "Ah I heard from my daughter the Pixie queen and her people lived with you. Is this her daughter then, she's quite a fiery one." Vlad said breaking the awkwardness down a bit.
"Yes this is Vera and her mother is the one who cast the spell for my books, I know I may have asked permission to write it. But if you read my book I never said where I was with any of my adventures. I was worried about if a human could break the spell, SoI kept names and place out instead I put fake names and places in." Everyone around me were talk about me for a couple of minutes.
Some of the leaders talk about killing me and others talked about arresting me for making a book as I did. I was getting mad they were going to even say the stuff of what I was hearing, my face was red hot with how angry I was. "Can I say something about Jacob here?" Said Andreea coming into the room with the three vampires from when I went to the vampire world. Everyone gave her permission to talk, she went to the edge of the table opposite to me.
"Jacob here is a human right, have they not been afraid of us for a very long time?" She said and everyone shook their heads yes. "He's not like the rest, he's been traveling around the world learning about us and why. Have any of you found out why he does this or do you just assume he's going to destroy the non-humans" Everyone looked over at me and she read from the book, "I hate human history and the chaos the brought to the world. I travel for a couple of reasons, one's to find my place and another is to find people who understand me as a person, not just another human. So you see he is looking for answers that only non-humans will give him."
Andreea stopped and looked at me, my reasons a many and people may never understand why I like non-humans over humans. " I write to remember what I might forget, I never want to forget anyone I've been able to talk to. I have been shunned by my own kind so many times and the non-humans have always given me the respect that I've shown them." I bowed my head and I said nothing else after that. Vlad and Queen Alask spoke up after I stopped talking and told everyone about their encounter with me.
They said many kind things about me but the one negative thing they said about me was. "He tends to get very angry when you threaten the people he likes and cares for. I would recommend not doing anything hurtful to his younger brother." Vlad and Alask said with everyone wondering if I was that much stronger than most? It was about four hours into the meeting when I was let to take a break with the rest of the council.
I went to the lounge near the hall and rested for a bit, The lounge had most if not all my books on the shelves right behind the couch and chairs. I looked them over and saw there was a book that I wrote when I finally came to Africa years before I went to England. It was when I met a race of giants living in the jungles of the congo. They were very mean people who hated Humans even being in their forests and fields. Though the King of the giants liked me the Queen hated the idea of me even talking to her husband. said that I was corrupting her husband with human emotions, This wasn't true I just showed them the real me.
I was deep in the book reading it page after page till a servant came to get me, "Jacob sir, The head of the council wants to test you in the arena." She said to me and everyone in the lounge was curious why I was being tested. I smiled a bit and followed the woman to the arena, It was in the courtyard near the horses and livestock.
The air was cold and many stayed inside for my test, all except for the ones who were used to the cold. There the leader of all the non-humans stood, He was a giant and had white hair all over his body. He spoke to me about what the test was, "Alright young man If you can make me move from this spot I will either offer you a job or let you do what you want. Anyway, you can see to defeat me do it, even if you hit me I will not return a hit." He said to me and I smiled big when I heard that was the challenge. "But if you can't move me, we will erase your mind off all you seen here today, and one other thing, you have to take these guys out before getting to me."
A bell rang and I jumped into the test at full speed, right in front of were twenty or so guards of the council. I started to get heated so I took off my coat to cool off and so I could move better. I heard Bradley from the building say right before I unleashed my attack. "Those assholes are in trouble now He moves better when he's cold," I smirked and I went throw the line of people like they were practice dummies. I hit one so hard he was thrown almost off the mountain from one of my kicks. I looked back to make sure the guy was good and then I ran right in between the crowd. I stopped for a second to adjust my footing then I used all my strength to push the giant an inch from where he was standing.
Everyone thought I was holding back then I felt the guy's hand on my foot that I kicked him with. He blocked my kick barely and he had sweat running down his brow, "I thought you weren't going to react to my attacks?" He looked up from his hand and I saw I left a mark on his chest, "If I didn't you might have killed me." He said as he let my ankle loose and I put my coat back on, everyone behind us was in awe with how the King of the monsters took a defeat. "No one had ever beat the King like that, Jacob must be a monster to be able to do that," Andreea said to Bradley, Bradley laughed a said to himself. "I think Jacob was holding back after he almost knocked that one guy off the mountain or even from the start?"
I walked into the building with the giant and we talked about the fight and what he wanted from me. " We need people like you, I heard there is a non-human as you call us, she's out killing everything she comes in front of. She has been targeted by the humans in Australia by the government, can you go in and handle it for us? Otherwise, this might hurt our community of Non-humans and may start a new war with the humans." He told me and I never thought I'd be a monster hunter, I am just a writer and artist, could I take someone on like that. I looked back and saw everyone I had beat up and I lifted my fist and felt they were hot. "I'll do it, but I'm not going to kill her, I will bring her in alive for you to deal with."
The giant patted my back, "Yes that's a deal, oh one more thing." He said to me and I looked annoyed. "Will you become the English teacher for a non-human academy? They really need one in the northern Academy, since you seem to be fine with the cold you look perfect for the role." He told me and I smiled a bit then told him that I would think about it. I went back to tell Bradley about it and I heard one of the guards talking about me. "You really think that human is that good at fighting or do you think the King let him off easy?" I was leaning on the wall next to them and I started to smirk. I knew I was strong but till now I just thought it was just normal for me, I never thought about it much. Some could see me as a Superhero or a villain with Super abilities.
