"Ahh, you are finally here!" Kevin exclaimed as Anna's car stopped beside his own.
"Didn't I ask you to drive together?" Anna asked, frowning as she saw two cars rather than one.
"We drove together!" Kevin answered with a pause, "But in different cars!"
Sighing out loud, she shook her head as they looked at the three cars now blocking the road. They were grabbing too much attention, specifically, Kevin's bold red sports car, and that made her only sigh again. She just wished none to cross the road, at least until the summoning rituals were over though it was doubtful for anyone to enter this newly haunted crime site.
"What's she doing there?" She asked looking at Kyra who was sitting inside the chakra, with her AirPods plunged in.
Staring at her back, Kevin just shrugged again as Anna looked at him with a frown. He was acting like Kyra didn't exist and Anna sighed as she read his thoughts.
"She has the right to be angry!!" Anna mumbled as they walked towards her. It seemed like Kyra avenged him about something and he was cursing pretty hard about the same in his head.
"After all, you crossed the line first this time!" She added, giving him a side look and he just nodded, following her lead.
Ohh, yeah! He was at fault and he deserved that punishment! It was not like he was the only scumbag who always crossed the line, she did that many times too!
"Oh, that's not true!" Anna mumbled reading his thoughts. "She never crosses her line! At least not that I have noticed!" She corrected his defending anger against Kyra.
Sighing out loud when he just scoffed, Anna ignored their skyrocketing hateful opinions towards each other and tried keeping her mind calm. She needed to drive out the best from it, and that required peace and stability.
"Kyra!" She called out, as they reached the edge of that Chakra. And when she didn't respond, Anna moved forward to step on that Chakra.
"No, it will burn," Kevin gulped down his next words as Anna stepped inside the chakra, with ease! So only he could get burnt! Great, he scoffed crossing his hands! And, here he was scolded even when he was the one to suffer in Kyra's little savage tricks!
"Stop it! Will you?" Anna groaned as his thoughts turned aggressive.
Bending down, Anna tapped on Kyra's shoulder and she immediately responded as if attacked by an enemy. Turning around, she glared only to blink in surprise shifting her gaze between Anna and Kevin.
"Sorry, I was gathering my energy!" Kyra mumbled as she got deeply involved in the process and plugged out her Airpods.
"So, you did that on purpose! Didn't you?" Kevin grumbled as she stood up with Anna's help. He was still outside the chakra afraid that Kyra might hurt him again.
"What?" She asked, as her mind was still in the other world busy collecting up her inner energy.
"My leg!" Kevin stretched his leg, and he even moved it around the Chakra's edge as she tried processing his words.
"Ohh!" Kyra pursed her lips and getting out of the Chakra, she added, "That was absolutely intentional!"
"Great! Thank you!" Kevin said staring at Anna who just shook her head. Alright, Kyra sometimes crossed the line, at least with her tricks! He had managed to prove and convince her!
"My Pleasure!" Kyra curtly replied. She wasn't a fool to let his words go in vain, at least without being paid by something in return. And hurting his leg was just a small token of her gratitude.
"Where are the potions?" Kyra asked, stepping out of that bickering phase. They had better things to do and succeed tonight.
"Oh, yeah! In my car!" Anna mumbled pointing at the car and Kyra nodded. She then looked at her time and then her Vishachati Chakra. It was good and would look perfect only after she started performing her ritual. Just like in those horror movies involving witches and wizards!
"So, you are all set? Do you need any help?" Anna asked, following her gaze that seriously skimmed the circle.
"Everything is fine! Let's just hope to be spared death for this sin!" Kyra sighed closing her eyes. And Anna could only pat her in sympathy. There were rumors that the magic elites tormented Black Magic practitioners to death. Performing it without consent would result in similar punishment, she was at least aware of that part.
"I will be the one dying here!" Kevin tried to poke in, partly jealous that Kyra was receiving all the concern. He was doing the major part, unlike someone who just needed to spell out and summon a grim reaper!
Reading his thought, Anna just shook her head and patted his back. If she weighed the dangers, both were on equal balance but Kyra worried her more than Kevin. Kevin had dotes and antidotes for his rescue, at least he would make it alive, even though coma was one of the side effects she was warned by Dr. James.
But, Kyra was on a whole different plate. Summoning a grim reaper was pretty hard, it required courage and striking skills which she was greatly famous for in her unit. But, performing black magic was a sin-equivalent crime in the worlds of mages. Worse, she wasn't sure of the reactions from those creatures from hell! They were known for their tempers and she just wished for Kyra's throat to be spared for disturbing their flow of work!
"Anna," Kyra pressed her shoulder firmly as she was deeply in her thoughts.
"Huh. yes?" And at her reply, Kyra continued, "Let me show you how those weapons work."
Anna nodded and only then did she realize that Kevin was already bringing those weapons to them. Stepping out of the chakra, they both helped Kevin empty the bag.
"These are a bit tricky, but if you manage to connect with them, they are very easy to use," Kyra mumbled separating the weapons.
