Chereads / Feral Eclipse / Chapter 18 - 18. Orate

Chapter 18 - 18. Orate

I never wanted a quiet,

sensible sort of love.

I always wanted to be devoured.

.

I tried to speak.

But I was suffocated.

Smothered even.

My chest was caved inward on the inside cradling organs that heaved and disintegrated under a astounding pressure. An alpha's command. I submitted my throat; swollen shut without effort and moist.

I am thrown down under as for a second I denied gravity; being discarded like garbage, and in this translucent moment— I kissed the ground in awareness I would soon die. I'd deteriorate softly into a void that was so unfamiliar to me and greeting at the same time.

While screaming, I couldn't hear nor feel a damned thing.

I shielded myself from being thrashed to my knees as mud-covered every ounce and cranny of my body, but it was truly my soul that felt to be dirtied. My mate, Alexander, hadn't even given me time to respond as  I am easily gasping for a chance to speak — but all I could muster was the red and anger spewing from his voice in which he spat.

That's when I succumbed to my shell once again to being dragged. I feel so weightless and vandalized, I couldn't even swipe the rocks that stuck harshly into my skin away because of fast and sharply we were moving.

That's when he repeated himself and I could finally concentrate over the growls and snarls, "Answer me, pup. How dare you!" The alpha demands a response but I couldn't decipher any sentence.

I devoured my tongue after it consistently lolled outside of my mouth, and the ground beneath me was replaced by white marble floors to my assumption; we were now inside the manor.

My body burned from pure weakness as my shoulders slacked after my mate did yet again- throw me, he tossed me around as if I were useless. I don't know, maybe he had the right.

He pulls me by the roots of my hair until I reached eye level to him and he pushes me into the closest wall where I wince and he grimaces, now that he's close I can literally smell his fit of despise, rubbing around me until it filtered my nose the same as alcohol did. "You're hurting me," I admit.

I don't know what's more tender, the bruise forming around my neck due to his grip or with every strike, I manage to get at his chest, decreased my strength, and proven futile against his hardness. "Please Alexander, release me!" I cried with heavy tears as I pounded against him but he did not care, I'm sure of it.

He stood entirely placid with fidgeting fists, easily without another second spared I soon collapsed to the floor as my face hits the coldness. "Little one you are in big trouble." The prince seethes, "I gave you chance after chance."

All I can do was gaze into the male who rocked on his feet dauntingly as I slid to the nearest corner to crumble. As bad as I wanted to ask what had I done so wrong that caused him to treat me like this after expressing himself to me, I wanted to breathe. I dedicated myself to survival.

"Please," I beg and plead but my voice box was broken and detached. There were no more tears left to cry as he neared me with such devious eyes that were in slits as he made his way towards me with power in his walk, he carried ammunition. My screams grow louder to the point they were so ear-deafening, I didn't even know what I was wishing for, or who.

~ THIRD-PERSON ~

Alexander storms for his little mate again marching with his steps dosed in vigor. Impatiently, his fists shook by his side with every stride he advanced until Heidi came running into the room looking around, instantly her eyes fell to the expiring Vera with tears streaming down from her hazel irises, "Stop Bane, stop it right now!" She demands as her body is filling with sobs and repel.

Heidi shrieks running towards her brother where she began to tug at his clothing, "You won't be able to control yourself!" Vera shudders rolling onto her backside to feel shattered pieces of glass cutting open her flesh.

In her mate's eyes, she saw hatred, a surging detestation wrapped in lightning bolts but deep down swarming like bees and collecting like a tidal wave was... Fear. A dreaded love-sick passion dressed in Cupid's clothing.

Cupid's arrows reminded her exactly how her relationship with Alexander went most of the time. It resembles red like his eyes delivering a burning desire for one, a target. But what came after was much more cunning. A love that looked like Hate in absolution.

Their love was deadly with thorns but with the satisfaction of being pricked.

"Did you do it?" The lycan inside of Alexander spews venom, points an accusing finger at Heidi, he couldn't stop from shaking to were his words vibrated out of his mouth, "Had you sister, went against me and allowed that testimonial dogma, onto my land. My territory!" He reels his fist back as if he wanted to punch Heidi off of her feet, but he refrains. His wolf reveals himself through his possessor's eyes.

