Chapter 168 - Ryuu Vs Fuguki Suikazan Round two!

'I followed Kisame's chakra and caught up with him after a few minutes, he went back into the village and he was behind a tall building.

I followed him slowly and carefully as he looked around to see if anyone was around; I stood between walls and got covered as I watched.

After confirming no one was following him, Kisame opened a grate and entered the tunnel.'

Ryuu waited as Kisame closed the grate.

After a minute, Ryuu made a hand sign.

"Shadow clone jutsu!"

*Poof!*

A clone of Ryuu spawned near him and entered.

'That'll stay ahead and show me the traps.' Ryuu thought before launching himself and diving into the tunnel.

The tunnel was hollow and long, with many corners and a wet floor.

Ryuu dashed ahead and followed Kisame while being alert and vigilant.

He stopped at a corner and hid.

On the other side, Kisame was meeting with someone who spoke in a deep voice that echoed inside the tunnel.

"Is someone following me?"

"No, Samehada senses no one nearby.

Do you have my money?"

"Of course, Fuguki-sama."

Ryuu opened his sleeve and quietly made a hand sign.

*Poof!*

A small toad appeared in Ryuu's hand.

"What was that?" Fuguki asked.

"I'm not sure. Let me check."

Kisame walked in the direction Ryuu was in and looked around.

"Ribbit!"

He looked down, a little disappointed.

"It's just a toad."

He said as he was heading back.

"What of your teammates? Have you done what's necessary?" Fuguki asked.

"What's with the questions?

You don't trust me anymore?"

"Trust? Hmph, there's been an attack recently.

No one survived to tell who it was, but they found dismembered bodies, among other versions of executions."

"So?"

"One victim was our trusty Hideo.

You know? The one we make deals with to get those expensive contracts."

Kisame's eyes widened.

"That's impossible! Hideo had backup with him and I would've heard it."

"Well, he's been put inside a strong genjutsu, no one has released it even now," Fuguki smirked and looked at Kisame as he continued,

"So you're saying you didn't do this?"

"No, he pissed me off, but business comes first, right?"

"Hmph…

Of course, this will bring trouble for us.

Nagakawa won't be very pleased that he died the way he did.

He'll probably think you did this because you were the last person to see him."

Kisame frowned.

Fuguki's grip on Samehada tightened, and the bandage wrapped around him started loosening as he said,

"Besides, I know just how sadistic you can be with your kills."

"You think this is me?!"

"Possibly.

Nagakawa has contacted me already, Kisame.

He isn't looking to work with me as long as I work with you.

But you know how things are with me, right?

Business comes first."

Right as he said that, he swung Samehada towards Kisame.

Whoosh! Kisame jumped back.

"I didn't do this!"

"I know, but Nagakawa doesn't."

Fuguki launched himself towards Kisame.

Fwoosh!

Ryuu appeared in front of them with a smirk.

He launched a kick to Fuguki's chest.

Boom!

A red blur appeared and sent him crashing into a wall.

"Long time no see, Fuguki."

"Tch!" Fuguki slowly got up from Ryuu's kick and clicked.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Kisame asked.

"I don't know, I just came here for a normal walk in the sewers, and then I found you two here.

Coincidence? I think not."

Kisame looked at Ryuu in a somewhat perplexed way.

"You two like taking sewer walks too, don't you?" Ryuu said with a smile.

"You're still a brat after all these years!"

Fuguki swung Samehada and Ryuu ducked.

"Hey, you look like you've gained some weight, Fuguki. You eating well?" Ryuu asked as he dodged his attacks.

"Or maybe it's the weight of all that guilt you carry for killing your comrades."

Ryuu caught Samehada as he was about to strike his face.

"Jeez, that was close, you know?

If you hit me, all the girls in Konoha would've killed you for it.

Especially my girlfriend." Ryuu smacked himself.

"No one's supposed to know we're still dating, so can you keep this a secret?"

Shink!

Samehada hardened and spikes stabbed Ryuu's hand.

"Clumsy fool," Fuguki smirked and pulled Samehada back with a trail of Ryuu's blood going with it.

Kisame stepped forward.

"Fuguki-sama, what is Ryuu talking about?"

"Utter garbage, get him!"

