I snapped back and was shocked to see how much time had passed.
"Ryuu, you're back!" Kakashi barely gave me time to get back to my senses, as he was eager to see if I'd make it back.
"I'm glad you're alive. I didn't think you'd make it." Kakashi's vote of confidence slaughtered Ryuu's joyful mood.
"Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence in my survival, Kakashi," I responded.
He just scratched his head and chuckled nervously.
"Anyway Ryuu, you're just in luck. Jiraiya and Minato have just finished training." Ryuu's eyes lit up excitedly.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go already!" Without hesitating, Ryuu ran to where he left them, but he realized his sudden impatience made him look like a fool cause they weren't there.
"Um Kakashi, where are they?"
Kakashi just slapped his forehead as he was quite disappointed in him.
"As I was saying, they left cause they were called by the hokage immediately. They didn't have time, so they just left in case there was a mission. By now I'm sure they've already reached."
As Kakashi looked up, he saw Ryuu had already vanished.
He took off without warning and left Kakashi and Kushina behind.
"That idiot, he didn't even tell me what happened when he met the nine tails!"
Kakashi spoke, but he was too late. Ryuu had already left him too far behind.
Meanwhile, at the Hokage's office…
"I wonder what's taking him so long, anyway Jiraiya, Minato, I have a mission for you I'll give you an extra shinobi, take care of him, he's a rookie and barely has enough experience but his skills are far beyond his age, he needs this mission to grow."
Great Sarutobi-sensei is now sticking me with Genins. Where'd my life go wrong? Jiraiya asked himself.
Meanwhile, Minato was excited to see his new teammate.
I wonder who could have impressed Lord third this much that he stuck him with us? Anyway whoever he is, I look forward to working with him.
As Jiraiya and Minato were thinking about all of this.
Lord third sat down, handed them a scroll, and prepared to give them a brief explanation.
Just as he was about to start *SLAM*,
Ryuu intruded and slammed the door panting, he wiped the sweat off his head and said.
"So-sorry I'm late Sarutobi-sensei. I almost forgot to come."
Ryuus' sudden intrusion shocked everyone in the room.
"No problem, Ryuu, you are just in time, but close the door, please." Ryuu closed the door.
"Anyway, what's up? I saw that you called for me." Ryuu completely ignored Minato and Jiraiya's presence, and they were as confused as ever.
"I was just about to give a debrief for the mission, as you know we are in times of war, and because of this we can't afford to have any leaks about our plans, but recently we have discovered a spy from suna and I need you three to take care of this spy, this is a C-rank mission but could escalate to a B-rank if things get out of hand, hence why I called these two.
Jiraiya and Minato, they're going to lead you on this mission, which means you have to follow their lead and follow their command. Although I don't doubt your intelligence and skill, you still don't have nearly the same experience."
Jiraiya finally broke his silence. He couldn't take it anymore.
"Sarutobi-sensei, have you gone senile? Ryuu is just a child who just started at the academy the other day. I've heard that he's a great fighter, but that's simply not enough, especially for a mission like this."
The Hokage lit his pipe and smoked it. After all this time, he had gotten used to Jiraiya's interruptions, so he just waited until he was done.
"Ryuu isn't just an amazing fighter." He pulled out a folder and handed it to Jiraiya.
After reading it, Jiraiya was in awe. He couldn't believe it. "Impossible" The more pages he turned, the more he was amazed.
After reading it, he was speechless and just handed it to Minato.
Ryuu had an evil smile loafing upon his face as he looked at Minato, eagerly waiting for him to see what's inside.
Just thinking about Minatos' face when he sees his special record tied by me he hehe.
Minato noticed Ryuu's creepy look, but didn't pay any attention.
He read through the file and his face was just as stunned as Jiraiyas. He looked a little intimidated.
This is far better than I imagined.
"Well done, Ryuu. What surprised me is that not only did you become the second person ever to finish with perfect scores, but you did it in record time at such a young age, you truly are amazing."
Minato's humility really astonishes me after absolutely smashing his record he still complimented and congratulates me? I have to admit I'm disappointed that he won't at least look upset, but I'm also glad that he's acknowledged me.
After Minato finished reading it, he gave it back to Lord Third.
"As you can see, Ryuu has proven to be an excellent prospect in Konoha. With a little help and experience, he's bound to be a powerful ninja." He said as he returned the folder.
"You're right, his a genius just like Minato, maybe Ryuu I would like to take you under my wing as a student you'd be beside Minato, I don't want to brag too much but being taught by one of the legendary sannin is no small deal, but it's all up to you."
He's right, being taught by someone as powerful as Jiraiya could help me become stronger.
