Chapter 36 - Reputation [3]

"Ah, no, it is a casual question, it is not the actual question."

Raymond smiled and nodded. "Will I have more points if I answer your question?"

Kian was speechless, as were Raymond's classmates. They blankly looked at Raymond with disbelief because of his blunt words. He just blurted it out, and it ended up being an absurd question.

Kian had a gap in his lips and he slightly gave an answer, which he was not sure was needed.

"You will have more points."

Raymond was overjoyed. "Yes!" Then he faced Kian. "Okay, teacher, you may now ask me another question."

"Does an awakened person have only one Talent?"

"No, because there is a second awakening and a third awakening. The second awakening mostly happens when the person has already mastered their Talent and has two pure Skills out of it. Meanwhile, the third awakening is so rare that no one could tell when they would awaken again."

"And what is the use of the sphere? Can they just use it again and awaken if they like? "

"The sphere is not the main reason why people awaken. It is only a mere switch to activate. A Talent awakens a person before a year or at the fifteenth year of a person's age. It could be predetermined, but they had already awakened even before the ceremony. Hence, it is safe to say that awakening doesn't surround the sphere. There are conditions."

Kian didn't surrender as he gave Gabriel another question. He continued on, asking him to see how far he could go.

Gabriel's classmates, on the other hand, were taken aback because they had not expected Raymond to be so knowledgeable. Raymond was thought to be asleep since he was so arrogant that he didn't think he needed to listen any longer because of his grade. However, it was the inverse because he didn't have to learn it again.

"How can you tell that a person has a good mastery of their Talent?"

"If they have reached the conditions of their Talent, unlocking a Skill. Now, Skills don't really have clear conditions on how to unlock them, but there is one that a study has already proven. To unlock the first pure Skill, the awakened person must have reached 10 MP. If they couldn't reach that stated MP, they would have to resort to expensive Skill books."

"Hm..." Kian went back to being silent again.

'He is really good. It is no wonder that General McWorthy supported him even before awakening. He must be a dead serious genius.'

Kian's thoughts were on complimenting Gabriel, but his expression outside spoke otherwise. He appeared to be offended or annoyed by Gabriel's responses. His brows were wrinkling in an unsettling way. It was his smile, but he couldn't get the right impression of it on his face, causing others to misinterpret him.

"The teacher is annoyed with Raymond. He is being arrogant. What could I say?"

"He is not arrogant. He is confident because he already knew about it, so what's the use of being nervous when asked?"

"Here you are again, defending Gabriel. What are you to him, his girlfriend?"

"I am only stating facts, based on my observations as well. We have the same Talent, or are you just crazy that you already forgot about it?"

Kian continued contemplating until he got his last question.

"In mastering a Talent, what is the percentage of successfully mastering it?"

"10 percent." Raymond immediately answered, making his classmates gasp in surprise.

"What? Only ten percent. Then, if that's the case, does that mean I will have a lesser chance too? It could be, but how does Raymond know it?"

"Raymond's backer is a general, as the rumors say. He could be tutored to excel in class even before the opening of the Academy."

"Hey, that is reasonable. But, just a quick question, why does Gabriel seem cold? I mean, he ignored us earlier."

"Those are the perks of being a genius. You don't have to think about others."

"That is reasonable."

Kian widely smiled, but outside, he was crazily grinning. Raymond retracted from it, being surprised by Kian's eccentric actions.

"You are smart, Raymond. I am telling you, you will be successful in life."

Raymond was clueless as to why Kian suddenly said it, but he just disregarded it afterward and raised a question instead.

"Will I get points for the other questions as well?"

Again, by that, his classmates were in disbelief, but Kian nodded in accordance with his question.

"Of course. That was splendid, by the way. So, I will be giving you 10 points in total. Now, your classmates should have the chance to have points as well, right?"

"Yeah, sure," Raymond answered in a bored tone and went back to his seat and put his head on the table. Kian was about to react, but after witnessing Raymond's sharp answers, he let him be.

The class continued for about another hour until Kian gave them their quarterly task.

"For the first quarter of the year, you will be raising your MP to unlock your first skill. As previously discussed, you will divide yourself into ten groups. In this group, you will have to discuss with each other how you plan to raise your MP. After that, you come back to me so that I can give you a tip about your methods."

"You will come to me after a week and continue to learn things about yourself. After that, we will have our next discussion while you do your quarterly task. Understood?"

"Yes, teacher!"

After a few seconds, Kian left the room to let the students form their groups. The students were around 50–60 in total, but since they came from the same village, they were familiar with each other, which hastened the groupings.

Some already had their own groups, but some were still looking for one. Kian didn't bother to look for groups and just continued sleeping when suddenly, three students approached him with a proposal.

"Raymond, don't you want to join us?" These three students were noble to consider. And what they had in common was that they only wanted to recruit someone who could help them. Hence, since they were nobles, money was never a problem for them. But, they were still lacking, and it was the brain of the group.

Raymond didn't open his eyes and casually swayed his hands while napping. "No thanks!"
