Chapter 4 - 4. Interrogation

"Is it because you're an assassin?"

Nature's question made Emily a little surprised, he didn't expect to get a question like that before especially to a blind man it made him give up his intention to shoot an arrow and look at the blind man.

He gazed at Nature full of inquiry. "What did you say earlier?" he asked trying to make sure he heard wrong.

"You're a hitman," Aaron repeated.

"What do you mean assassin?" he asked casually, shooting arrows again.

"You killed the man,"

The woman raised one eyebrow, staring at Nature who was standing beside her.

"What man? Don't make it up," said Emily, pulling his bow again. He acted normal with Nature's question. "You'd better go inside," he called out for the man to come in.

"Is my question correct? You killed that man."

Being asked the same question annoyed him. "You better get out of here, it's useless forcing me to marry," Emily said firmly.

Emily heaved a shaky breath when Aaron didn't move from his place making him grab the man's arm. "Come on, I'll take you inside. Don't hang around here, it's not good," said Emily, stepping into the house.

Everyone in the room looked at those who had just arrived, especially when they saw Emily holding Aaron's hand. Finished escorting the man, he immediately left the room.

Emily chose to sit for a moment to appreciate their guest. "I'm sorry for rejecting the marriage that was discussed earlier, for me marriage is not for a business and the ones who suffer are those who are married," he said with a smile.

"I hope uncle and aunt can understand, and I have to go do something," he said again as he got up from his seat and left the room.

Emily was driving his motorbike so fast, tonight he had a task he had to complete.

Like a hitman, he kills those he has targeted to kill, he gets a high payoff.

The events of last night are still etched in his memory. When his father ordered them to gather to eat together.

Eleven people were circling the long dining table, the situation was so quiet, everyone seemed to be busy enjoying their meal. There was no laughter at the table, so gripping.

Several of Emily's adopted sisters admired her beauty, even though the clothes she was wearing were just a plain black dress satin that printed her beautiful curves, she let her hair down just like that.

The room was so cold, there was no warmth there was always a squabble of opinion, it made Jordan—their adoptive father, so dizzy when his ten children sat together at one table.

"Are you going to talk about your successor?" Daren asked making everyone who had been arguing silently.

"Is that dad?" asked another.

Jordan was silent. Almost all of his adopted children want the successor position. The man glanced at Emily, his daughter as if not bothered by the topic of the ongoing conversation.

"No, I haven't determined who is entitled to be my successor,"

Hearing Jordan's narrative made everyone silent. The American-blooded man understands his children, he can't possibly give the seat of power that he has built to the wrong person.

"So why did dad gather us, if I knew it was like this I'd better not come,"

"Tsk, so you guys came just to find out who is worthy to replace father? Haven't all of you been given territory?" Emily asked as he looked at some of his adopted siblings making them speechless.

"Kristal Group wants to do a business wedding with us—Zaiga Group," Jordan said making them all stop eating including Emily.

"Crystal Group? Why is that name familiar, huh?" Emily thought as he resumed his food.

He does not like to talk about business, he prefers to kill it is very suitable for him.

"One of the sons wants to have a business wedding," Jordan said seriously.

"And dad agrees?" asked Emily curiously.

"Yes, his son wants to marry you,"

Hearing what his father just said, made Emily suddenly hit the table making everyone look at him. It even took some people by surprise.

"I refuse," he answered quietly.

Only he did not like the decision his father made to marry him, in contrast to some of his brothers who wanted the marriage to happen. In their eyes, Emily is their obstacle to becoming the next Jordan's successor.

Emily's expression changed, his nonchalant attitude had now disappeared. He glanced at all his brothers were smiling.

"Why did father take decisions without my consent? I don't accept it," Emily refused in a rising voice.

The atmosphere in the room became even tenser when Emily had just turned down the marriage offer Jordan had just told him.

"Watch your words, Lily," Detta snapped, calling Emily Lily.

Hearing Detta's bluff made Emily look at Detta for a moment, the man was so furious when he saw Emily roll his eyes.

"You… how dare you to look at me like that?" Detta got emotional because Emily showed a disapproving face.

"Stop it …." Jordan intercepted, he didn't want his kids to make a fuss. "We'll talk about this later, we should eat," Jordan exclaimed.

But not with Emily, the girl chose to withdraw from the dining table. Jordan's decision suddenly shocked him, he didn't want to get married if he did it would make his identity as a murderer exposed.

"Why me," he cursed as he kicked the flower pot in the yard.

Several maids who were around there immediately went away to see Emily who was raging. In his life dictionary, there was never the slightest hint of marriage, he hated that word.

The word that ruined his childhood life.

"I should have discussed this with you," a voice startled Emily.

The woman just crossed her arms in front of her chest, she looked annoyed. It was too sudden for him.

"If you don't accept, we can negotiate with them to cancel this marriage,"

"They're coming tomorrow night, we'll talk to them tomorrow," Jordan shouted as he entered the house.

Several thugs block his way, battered by Emily. The girl found the right thing to express her emotions earlier, it's a shame they became Emily's victims.

While he was sitting at the bar, someone approached him.

"Are you Emilyna Aurora?" asked the man making Emily frown then glanced at the man who greeted him.

"Who are you?" Emily asked.

The man immediately took out his badge making Emily look at it carefully. His right hand was shaking a short glass of beer. When he looked clearly, on the badge was a name that read Davino Beren.

"Is this real? Many have things like this, but not a detective."

"I want you to come with me to the police station,"

"Why should I come?"
