I looked at the photo of my younger sister and I when we were much younger. A really pretty girl. She had blue eyes and fair skin and was admired by everyone. Our dad had left when she was just a baby because mom had given birth to a female child whom we had named Emma. Dad had left mom all alone with two children which had broken her completely. She had begun drinking and partying all day to forget about all her worries which left me to Emma's care. Once when Emma was in fifth grade, a girl named Natasha had bullied Emma and had lied to the principal that Emma was the bully. The principal knew Natasha was guilty but he knew her parents were big donors and he couldn't afford to make their daughter cry so he gave Emma detention for two weeks for bullying but let Natasha off the hook.
I was raging mad at the principal. I went to the police station and lodged a complaint that my sister was being bullied for no apparent reason. The police laughed at me calling me a joker. Just because I was only twelve years didn't mean that I didn't have the right to complain. I was kicked out and was about leaving when a gentleman came and lambasted the police men. I think he was the inspector and had stepped out for a minute before I came in. The kind gentleman had agreed to help me and conducted further investigations. At the end of it all, the principal was arrested and the school shut down. Turns out, the principal had mistreated some others too all because of money. After everything, I thanked the inspector and Emma thanked me for standing up for her. I smiled and patted her head. Meanwhile, mom didn't seem to care. How could she be so heartless?
This was until my best friend- Stanley had been murdered and Emma had been accused. I thought it to be trash at first but when my other friend- Kingsley had presented solid evidence, I couldn't believe her. At age sixteen, she was a murderer?
She had begged me to listen but I had thrown her out and she had been arrested. How foolish! I know. I had realised my mistake a few days ago when I got a call from the police that Emma had been framed by Kingsley who was the actual murderer. But, Kinsley had run away. After four years, the police had called to say the name of the real murderer.
I cursed them silently but it was all my fault. How could I have listened to Kingsley who had presented fake evidence? I had chosen him over my blood sister who had been tortured for two years before finally being released as stated by the law.
I began hitting myself yelling. "Jeff, Jeff!", shouted Tricia, my fiancee. "What's wrong?", she asked worriedly. I gulped and swallowed hard. "I will tell you everything", I muttered.
