With a black face, Angie retorted. "So what if I was only sixteen? I won't be confused for my ex-husband and me.." She was interrupted.
"Sis, have you ever thought that there must be a mistake?" Anna interjected, making Angie's face turn darker.
"Have you forgotten what you told me when I asked how it felt to have sex for the first time?" Anna asked with a blushing face.
"Didn't you say you can't remember? I asked how it is possible, but you said you didn't even know how you and your ex-husband ended up sleeping with each other?"
With a sharp gaze, Angie looked straight at Anna as she asked, "Did you intentionally ask me that question?"
"Sorry, I had no choice since I was suspicious why your daughter's DNA test results proved that my big brother was her biological father." Anna apologized with an explanation.
"So there must be a mistake on that stupid DNA results." Angie snorted.
"Although you didn't mention why you were convinced that your ex-husband was your child's father, didn't you ever suspect why they didn't resemble each other?" Anna didn't give up.
This time, Angie didn't retort as Anna expected, but she unexpectedly froze and became sluggish before falling into deep thoughts.
Anna didn't miss Angie's reaction, there was a flash of suspicion in her eyes before she hastily continued. "Aren't you confused and suspicious? Then how did you know that your ex-husband was her father?"
"Did you wake up in bed together with your ex-husband? Did he ever touch you? Were you both naked that time?"
"Or did you wake up alone in bed while he suddenly claimed to be responsible for what happened?" Anna amplified but Angie didn't respond.
Her expression remained indifferent but Anna could see through her eyes that she was also confused and suspicious.
If she wasn't mistaken, Angie probably didn't know she slept with a stranger. Anna guessed that something else must have occurred that time aside from sleeping with her big brother.
This caused Anna to feel more curious about what transpired to Angie at that period. She was completely doubtful about how her so-called boyfriend became her child's father.
Anna keeps on asking herself why would Angie persist that she was confident about her daughter and ex-husband being related while the DNA test shows her daughter's father was someone else.
What Anna didn't know was that someone who was eavesdropping had a face that was turning darker and colder when her words fell into his ears. There was a hidden emotion threatening to burst out from those pairs of sharp and cold eyes.
Fortunately, Anna's next words somehow pacified the threatening beast who was about to burst into fury.
"You also accidentally told me that after that night, he never slept with you again before you found out you were pregnant."
"Aside from that, even after giving birth to your daughter and after marriage, he didn't touch you. Didn't you ask him why?"
"You said he didn't say a word at all and still didn't have sex with you, not even a kiss until you found out that he had a mistress."
"Then, who wouldn't suspect your so-called boyfriend as to why he claimed to marry you once you turned eighteen."
"Doesn't that mean he only married you for the sake of saving your dignity? But have you ever asked yourself why he would do that?"
"After all the things I said, do you still believe that he was the person that had sex with you that time?" Anna finally implored.
"Whatever, my daughter is only my daughter. Either my ex-husband was her father or not, she is not your brother's child, and I don't need a man in our life." Angie firmly claimed while she continued puffing her cigarette.
Anna pouted with disappointment. She thought Angie would continue to feel suspicious about her ex-husband, but it looks like she didn't want to think about it.
"Why don't you like my big brother? Why don't you even have an interest in looking at his picture?"
"You have no idea how many women are dying and dreaming to marry my brother while you, who already have a daughter with him, keep rejecting the opportunity," Anna complained.
"I told you, that's them. Not me. I don't want to pick something that will kill me." Angie annoyingly added. "Your family is crazy to believe what you say about my daughter."
"But I promised that I didn't lie. And the DNA test doesn't lie.." Anna uttered with a complaining voice before she halted.
She thought for a second, creasing her brows before saying, "Are you truly not convinced that my brother is your daughter's biological father?"
"Honestly, you keep on denying the fact that he is your child's father. I guess you only hate my big brother after discovering that it was him who got you pregnant at the age of sixteen."