Kisame glared at Ryuu and took out his Katana.

"Hm hm." Ryuu lightly chuckled with a sinister smirk.

"You haven't told him? What a shame, isn't it?"

Ryuu carved out his Katana using hardened ash while his hand healed itself.

"You weren't supposed to interfere with Kirigakure's business.

Konoha will pay for such an insult."

"Business? What business is this?

Mercenary jobs, and betrayal?"

"Why does it matter to you? You aren't even part of this village."

"It matters to me because it matters to my friends here. Imagine the look on Mangetsu's face when I tell him you work as a mercenary who also kills his comrades."

Kisame clenched his fist.

"I kill them so that they don't give out information to other villages. It's for the greater good."

"Oh yeah? And who told you that? Fuguki?

You realize that he's been giving out information ever since the days of the shinobi war, right?"

"Enough!"

Kisame swung his Katana toward Ryuu's chest.

Cling!

Ryuu quickly countered and broke his Katana.

"I won't hurt a comrade, so just stay back, Kisame."

Ryuu looked up and saw multiple sharp senbon heading towards him and Kisame.

Kisame widened his eyes.

Seeing that he had no time to dodge, he covered himself.

Cling!

Ryuu created a giant shield out of hardened ash and blocked the projectiles.

Ryuu made a one-handed hand seal and lightning built in his hand.

"Lightning beast tracking fang!"

Grrr! Two giant dogs made of lightning ran toward Fuguki.

Fuguki jumped and ran on the ceiling towards Ryuu while Samehada absorbed the chakra from the jutsu Ryuu used, but the electricity fried him.

"Tch!" Fuguki jumped and made hand signs.

"Water style: Water dragon jutsu!"

A giant dragon started forming from the water below.

Fuguki shot it toward Ryuu and Kisame, it was big enough to cover the entire sewer while it traveled.

"Wow, what a waste of chakra," Ryuu spoke from behind him.

"Round two.

Fight!"

Saying this, a giant ball of chakra formed in the palm of his hand.

"Giant Rasengan!"

Boom!!!

The Rasengan exploded in his chest, filling the sewer while he flew back through a wall.

Ryuu looked over at Kisame.

"What the hell is this about? I thought Kirigakure and Konohagakure had an alliance?"

"We do."

Another voice spoke and as he entered Ryuu kneeled.

"Yagura, you got my message."

"I did."

"Mizukage-sama, what's going on?"

"Kisame, you've shown great loyalty to Kirigakure, but your master hasn't."

"What Ryuu said was true?

Why is he involved? Shouldn't this be solved by Kirigakure itself?"

"Because we've been breached."

"Breached?"

"Yes, Kirigakure had a mole inside. Someone was feeding Fuguki, Nagakawa, and his gang information.

Fuguki would sell that information to other villages such as the hidden stone, this would lead to us getting ambushed, and he'd convince you to kill your comrades to 'stop information from spreading.'

Now, do you understand?

For months, Ryuu has been working to stop the Nagakawa gang on his own.

Every time he visited, he'd spy and feed me Intel."

Kisame grit his teeth.

"Fuguki used me," Kisame muttered.

"Don't worry, Ryuu vouched for you and said you could be trusted."

"Did he now?" Kisame looked at Ryuu.

"Besides, Kirigakure now needs a new wielder for Samehada." Yagura looked for Samehada but couldn't find him.

"Sorry, this happens all the time, you know." Ryuu was struggling to push Samehada off his hand.

"Carry on, this won't take long, I swear."

Samehada swallowed Ryuu's entire arm.

"Tch!" Nobu clicked as he infused his chakra with Ryuu.

"Screech!" Samehada immediately shrunk and scampered away.

"Fine, I'll take him." Kisame took Samehada and put him on his back.

"Great, Ryuu's clone already took down Nagakawa and his gang."

"Um, Yagura, I gotta go now.

I'll be in the village for one more night and then I'll leave, alright?"

"Yes, thank you for your help, I'll pay you in full before you leave."

"Later, Kisame."

Ryuu teleported to his hotel.

"Yawn…

I'm beat." Ryuu stretched and fell on his bed.

He took off his mask and turned off his Sharingan before falling asleep.
