Pov. Ingrid
It seems Nomad's will be finished if I don't do something, after talking with that man I came back to Nomad's main base. As I try to come up with something I hear a knock on my door, opening it I see Oboro standing outside.
"Ingrid I would like to talk" she says as she barges into my room.
"Sure come in not like I'm busy or anything" I say to her as I close the door.
"So what is it you want to talk about with me after all we aren't on the most friendly of terms last time I checked."
"It's about Nomad and what Qin Shi is going to do to it."
"Good you think about the same thing, do you have any idea how to stop him" as soon as I said that I started to feel an intense pain through my body making me fall to the floor.
"Now why would I do that, after all he has entrusted me with looking over you. But it was so easy to get you to admit your thoughts of betraying him" she said as the pain I felt faded.
"Ha ha so you're betraying Edwin and all he's done for you."
"I'm the one that's done everything for him and he repays it by trying to get rid of me after he gets what he wanted out of me" she says with a calm demeanor that is unusual for her.
"And you believe what he said to you like a fool."
"No I'm no fool , at least not anymore so I decided to do my own investigation. And what I found is that it was true he was going to get read of me after I served my purpose. As for my new master he's been upfront to me since the beginning but that doesn't mean I fully trust him."
"So what will you do? Are you going to work for that Demon hating man! He's probably going to get rid of you after you served your purpose as well! After all no one loves you, yo-" I couldn't finish what I was saying before the pain was back.
"You don't learn do you, I hold your life in my hands now. You have no idea how long I wanted this, to look down on you like you looked at me. If it was the old me I would have killed you even if master said not to. But luckily for you I've changed but from the looks of things you haven't. After all, it's clear that unlike Edwin he actually cares about what happens to demons that follow him."
"He does care about us! And he will make a better world for us."
"No he doesn't and you know this, he doesn't care about humans or demons. He only cares about taking control of this world and getting that woman Asagi. After all he has ruined many lives of those he says he will protect. Even his supposed daughters have been through hell, he treats them like tools. The older one was lucky to be rescued while she was young. But the other one well you've seen what he turned her into, a psychotic killing machine. Do you really believe someone that can do that to his own daughter will care about anyone, do you really think he would treat anyone differently."
I could say anything back after all I've been forced to face the truth of how Edwin has been treating his people. The truth that I've been refusing to face them, hiding behind the idea of it's all for the good of my peoples future.
"Think about it carefully if you really want to stay by Edwin's side because he says he'll make things better for demons. Or will you follow the person that shows he will treat demons better instead of just saying he will when he gets what he wants."
"How are you sure he cares about demons after all we are slave's to him. For all you know he hates demons and is only putting up an act."
"Because unlike Edwin's subordinates he's aren't loyal to him due to fear. You can see that from his subordinates that we met, after all they were demons that were all deeply loyal to him. I don't know why that is but you saw their eyes, they are will to give their lives for him. You can't get that type of loyalty through acting alone."
"So what now, should I just betray Edwin and join him? After all the horrible things I've done in the hopes to make the world a better place for demons. They lives I've ruined just because Edwin ordered me to."
"I don't know, that's something you have to come up with your own choice. But just remember to choose wisely because whatever you choose can cause lots of pain to demons or help them" she says before leaving my room.
'I don't know what to believe in anymore, should I continue believing in Edwin or follow Qin instead. I just don't know anymore.'
Pov. Qin Shi's
Today I'm going to meet a bunch of underworld bosses at a casino called Bunny Kings.
"So this is the second place you take me on a date, not what I would pick but it could be fun," said Shiranui.
"I wish we could be on a date right now unfortunately I have business here."
"Right, so what am I doing here?"
"You're acting as my escort/bodyguard after all I'm meeting some underworld bosses and I can't do that without a beautiful woman in my arms."
"So am I a trophy now or what?"
"An extremely deadly trophy in a beautiful dress that can protect little old me," I said while smiling.
"Like you need protection."
"True but they will mostly underestimate me due to the blindfold."
"Why do you even wear that anyways?"
"Because I have very pretty eyes."
"Funny" she said in a deadpanned voice.
"But in all seriousness if I show up by myself they will underestimate me but if I show up with a large number of people then they'll feel threatened. It's all a big pain in the ass so it's best if it's just both of us and after we can go on that date."
That got a smile out of her, walking through the casino I see demons, humans, and demihumans all play different games. Everyone is either having fun or trying to get rich but no one seems to care about the other race.
"It's amazing that none of these people are starting fights," says Shiranui.
"Is the hate they have for different races really that bad?" I asked.
"Yes humans and demons don't have the best relationship but you add the demons from hell and it just gets worse. It's to the point that they don't care if there are demons from Dark World or hell, they want them dead or gone from this world. Demihumans also don't have the best relationship with humans due to multiple reasons. Even though it's not really legal to treat them like that and there are citizens of the countries that have never been to Dark World or the beast realm but they are still treated badly."
"Not too surprising after humans hate each other, add a completely new race that looks nothing like us and they will be hated even more."
After all there were only humans back in my world and they still hated each other just because they were slightly different then them. Whether it was their skin color, realign, beliefs, hell even what type of ship's you like for fiction characters can cause some to tell you to die or they'll kill you.
"Invitation" asked the guard in front of the elevator.
Showing him the invitation he let us through to go up to the top floor where the meeting was being held. As the door to the elevator opened some servants were there to guide me to the meeting room.
"Please this way" they say as they gestured towards a door.
Going inside I see eleven people gathering around a table. Five of them were women and the other six were men. They were a mixture of humans, demons, and even a cyborg was at the head of the table.
When the cyborg saw me she stood up and said "it's a pleasure to finally meet you Nurarihyon, my name is Bunny K, the owner of this fine establishment and the one who called for this meeting."
"Good to meet you as you said I'm Nurarihyon and I'd like to know why exactly you wanted to meet me."
"Because you as well as everyone in this room want the same thing, the end of Nomad."
"Well then looks like we will get along just fine" I say as I sit down while smiling.
