"Dio, she's beautiful." Dante murmured to himself. Gio chuffed beside him as though he has spoken to his dog. Dante on the other hand was still interested in memorizing the shape of Sophia's body and how it moved. It was quite a sight, who could blame him? Really.
Thsi was going to be a fun night.
"Are you coming?" Sophia called over her shoulder.
Those eyes of hers glittered.
Dante darted forward saying, "How could I say no?"
As Sophia headed towards the entrance of the restaurant, she took in the beauty of the place, despite the late time, the place still stood up with blaring lights. The glass doors were decorated with an abstract design of vines and flowers. To her right, there was a large bronze statue with a lady whose face was perfectly symmetrical. The lady had nothing on except for clothes that were carefully draped on her legs.
Moving inside the restaurant, she noticed that there was a fireplace that was carefully constructed with an emerald coloured marble. The entire waiting area was decorated with flowers.
Sophia stood stunned, "Wow!" Taking in the entire interior again. "I thought we were coming in for snacks. I don't think hamburgers are being sold here." Sophia said.
Adorning the walls, was a mural of young women dressed in elegant dresses and men in expensive tuxedos. Behind them was a city filled with light. Overall, the colors of the mural were very muted, yet it conveyed a joyous jazz theme.
Dante placed his hands on her lower back and ushered her inside, Looking down at herself, Sophia frowned, "Dante, I don't think I'm dressed for this place."
Dante smirked, "No need for that bella, you're perfect."
Dante ushered her to a table that was at the back, it looked private. They could easily see others but they couldn't be spotted. "Care for a drink?" Dante asked as they took their seats.
"Whatever you want, they can make." He said.
"Actually, just whiskey would be great." Dante couldn't stop the groan that came of his mouth, "A woman after my heart- Damn." He said making Sophia laugh, her laughter came out sweet and very sexy. "I'm full of surprises actually."
A woman approached their table, grinning widely. She was dressed in a corporate clothes and had a tag attached. At the sight of one of his favorite people, Gio wagged his stubble tail again. There were definitely heads that turned at the sight of Gio walking into the restaurant.
"Hey boss," Flora greeted.
"And there he is," Flora said, grinning. "Guess what I've got for you, Gio? Guess."
The pit bull answered the waitress back with a loud woof. It sent a man sitting on a chair a few seats down jumping out of his seat with wide eyes. The sight made Dante laugh under his breath, but just as quickly, he glanced down at his dog. "Like you're not spoiled enough, huh?" he asked Gio.
The dog was quick to move to Flora, eager to get on with his walk and probably play a game of fetch. Dante turned to Sophia, "We should also order something to eat. Only the best for the best." Dante winked at Sophia, making her blush.
He raised a hand to signal one of the waiters. "Get me a little serving of each of everything on the menu." Dante ordered.
Sophia's eyes bulged out, "That's too much, we probably won't finish that."
Dante only shrugged, "Don't worry about about." Waving his hands in the air.
"So, you performed so beautifully tonight. I didn't know you sing."
"Well, it's not something I really do that often anymore." Sophia casted her haze down.
"Anymore?" He questioned. "You mentioned something about your past when you performed." Dante continued to question her.
Sophia let out a little laugh, "Wow, you're just jumping right into it. I thought we were meant to play twenty questions first?"
Dante gazed intensely at Sophia, "I'm a man that gets straight to the point and yes I would want to know more about you."
"If that's the case Dante, let's start with you. What exactly is it that you do, huh? Don't think I didn't notice you with that man that works with the mob in my bar." Waving her fingers at him.
"You have a keen eye, how do you know about that guy though?" Dante asked.
"I'm not stupid Dante, this is Chicago. The city of crime. Do you really think that someone like that would be conducting business in my bar and I wouldn't know?" Sophia arched a brow at Dante.
The ends of his lips pulled up in a smirk, she's smart. He thought.
"Hmm," Dante uttered, downing his drink at a go.
"Ok, let's not talk about that, you mentioned twenty questions right? We can do that. You know, the basic things about each other. Favorite colour and all that shit."
Gesturing at her, "You can even go first." Sophia smirked, "Are you sure about that?"
"I could even ask about embarrassing moments?"
Narrowing his eyes at her, "Well, don't push it too much, I have some pretty bad ones that I wouldn't want anyone to find out."
Sophia rolled her eyes, "Oh, come on! It can't be that bad."
"Ok then, I'll start. What's your favorite colour?" Sophia asked
"That's easy, Black!" Dante answered.
"I really don't understand why some people think black is a colour. Choose something other than black." Sophia said.
Dante leaned towards the table, "Green."
"Green? Why?" Sophia asked.
"Because Green represents the sign of life, the fact that the world can still be serene even in all of the chaos. The meadows, the plants and all of that shit."
"Wow, I actually never thought of it that way." Sophia said.
Dante shrugged, "Ok, my turn. Would you rather have endless money or endless love?" Dante asked.
Sophia looked taken aback my that question, reason being that she tried love before and look at where that had gotten her. She landed in Chicago of all places, abandoning her career and everything she ever cared about. But, she knew the answer within her.
She sighed before she answered, "Endless love."
