Ivy knows what her mother did to Prince, her husband. Even though she had gone against her mother's wishes, Ivy was at least happy because long before Melanie cast the spell on Theodoric, he had already fallen in love with her.
She looked at Melanie who nodded at her, then they arrived at King Idriz's magnificent room. Ivy immediately sat down beside her father. Holding his hand and smiling at him.
"Finally, you came," said Idriz feeling blessed.
"Yeah. Of course, father. You're all right, aren't you?" Ivy asked.
Idriz looked at his daughter lovingly. Then his gaze fell on Theodoric, who then bowed to his father-in-law.
"Make sure she's happy, Theodoric," Idriz advised his son-in-law.
"Father!" cried Ivy. She hates when her father says things that she feels are not typical of her father.
"With all my soul, King. I promise you," replied Theodoric.
King Idriz felt at ease after hearing Theodoric's sincerity answer him earnestly. Then he looked around him with a determined look.
"Let me talk to Theodoric," Idriz said to the others.
"Husband, am I needed here?" Luis asked him.
"No. I just want to have a private talk with Theodoric, Luis," Idriz refused directly.
Queen Luis' face turned sour and she immediately came out following her daughter, Lily. Ivy also came out to make a room for them.
When leaving King Idriz's room, Ivy prefers to find Melanie, her mother. She thought her mother would be somewhere near the palace, but when she looked for her and even found Rula or Quil, they shook their heads in disbelief.
"The Queen didn't say anything. She suddenly disappeared, Your Majesty," said Rula.
Ivy sighed. Her mother always often disappeared just like that with her magic spells. But, what she did not like was that Melanie disappeared without telling her.
Ivy then went back inside. Sitting waiting in front of King Idriz's room, there was a long bench to enjoy the cool air that came in from the balcony.
"How does it feel to be married to a Prince? Are you free to rule?" Lily asked with her arms folded across her chest.
"Marrying the Prince of the most magnificent palace doesn't make me powerful. Treated well, that's enough for me," Ivy replied calmly.
Lily huffed in annoyance. She looked at Ivy with disdain. But for Ivy, it was normal for her. Especially knowing that she and her stepsister are not that close.
"Don't you pretend to be humble! I'm sure you have power over there that you use to your heart's content! How could Prince Theodoric like you like that?!"
Lily was still accusing Ivy of things Ivy didn't even do. Theodoric who heard that then cleared his throat. He had finished speaking to King Idriz. Lily was taken aback and lowered her head.
"My wife does have power, but she doesn't do anything based on her power, Princess Ivy. You'd better watch your mouth," said Theodoric.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty."
"She is even your sister, even if you are not blood-related, you should be kind to her," advised Theodoric.
This time Lily did not say anything. She immediately left Theodoric and Ivy with an annoyed look on her face and the grunt she let out as she walked away from them.
Theodoric drew closer to Ivy. His hands grabbed Ivy's cheeks and looked at his wife's beautiful face. "Are you all right, my wife?"
Ivy nodded. "I'm fine, Theodoric. But if I may give you a suggestion, you better not reprimand Lily like that. Because usually she always complains to Queen Luis and I'll get scolded by her."
"I won't let bad people hurt you. So don't be afraid. I'll be waiting for you in the carriage, King Idriz is calling for you," Theodoric said.
Ivy nodded and went back into her father's room. She sat on the edge of his bed and smiled at her ailing father.
"Father ... you called me?" Ivy asked.
"That's right, my daughter. Are you happily married to Prince Theodoric?"
"Of course, father. He's kind and loves me so much."
"Good. I can rest easy now. But I'm starting to feel better thanks to your mother's potion. Did you see her?"
Ivy shook her head weakly with pursed lips. "Mother didn't even say goodbye to me. But you know, father, that she would come sneaking around like she always does?"
King Idris nodded. "Right. So you don't have to worry. I know your mother wouldn't let me die. We love each other."
Ivy's lips curled into a smile when she heard her father say that. Although unfortunately, they had to separate because of the demands of the citizens and their different castes. Even so, Ivy never once blamed her parents' decisions.
"I'm going back to Buckingham, would you mind if I left you, father?"
"Of course, my daughter. You really should go back to your husband's palace. I don't want you here and being tormented by your stepmother and stepsisters," said King Idriz, who did know what his daughter was going through.
Ivy kissed King Idriz's forehead and smiled at him. "See you later, father. Keep healthy as long as I'm not here. I love you," Ivy said.
"I love you too, my daughter."
With slow steps, Ivy left King Idriz's room and was surprised to see Melanie, her mother at the door.
"Mother! You startled me!" cried Ivy.
"Shhh ... come here. I'll give you something," Melanie said and pulled her daughter a little away from her husband's room.
Ivy looked left and right to see if anyone had seen them. After confirming that no one was there, she then looked at her mother.
"Where have you been, mother? I and father were looking for you!" Ivy asked.
Melanie was still silent. Then she took her daughter's hands and closed her eyes. Then a bluish-green glow appeared around her grip on Ivy. Ivy was confused and in an instant, she felt something enter her body.
"Now, you have magic that you can use when you are in trouble. You can also help someone weak. In essence, use my magic for something good, my daughter. I will take care of your father. Now, go with your husband, don't worry about everything. I love you," said Melanie, touching Ivy's cheek.
