I wanted to say yes to Emma's question if not for annoying Mrs Daisy. "No. He meant to say Marina's my sister's role model. Right Mr Jeff?" I wanted to punch that woman's face. Rather, I knew it was for Emma's good so that she wouldn't stress her head trying to remember anything. Emma looked at me expectantly and asked "Is she telling the truth Jeff?"
I sighed and said "Yes, that is the truth. My sister adores you." The old couple shot me a triumphant look. I was so angry with them for everything. Emma blushed and said "Great! I would love to meet her. I'm sure she must be very lucky to have a brother like you, any girl will always wish to have a brother like you." I smiled but to my annoyance, Mrs Daisy coughed. I knew that cough was fake. That was it! Enough!
I got some water from the table and went over to Mrs Daisy. "Here some water.", then I spilled it on her face deliberately. "I'm so sorry", I pretended "I tripped. Ouch my leg hurts. Mrs Daisy please forgive me, I only wanted to give you water", and when no one was looking, I flashed an evil smile to her. She looked angry. She immediately got up and said "He did it on purpose. Liar. I won't spare you" and she made to hit me when Marina stepped in and held her hand.
She screamed at Mrs Daisy "Mom, I can't believe you. You were the one who taught me to always care for others. Now, my friend accidentally tripped and you say it was on purpose. Can't you see the way he's wincing in pain? How dare you treat my friend like this and humiliate him? You even wanted to hit him. I can't believe this." A tear trickled down Mrs Daisy's face and Emma left the room.
Mrs Daisy looked at me with hate in her eyes then ran up the stairs crying. Mr Daisy simply shook his head and said "For how long will you continue to break relationships with others? You've made a mother and daughter fight." I chuckled and replied "Technically, they aren't mother and daughter. Complete strangers to each other is who they are", and with that I went to Emma's room.
She began apologising to me when she saw me. "I am so sorry my mom humiliated you like that. Is your leg okay?", she asked. "I'm fine", I said wincing. "Let's go out for breakfast. I wouldn't want to eat here" she said. "Fine with me", I assured her. Little did we know Mrs Daisy was standing at the door eavesdropping. This even made Emma angrier.
"Why are you spying on us? What I do with my life is none of your business. You've always confined me to this house as if you were trying to hide me from someone. I only leave the house when I'm on business or you're not around. Not anymore.", she ranted. Mrs Daisy began crying out "I was trying to protect you." "Protect more like ruin", she said and we left.
I felt really guilty now. What had I done? How would I feel if someone separated me from the person I loved the most? I would feel bad. We went to a cafe and had breakfast there. The next days were fun, hanging out with Emma, going to parks and she was really fun to be with. One day, I decided to make a surprise visit to Emma at her studio. On getting there, my jaw dropped.
Apparently, Emma didn't play a part well countlessly probably due to nervousness. I saw the director of the drama raise his hands to my sister. "Powww", the slap echoed. I couldn't take it anymore. Emma fell to the ground crying. I wouldn't spare him....