"It would be an honour," I replied
"You know Sarutobi-sensei, with all these Prodigies I'm training, some may even make the sanin pale in comparison
Well, alright then, let's go do your first mission, but given the dire situation, we should leave as soon as possible."
Just as we were about to leave, Lord third called us back.
"Before you leave, it would be an honour to personally give you this." He pulled out a leaf village head protector and handed it to me.
"Ryuu, you were never supposed to start this early, but I realised we would waste our time and your talents keeping you back in the academy, so for now this is your team and you're now an official hidden leaf village shinobi.
We left the Hokage's office and went to prepare for the mission. When I reached home, it surprised me to see that both Kakashi and Sakumo were waiting for me.
"Kakashi, I have some great news for you guys."
Kakashi nodded and said.
"We know."
"You know?"
Sakumo smiled and said.
"Of course we know. After I found out, I thought there was no problem in telling Kakashi that his brother was going to be starting his first mission."
I nodded and went straight to my room to pack. I sealed everything in a storage scroll and left my room.
After I left my room, Sakumo called me to his room.
"Knock Knock Knock"
"Come in."
I opened the door, and He looked like he was struggling to find something. He checked everywhere and couldn't find it. He sat down and thought about it for a while.
"Can I help you find something?" He didn't seem to get what he was looking for.
"Aha, now I remember!" He counted the tiles on the floor and opened 5 of them.
He carefully pulled out a black box which was covered in a soft material, like a new carpet. It had a claw mark across it. He placed it on a table and said,
"on the day that I found out that Hanzo had died, this was the first thing I looked for because I couldn't let it get into the wrong hands, Hanzo had always spoken about giving his son this one on his first ninja mission, there are only two of this item left he broke the other one in battle.
It worked just like the Book, it only needed a drop of my blood. I bit my finger and dropped it on the Claw. It lit up a red colour and unlocked itself. It was like some sort of steam coming out of the case. The steam left and it was much clearer. It had two letters on it. One with
"Sakumo," He checked the back, and it wrote "Sakumo open this when you're alone."
and the other "My son" it also had something wrapped underneath
I opened the letter and read it.
"Dear Ryuu, if you're reading this letter it means we are no longer alive, we hope you ended up staying with Sakumo or your Uncle, we knew you would find out somehow but I always wanted to be the one to tell you who and where he is but as long as you know now I'm fine with it. Because I can't think of anyone else, I'd rather have raised my son, the gift I've wrapped below is one of my custom made swords, I'm sure Sakumo said that I made it just to match him, but he's always been jealous of my sword so don't listen to him anyway, stay safe and be well.
Love, Dad."
By the time Ryuu finished it, I filled the letter with tears, and Ryuu could barely keep it still.
Ryuu wiped his tears off his face and calmed down before unwrapping what was inside. The first thing that was inside was a konoha head protector and the second thing he was shocked and speechless.
"Is this some kind of joke?" Nothing was there except the pommel.
Sakumo looked my way and laughed.
"Calm down, that sword is special and made only for you and your father just spilled some blood on the pommel."
"So much blood spilling. Are my parents trying to kill me before my mission? This better be worth it." I said
After biting my finger again, I placed it on the blade and a blade emerged glowing red and black with two shorter blades appearing on the sides, after revealing itself It became sharp with some writing on it that said "Death" it takes a little of my chakra to activate the blade.
"Ryuu, what you're looking at there is the death blade made by your father in an attempt to match my skill." He jokingly said,,
I looked at him and just rolled my eyes. "He said you would say something like that." I just smacked my face with my hand.
He looked at me in disbelief and tried to change subjects again.
"Ahem, as I was saying it can't be held by someone who's not your direct blood relative meaning now you're the only one who can use it until you get a son, also the sword has a strange power, where whoever is using it it cannot be harmed by the sword and it can use ranged attacks by throwing some sort of chakra or energy.
It only accepts a direct blood relative from hanzo. I don't know how he made it. All I know is that he's the only one who could use it, and that's how he earned his nickname, but anyway,
you're getting late so I'll hurry and tell you what to do and what not to do in a foreign country just in case you guys end up in suna."
Sakumo spent 2 hours lecturing me about missions, I'm glad I have him here his battle and mission experience is very helpful to me and he gave it to me for free, sure it was boring but I'm glad cause in some scenarios he gave me I would've died. After two hours I went to say goodbye to kakashi.
I found Kakashi just relaxing on his bed. He was happy to see me.
"Kakashi, I'm leaving now. I just came to say goodbye, so yeah, take care and all."
He looked at me and said.
"Well, alright then, take care Ryuu, don't get killed." Huh?
"Kakashi you idiot, if you think all it's going to take to kill me is a C-rank mission, then I just have to show my strength more." He smiled and waved at me as I left. I waved them back and headed to the meeting spot.