Heidi peeks at Vera out of the corner of her gaze with her mouth laid agape, "No. Of course not, are you kidding me right now!? Why would I do such a thing." Heidi curses and her wolf does the same, pushing forward to reveal her beast's surging electrical orbs with her claws extending.

Vera slides deeper into the wall hoping any moment now it would swallow her whole. The disappointment flooded her senses at a savior for its victory, but when it hadn't come, she sulked even further.

"Listen to me, Alexander Bane. You have to calm down." Heidi shouts grabbing her brother by the shoulders giving him a shake. She grew laced with worry seeing him lose his mind. "I am more than calm!" He roars again turning his back to her. Heidi stumbles. She easily clambers to Vera's distressed figure only for Alexander to growl even harder and more feral. Any advances his sister made to his mate, stirred agility and hatred within his being.

"Me and Vera found him just yesterday plotting something." Heidi began while wrapping her arms around Vera who looked to be having an asthmatic response. "We were coming here to tell you yesterday. I don't know what got in the way." She apologizes further but this does little to nothing in easing the Lycan Prince's nerves.

He's gritting his teeth and points an accusing finger toward her. "You're a bitch you know that?" He looks to want to say something else but instead, he throttles it back while tossing his head back, releasing the most guttural growl anyone has ever heard.

Alexander seems to be fighting internally but displayed his tarnished fingers over his face, he looks down at his mate. His growls were getting louder and more anger-driven. She could see the canines sprouting from his gums poking promptly at his bottom red lip. "I hate to have you see me like this." He was losing strength, unraveling as control slipped from his body.

A single tear slides from Vera's eyes to see her mate so disheveled and in pain when she realizes he was about to shift. He falls to his knees letting out a desperate cry out in sorrow for her to mourn. His cries were morphing into howls — all this unfolding as his sight remained on his little.

Vera feels something pro-lick in her chest until it converted into a weight that had been placed like rocks into her stomach. As she stares into Alexander's human form becoming a gruesome creature she feels herself being ruffled forward.

The hairs on the back of her neck raise as she bites down on her lip seeing his clothing torn and his skin breaking away from his other limbs as fur began to sprout. She crawls towards him still on her knees.

He seems to be gasping for air as hot tears pooled from his eyes, beading sweat leaking from his forehead. Alexander was no longer recognizable. Everything on his body was shaping into something horrific.

Just as easily as he murmured her name loosely coming from within his lips Vera's face met his as she winced, feeling every ounce of his pain. They were equivalent forces of the same soul, it was inevitable almost how every ounce of emotions he felt would project onto her without warranty or warning.

"Vera." Heidi whispers as she began to cry herself. She notices how the girl's eyes began to glow with her gaze fixated onto her transitioning mate. They were the color of his.

An esteemed sanguine red.

Alexander couldn't help but whine as Vera places her hands across his chest. Slight purring noises coming from herself, Heidi does nothing but observe in utter appall. Vera began to comfort and mold perfectly into his dismantling figure. And she couldn't help but to think how rawly imperfect yet compatible they were.

They were sick

Alexander groans and growls, wishing for an undying relief of pain. Internally did he beg this hell to subside but the agony refused to lessen. His hands were replaced by paws as his tormented bellow became a howl. His wolf struts his legs as he stretches. Once overtaken by anger Alpha is snarling even in his wolf form. But what Vera notices is far more startling. Her eyes widen to the size of saucers

The wolf she sees is midnight dusk black, far from the brown beast she had previously seen; encountered in the forest. Her hands overlap over her mouth in innocent shock when the wolf stands to his full height. This one was much larger, bigger and even the muscles on him were enormous. Bigger than any horse, damn near the size of a car.

So this was his the creature she'd been dreading to see. How even the legends had failed him. Far more picturesque than the photographs or books could describe.

Who was that wolf she had previously saw in the woods? That had comforted her, swarmed her with delicacy and warmth. Pivoted her inside of a warm loving coat.

