"*Sigh* it seems like I need to get involved now," Eden said while turning to the scum group.
Eden immediately used polymorphose to change his appearance. He didn't want to get people's attention, especially since as Athis said this morning, he could be called a piece of art, so drawing attention wasn't on his to-do list.
As he advanced towards them, his physical appearance changed. It went from its more than
1m80 to about 1m50. He then put his cape in his inventory and one could immediately see the changes he had made with his spell.
His snow-white hair had turned light brown. His red eyes had changed into a crystal blue that was even more beautiful than a gemstone. He also changed his clothes so that they could go with his appearance. He had a black top that went up to half of his neck with lace on top that stood out from the white closure that was in the middle of the garment, and that went from the neck to the bottom of his belly. His sleeve was pretty long and he also had white pants that had tucked inside his black boots, which made it look like there were air bubbles in where his pants had tucked in.
Once his transformation was complete, he called out to the thugs that didn't even seem to have noticed what they had done.
"Hey, bunch of pigs, the least you can do is apologize when you target someone, right?" Eden said while looking down on the thugs.
"Huh, what does a minus like you want to do against us huh? Don't you see our height difference? Just f*ck off if you don't want to spend your night in the hospital" One of the men said, turning around. He had an imposing physique, which suggested that he was oriented towards strength rather than anything else.
"*Giggle* what the minus wants is very simple, but it's more up to me to ask you. What do you prefer between being poisoned to death, or being tortured until you want to die? Or maybe both?" Eden asked with a demonic smile. It looked like a little demon with his new appearance and his devilish smile.
"Pfft HAHAHAHAHA"Laughed all the thugs in unison. "Look at him trying to play the hero" Added the man with the imposing physique.
"*Sigh* It seems that the garbage will never cease to exist in this world," Eden said while shrugging his shoulders. His long sleeves moved at the same time as everything he did with his upper body which gave a strange feeling when one would look at him.
'I don't think torturing them in broad daylight with so many people isn't the best thing to do, so we're going to leave for the poison,' he thought.
In the back, Athis was looking at the scene with a worried look. He didn't know if Eden could cope with four adults who were significantly superior in level in comparison to him. He had seen his oral skills when he was at his mother's palace, but not his combat skills. He had certainly brought an astronomical amount of equipment with him, but he wasn't sure if he could believe that or not. Humans were much smarter than monsters, and above all, much more vicious. But even if he worried, there was nothing he could do. He just didn't dare to go and help him.
Not wanting to let go of the woman who was with them, three of the thugs took a fighting posture while the last one was in the back with his arm on the neck of the young woman, which prevented her from fleeing. She also couldn't use spells because one of the guys had used a gadget that prevented her from channeling her mana.
One of the three then launched towards Eden while the other two remained in the rear to observe, but still in a combat posture. The one who had launched on Eden was rather skinny but quite fast. He had also taken out two daggers from his inventory, which suggested that he had a connection to an assassin class.
Eden, therefore, prepared to fight by creating a spear. The spear had a great attack range, unlike the daggers that were used at very short range. However, as soon as he was about to materialize it, his assailant disappeared before his eyes.
'Tch, how annoying. You're gonna lose anyway, why bother wasting my time?' Eden thought while being bored by the invisibility spell.
Eden continued, however, with his "plan". He created his spear and closed his eyes. All other senses were awakened when a person could no longer see, including hearing. He then focused on this particular sense for a few moments, while having his spear positioned in such a way that his hand was down while his spear rested on his back.
He had become so focused that he couldn't even hear the people around him anymore. It was at this moment that he heard a noise from his right. He immediately relieved his cluster of his spear and made a horizontal slash in the open air towards the direction of the noise. Thanks to the spear's reach, Eden managed to make a large cut in his assailant's abdomen, which brought him out of his invisibility at the same time.
"Fu*king asshole, how did you know-... The man said before he spat a mouthful of blood on the ground.
"Well, it looks like the poison works wonderfully," Eden said to himself aloud. He didn't like speaking while fighting, but seeing the sense of helplessness in the eye of his victims brought him some joy.
'Since poisoned blood has a high consumption of HP and MP, I don't think I could abuse it. But heck, it's not like I need it" he thought before creating a thin needle and throwing it right in the middle of the man's forehead who was still on the ground.
In just a few seconds, the latter collapsed on the ground. Seeing that he was on the ground and that the others still hadn't come to their senses after seeing a level 8 beat a level 20, Eden rushed to the man's body to take a drop of his blood. He had not forgotten that he could gain a large increase in stats every time he drank someone's blood, and in this situation, additional stats would not be refused.
Not wanting to make the fight last any longer, Eden created 4 needles and threw two at each of the other members ready to fight. Against all odds, one of them was a priest and immediately used a barrier to prevent the needles from touching them. He didn't know what effects they had but he was sure of one thing, that these needles might be the end for them.
'Tch, a priest now? They have such a good team and the only thing they find to do is harassing people?" Eden thought while being angry. They were wasting his time, and if there was one thing he hated the most, it was wasting his time on useless things. So wanting to finish things quickly, Eden dissipated his spear and created a bow instead.
Seeing that he was beginning to prepare something else, the man with the imposing physique took out a short sword and a wide shield before rushing on Eden. He immediately used a provocation spell which was a classic spell for tank classes.
Hearing the provocation, Eden's mind began to move in a way that he wouldn't begin to attack the big man with his bow, but instead in hand-to-hand combat.
"You used to do be so clever a few seconds ago and now look at y-... The man said before being interrupted by Eden, which surprised him enormously. A person with 12 fewer levels escaped a provocation that had never been heard by anyone before that.
"Shut your mouth before I rip it myself," Eden said in a calm voice but with a look that made the tank shiver with fear. He didn't like it one bit the provocation spell. His mind went blank and at this moment, he didn't like it when he couldn't think about anything else but attacking one person.
Eden immediately stretched out the string of his bow and sent an arrow of mana into the sky that created a light blue magic circle in the air. He had created the bow by putting a little mana inside, which was why he was able to do that. However, he had not put enough mana to kill a person. Just enough to knock them out with a big blow.
Seeing the magic circle forming faster and faster, the priest immediately activated his spells and created several barriers after increasing the defensive stats of his ally as well as himself. After receiving the stat increases, the tank rushed to Eden with a speed that was... nit.
Just when he was close enough to Eden to inflict damage on him, the magic circle took action and something unexpected happened. At least... something unexpected for a person who was neither a mage nor an archer and who could not activate spells like these.
