Yao Wang honestly didn't know who was more of an adult. This little girl, or him. He still didn't know her name, he should probably ask. But on the other side of things, he didn't know exactly how to ask. Yao Wang never has really been around people wasn't his thing. Or, maybe it was and he just didn't know.
Yao Wang's past was.... Difficult. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't. That's it. It was non-existent. Everyone has a past, everyone has a childhood, no matter how it was. Everyone had that. But... Yao Wang really didn't have one. Another mystery of Yao Wang's life. He didn't have a past.
There was so much he wanted to question in his life. But to question meant to waste time, and Yao Wang didn't have much of that. His cleanliness, his bandages, and his history. Yao Wan didn't want to be curious about things like that. Curiosity didn't scare him, but the outcome did. Even if there were many different things that Yao Wang didn't know about he didn't dare question it.
"Yao Wang, what are those things on your wrists?"
But others always did.
Yao Wang pulled his sleeves down, a natural instinct when someone asks, before looking away from the young girl. "Shouldn't you be eating your strawberries. I bought them for you and your family." Yao Wang pointed out. The girl smiled and nodded. "I just wanted to know." She said happily before taking another bite of her strawberry.
Yao Wang was going back to his small shop, and the girl was mostly following him. "You don't have to come with me." Yao Wang said. He had given her three of his five boxes, leaving the rest for his customers. The girl frowned softly. "You don't want me to come?" She asked, her voice on the edge of crying. What has Yao Wang done?
He shook his head, turning around quickly and crouching to look at the girl. "No, no of course not. That wasn't what I meant. I just said that you didn't have to if you wanted to do something else. I didn't mean it like that." He quickly hugged the girl,to which she sniffled and hugged back. "Okay.." She whispered. Yao Wang nodded, slowly stepping away from the girl.
She rubbed her eyes, holding her strawberries and rattle drum close to her chest. Nice save, Yao Wang. The girl ran in front of him, as if she knew where the two were going. "You have a lot of money." The girl points out. Yao Wang didn't know what to say. He didn't have much money, but he always had enough. Barely, but still enough.
He usually gives food for the animals, Yao Wang was very much a nature person. It was kinda his thing. He was a giving person, he knew that about himself. He didn't eat much, which probably wasn't healthy, but he would eat. In the end, Yao Wang was pretty okay. He was pretty much okay with everything in his life. Nothing bad about it.
"I don't have a lot, I have enough." Yao Wang supplies, continuing to walk behind the girl. She nods her head, humming. "But, how do you get money?" Another mystery that Yao Wang doesn't know, he can heal people. In a way. There are medicines and teas and other things that could help. But it seemed Yao Wang could heal someone with only his hands.
It was something Yao Wang himself was proud of. But he wasn't that curious about it. Yao Wang smiled, crossing his arms. "I am a healer." Yao Wang answered. He wouldn't call himself a doctor or anything close. He didn't learn from books and he didn't heal people the normal way. He didn't do it for money, he did it because he liked to help people. However he would always gain some sort of tip. That's how he got money.
The girl looked up excitedly. "You're a healer? Really? How does that work?" She turned around, walking backwards to look at him. Yao Wang shrugged. It seemed the girl knew exactly where she was going, since when they got to his small house, she turned around to face it. "Um, I don't exactly know. Come on, let me make you some lavender tea."
Lavender, his favorite flower. He didn't know why. It was a weird reason. He liked lavender, mostly because of his rows of purple you would see at a farm. It was stunning, and Yao Wang never unappreciated the fields. It wasn't rare, since he went from city to city, but it was still perfect. Maybe he will show this little girl a field. But he'll have to find one first. He hasn't stayed in this village for so long, but still. When he finds one, he'll show the little girl.
"Ew, I don't like lavender tea." She shook her head wildly, fake gagging. Yao Wang widened his eyes. THe little girl didn't like lavender tea? It shocked him. Most people did. For different reasons, sure, but they still did. Yao Wang didn't know what to say. He wouldn't force ehr to eat such a thing if she didn't want to, why would he do such a thing. But he should say something.
"Do you like lavender tea?" The girl asked. Yao Wang glanced at her, before sliding the door to his small place open. Yao Wang nodded his head. "I do, however it is fine if you don't. Since, it doesn't matter to me. I'll make you regular tea with herbs." Yao Wang said simply, watching the girl scan the place. She didn't seem like a young girl like Yao Wang's first interpretation. Instead, she is something different.
Yao Wang couldn't point it out though.
Not yet.
Yao Wang shut the door behind her, before walking to a small sitting room. Over, before he could even leave the door's hall, a soft knock came from this side. People tend to wind up at his doorstep, hurt or sick in some way, and though Yao Wang would always cure them, the times are not always ideal.
Yao Wang would never turn someone away.
Yao Wang turned around, sliding open the door. Though he froze. Two men stood to look at him, both withs stern and almost frightening looks.. Was it the Qing Dynasty's guards? Were they here for Yao Wang/ Were they here for the young girl. However, a lady stepped in front of them, smiling kindly at Yao Wang. Yao Wang hesitantly smiled back.
"We're here to see Yue?"
Yue? Who was Yue?
