"Why does this son is covered in blood and our dear vampire so pale? Well, no need to be bothered by that, better take them to the palace, I can proceed with the question later." The woman said to herself before putting Eden and Athis in a giant hourglass.
Karaine was the person who came to the scene. She had come after seeing the gigantic pillar of white light appear out of nowhere. However, she had not come to help the teenagers who had gotten themselves into trouble, no, she had come because this pillar seemed extremely familiar to her. She had only seen one person in her whole life using something like this, and she had hoped that she would have been able to see that person again when she decided to come here.
Unfortunately for her, fate was a cruel mistress because this person was not there. Instead, she had just found these two children who presumably had just come out of a battle far too hard for them. Well... she suspected that it was Eden who had done everything and that Athis had only stayed in the back watching his friend being beaten to death. It was for this reason that she hated him so much. A person to whom you cannot entrust your back was not worthy to live in this world, this world far too cruel for saints to live in.
So the Empress took the road to her palace, and in just a few minutes she had already arrived at her destination. She immediately ordered to put the two people who were with her in a room, wash them, and treat them as V.I.P guests before letting them rest.
Once she had checked that everything was in order, the Empress let her servants take care of them and left for her office to continue working. She did, however, have a worried look on her face as she reflected on the events of the past. If that person has indeed woken up from his slumber, then it could as well be the end of the races existing on Hydrel.
"*Sigh* what an idea to have put him through this after all that he did for us. I hope he doesn't want to take revenge on the next generations and only on us." Karaine said to herself as she looked at the full moon before continuing her work. She had to conduct an emergency meeting to alert the leaders of the different races of what might happen soon.
The night went very quickly, and the sun rose very quickly too. Eden was the first to wake up and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw an unknown ceiling. Therefore, he immediately put his guard up before observing what was around him. And right next to his bed, there was another bed where there was a person inside. Suspicious of what, might be in, Eden slowly approached the bed, and once he was close enough, he saw who was sleeping.
"Athis" Eden suddenly shouted as he saw his friend.
Eden immediately approached the bed, completely forgetting that he had to be in custody. He immediately looked at whether Athis was okay and if he had been completely treated. And to his surprise, he didn't even have a scratch on his body.
"Wait. Was it me who treated him? But how? None of my spells worked yesterday." He wonders in shock.
However, he couldn't stay like this for too long could because he heard very quickly that a person was approaching the room in which they were.
Eden immediately conjured up a multitude of spells of different colors. There was green, blue, black, and even red which were his vampire spells. Once everything was ready, he also immediately created a bow using a third of his HP for maximum efficiency on the physical level. His spells covered the magical plan so he saw no point in wasting his MP stupidly by putting it in his bow.
Eden didn't know who was approaching or their levels. And because of that, his paranoia hit him very hard at this moment. He could only hope that he was not in enemy territory because otherwise, he will have a hard time fleeing while keeping Athis with him, who was unfortunately still asleep or unconscious.
Not that he would run away without him either. He will protect him until he can fend for himself or he no longer wants him.
The footsteps became louder and closer. Eden didn't notice it but his heart was beating extremely fast. Suddenly, the door opened wide and all the spells began to shine while the bow was stretched to the maximum.
"One more step and it would be death who will await-..." Eden said before noticing who was at the door.
"Oh my, I didn't know you were treating your saviors like this." The Empress said, seeing everything that was pointed at her.
"Haha" Eden chuckled sarcastically before turning everything off with a snap of the finger. "For, as far as I know, you didn't do anything except the fact that you take us to your palace," Eden replied with his eyebrows furrowed once he had put all the pieces of the puzzle in place.
"You know Eden, one of the things I hate the most in the world is people who are too smart." She says as she walks to the sofas that were right in front of the beds. "Sit down, I have a few quick questions for you. You can imagine that I was very worried when I saw that Athis was on a puddle of blood, right?"
'Go burn in hell sl*t. If you were worried about him why is he so scared talking about you huh?' Eden thought as he heard the Empress's remark. However, he didn't say anything out loud for fear of dying on the spot and simply decided to sit down.
Sitting with an unopened face for a conversation.
"Let's get started," Karaine said with a smile. "Explain to me everything that happened yesterday during your fight." She asked while making it clear what she wanted.
It was clear that she was looking for something, otherwise, why wouldn't she have said all day instead of only during the fight? This did not escape Eden at all and decided to tell her only the bare necessities.
He told her what had happened from the moment they left the restaurant. Eden, however, had not told her what he had told Athis, namely his understanding of the system. He then told her that the gang probably wanted revenge and that was why they had come to the top of the hill.
"But that doesn't explain how Athis was on a puddle of blood and how you were as pale as a ghost," Karaine said after noticing that Eden had stopped in his story and that there were still holes missing in what he had told.
"Athis was on a puddle of blood because of my inattention. The enemy took me by surprise by attacking him and I didn't have the time to save him. Because of this, Athis had suffered a fatal injury. As for me, I was so pale because I had used far too many resources during this fight. »
"I see, and how did you treat Athis if he had suffered a fatal injury? He had absolutely no scratches on his body when I brought him here."
"I had simply bought the best quality potion in one of the shops in town. Without that, I don't think he could have survived." Eden lied through his teeth while tears were flowing from his eyes. Well, some would say that it was water magic and not tears but who cares?
"I see. In this case, last question and I leave you. Do you know where the great pillar of white light came from?"
'Ah, that's how I treated him? It explains everything now,' he thought very quickly before replying with astonishment.
"A white pillar?" He asked. "I'm sorry but I think I must have already fainted at that time.
'If it wasn't Eden, it could only be him.'
"Thank you, Eden," she said as she stood up and walked to the door. "You can visit the palace if you wish. You will stay here until your depart for the academy so you might as well put yourself at ease"
"*Sigh* what a pain. Not even a reward for saving his son from death. And what did she have with this white pillar? She seemed much more interested in that part than in any other." Eden wondered before taking a chair and sitting next to Athis' bed. "I hope you're not ill and that you are recovering well Athis."
While Eden waited for Athis to get up, Karaine was extremely on guard. She asked her right-hand man to call all the representatives to have a meeting to talk about this unexpected new case.
"I won't let you drag us down like the last time. You're far too dangerous for this place. It's either you or us, Lancelot.' Karaine thought with determination.