Vera stands to her feet nearing Alexander when he lets out a warning growl daring her to keep her distance. He takes off into a sprint sharply but advocated by grace, so fast before Vera could reject his proclamation. Running out of the manor with his claws scratching the floors beneath him. It was more than evident that he had wanted to be alone.

When Heidi is sure that Alexander is out of sight she hesitates to say anything but submissively she comes to stand aside Vera, who was violently shaking. "I want to know everything," Heidi facepalms herself once Vera turns towards her with bloodshot eyes. "Now."

But something within Vera began to disperse and grow that it stopped all the blood that rushed throughout her veins. Something had awoken and leeched off of her mate's energy and purged all of rational senses. It was ill-fated with its own identity.

She fell to her side as Heidi clutches her mouth with her hand, Vera's irises became clouded by tears, her bones were decapitating physically becoming broken under tight compacted skin that attempted to keep the beast in.

That's when she realized it.

She were shifting for the first time.

A deep mustered moan sprouted from between her mouth even while she bit on her crimson-colored lips. Blood was spilling from her insides while she held her stomach tightly before she began to fall against the nearest wall for support. She was crumbling,

Breaking, and her vision was blurred by deeming scarlet.  "Heidi," She whimpered.

Although Vera could feel the fiery tears bolting from her eyelids she couldn't see them because momentarily she grew blind. "Help me, Heidi!" She cried aloud while her bones began to reconstruct themselves.

She crawled to a piece of broken glass scattered around the floor where she glared at herself threw its reflection. Her smoothen hair that had previously laid flatly on the top of her head began to spread; becoming frizzy as did the hair on her arms and legs, alongside her chest that became fuzzy like an animal's did. Vera pleaded and begged, she even prayed as she had fallen into the shards of glass slicing her face as her actions became controlled and willed by a force she couldn't describe.

She winces, covering her face out of her pure embarrassment, she hadn't wanted anyone to see her like this and yet she felt like everything was out of her hands. Before scratching the shards from her fleshy skin that decayed and felt crammed by the bones, which pushed at her tissue.

She knew this would be the start of something different, new, and god she wasn't ready.

"Vera, what is happening to you." Vera squinted her ass at the distressed Heidi who only gazed at her with a hint of surprise, and... fear?

Suddenly the screams of Vera invaded her ears while the brunette-haired girl whined, murmuring something about a release. "Vera...you're-" Heidi attempted to say but a growl had rung from the depths of Vera's chest that was so ear-deafening that Heidi had hunched over, nearly falling beside her.

"Changing," Vera screamed repeatedly.

Easily trying to gather herself Heidi pushed through the waves of anger that Vera was emitting, her heartbeat had picked up a pace that skyrocketed so suddenly. Everything about her grew unsteady, she had grabbed the side of Vera's cheek where she swiped away a single tear that escaped from her emptying irises.

Vera blinked more tears away as the pain intensified even more. Looking into her eyes, Heidi mouthed in a whisper. "They're just like his." An expression Vera couldn't decipher invaded Heidi's face as she took in the glory of Vera's shift that was menacing and taking over.

In about another thirty minutes the shift would be complete, then would this be all over from its peak but what Vera was transitioning into turned a lot more horrifying by the second. "What?" Vera cried as she finally accepted the creature that buried itself within her marrow bones, shaping its way in the wake of destruction. "What is it!" She demanded to know, she felt she had the right to know.

"Your irises," Heidi began as she nodded her head almost positive, sure about herself in what she'd say next. "They're just like his."

Time had shifted as it rang overhead, signifying that the clock has discernibly struck twelve in the morning. Breaking dawn clothed in a blood moon of nature, reigning in the ferocity of beasts.

The Malediction has reached all new heights that changes the entirety of everything, and that single thought captivated Vera's mind completely, even while she gazed into components of discarded sharped pieces, revealing her crest-shaped, moon haven, cherry for eyes.

They were these glittery, florid eyes that were deeming and mischievous at the same time.

Wolffish lips smiled at her promising fables of fortune and wrongdoing.

Vera's optics began to roll like fading light streams to the back of her head as the white had overtaken all of her vision, before Heidi could blink again, the dusk-haired girl was no longer there, being replaced by something more discharged and unnatural.

It was feral, watching the transit of Venus with beady eyes.

She was beast.