She had brought them from the black market through a friend who dealt with creatures from the outcast world. She was familiar with them as her father had trained her during his working time in KNIGHTS. And seeing those weapons only brought her the harsh memories of her childhood days. She had lost her family at a young age, everyone left her as if she was a bad omen, and that only pricked her healed heart.
"You alright?" Anna asked as Kyra continued staring at the weapons, her eyes turning oddly red. Nodding her head, Kyra shook off her thoughts and then took out the pistol.
"This is an 'Illusion Gun'." She dropped it down and to their surprise, the gun disappeared from their sight.
"As long as you convince your mind that it is a real gun, it will work in the same way!" Kyra mumbled, and as she opened her palm the gun reappeared again. "It works like a gun. Hurting the Wendigo when you fire at it! But, there won't be any wounds since it's all just an illusion you frame inside the culprit's head." Saying that she pointed it at Kevin and shot her first bullet.
"Ahh," Blood seeped down Kevin's chest and when he was about to die in shock, the pain evaporated along with the gun in Kyra's hand.
"See!" Kyra mumbled, practically proving them and both sighed out loud as Kevin touched his chest which was firm like before.
"You need to manipulate your mind that it is a gun. As long as you stay in that illusion, it will continue hurting and tormenting the culprit! Just like now!" She added, smiling at Kevin who gritted his teeth, cursing her inside his head.
"Why does it have to be always me?" He grumbled, his hand still holding that shot place tightly. He needed time to recover from that completely unexpected attack! Oh, god his heart almost felt like it lost its existence!
"Because you are an easy target," Kyra added, visioning the gun again and it appeared in her palms. "A weak one to add!" She expressed with a smile, so pretentious that Kevin wanted to tear down her lips. Only if that gun was real and he could shoot inside her annoying mouth!!
"Fiat sclopetis illusio. It is the simple spell for this gun to be activated." Kyra said passing the gun to Kevin, who took it, only to disappear the moment it landed on his palm.
At her gesture to try the spell, Kevin mumbled the spell, "Fiat sclopetis illusio!" And boom, the gun was back in his hands. But before he could even think of giving back her gift, Kyra moved to the next weapon. She wasn't dumb to fall for her own trick!
"And these, 'Sediotons', the sedative spell cloned shackles," Taking the long metal chains, coated in silver which had round knuckles at both ends with sharp thorns pointed inside, she explained, "Like the name, these will help you weaken the Wendigo's powers. They have strong induced sedation that will act when these thorns prick the flesh of any kind." And when they nodded, she demanded, "Just make sure to tightly wrap them!"
Moving to the next weapon, that was actually looked like a rifle, Kyra explained, "These are, 'Seitio Rocles', they look like rifles, but when you shoot them," Directing it towards the forest, Kyra tried practically giving them an idea, she pulled the trigger and continued, "They will turn into rocks, small stones before invading the flesh." And just like she said, the rifle turned into a rock and vanished inside the forest.
"The moment it touches the skin, they will start burning it and scraping it! The effect is so strong that, till date, no creature made it alive when fired with a minimum of 20 at them." Kyra ended and both nodded, looking at all the weapons.
There were just as many as five people could handle and they didn't understand why Kyra would waste so many. Barely, the two of them, if Kevin managed to pull out that culprit, could use around five of each of those weapons.
And to their surprise, suddenly a car started dashing towards them from the opposite side. Two more cars followed behind and they halted a few meters away from the Chakra.
"Cops?" Kevin blinked in surprise looking at the police cars and the three got up to face them.
"Isn't that the cop from the other day?" Kevin mumbled squinting his eyes and when Anna looked at him in confusion, he added, "The one who was present during the pre-investigation process."
And when David, the captain of the team lead his team towards them, both of them panicked while Kyra sighed, relieved that he had accepted her offer to help them.
"I called them!" Kyra answered all their confusion and both looked at her, taken aback!
"Are you insane?" Kevin grumbled, panicking inside.
"Do you think you guys can manage alone while I get busy in the ritual?" Kyra replied, in a crude voice.
"We cannot trust an outside! Can we?" He asked, now looking at Anna to say something.
Kyra sighed bitterly and turned around to face him, "First of all, tell me, after you come out of that trance, will you have any strength to fight against that monster?" And when had no answers, she crossed her arms and added, "I am sure you won't nor would Anna since she will use hell energy while reading your thoughts! So, instead of getting betrayed by our own KNIGHTS defenders, I thought trusting them would be better!"
"Don't worry, we are good at keeping secrets!" David who had stopped on the other side of the Chakra, opposite to them, said bowing to Anna who curtsied in reply.
"And also in fighting against the monsters." He added with a smile as Kyra turned around to face him and his team.
"Thanks for reaching out!" Anna replied, glad that Kyra asked outsiders for help.
Even she was doubting if they could manage just by themselves and having a few more hands, especially a well-trained wolf pack would sure increase their success rate. She thought, smiling at Kyra and patting her back as the girl doubted her decision.
"You did a good job." She praised, as her confidence raised seeing David and his team.
A super-skilled witch, a talented psychometrist, a well-trained defender of wolves, and herself, a superior high elf! The team looked perfect and she was all set for the mission! All set to give justice to that poor trapped soul!
