Chapter 34 - Addy and Gabe

Adriana, Sophia's roommate carted down her trolley, shopping for the groceries that they needed at home. She checked her list and figured that she had everything except for one last thing. Her favorite brand of ice cream, God knows she needs that in the coming months especially with her on and off boyfriend tugging her heartstrings like she's a guitar.

She went down to the aisle that stocked the ice cream and noticed that there was only one last tub of the ice cream. Adriana walked fast to were it was kept, so that she could grab the last one before someone else does. Just as she was about to take it, another hand just grabbed the ice cream.

"What the hell?" Adriana shrieked. She was about to give the person a piece of her mind, she looked up, to see that it was a huge guy, who stood several inches taller than her with messy brown hair and blue eyes. He looked smug about what he had just done. It was clear that she was the one that was about to take the last bowl.

She didn't allow that to deter her, she grew up with brothers that were bigger than her and had always wanted to make her life a living hell, she knew how to fight back and stand her ground.

She faced the guy head on, "Excuse me mister, I was clearly about to grab the last bowl."

He smirked, "Ok? I took it first. So there's nothing to talk about." He said, turning around to go. But, Adriana wasn't having any of that, she tugged at guy's shirt.

He turned around, not expecting her to act this way. "I'm sorry sir but I can't let you go just like that. Please drop the ice cream first."

Gabriel, Dante's right hand man and friend. He stared down at the petite woman who wouldn't let him go just because he grabbed the last bowl of ice cream. It was his sister's favorite and he had always moved the heavens just to satisfy her.

He couldn't remember the last time when someone confronted him like this. He really wanted to get this for his sister. She had a fit the last time he couldn't get it for her.

He folded his arms, making his muscles bulge which Adriana's eyes went to. He didn't miss the way her eyes looked him over. "And what if I don't?"

She took a step to him, and looked up at him, "Well, I'm just going to have to take it." Adriana moved to grab the ice cream from his cart so fast. It took Gabriel by surprise. It had been so long since someone had actually surprised him like that.

She dropped the ice cream in her cart and ran fast to the counter. Gabriel only stood there stunned. There was no way his sister would believe that a petite woman had managed to outsmart him.

While they were helping Adriana pack her things, she looked back, smiled and gave the middle finger to Gabriel.

"Who is this chick?" He muttered under his breath.

Adriana got home exhausted, falling face on the couch. "Hey," Sophia greeted.

"How was shopping?" She asked.

"Urghh, don't even ask me about that. I met a guy..." Adriana said, raising her head from the couch.

Sophia arched her brows amd gave a teasing smile, "A guy?"

"No, no, no. I meant a guy who thinks he could just take advantage of me, because I'm a petite woman. I was just about to grab the last bowl of my favorite ice cream and he just swooped in from nowhere and took it." Adrian scowled, as she remembered what had transpired.

"Wow, oh no. You would have died without the ice cream." Sophia mocked Adriana.

Grabbing the cushion and throwing it at Sophia, who ducked making her laugh. "Anyways, I was able to grab the bowl from his cart. Yeah, jokes on him. He didn't see that coming." She smiled.

"I just knew that you're a big oaf. I mean did he look like the type to take ice cream? For all you know he was getting it for his mother or child or someone." Sophia said.

Adriana frowned, "Uhh, when you put it like that....."

"But you should have seen his face when I checked out, it was hilarious. Of course I couldn't go out with a bang. I gave him the middle finger." She laughed at the thought of his face.

Sophia shook her head at Adriana, sometimes she could act up like a kid.

"I have a date with Brad tomorrow." Adriana suddenly announced.

"Brad? Again? I thought that boat had finally capsized." Sophia said, as she sat down across the chair from Adriana.

"Nope, you know how we are..." Adriana said.

Sophia gazed at Adriana, "Addy, I really don't know why you put yourself through this. You deserve more than an on and off girlfriend. You deserve true love and a guy that would treat you right. Someone that would make you go crazy and would love you as much as he makes you crazy. Someone that would break you and put you back together." Sophia said.

Adriana sighed, "Sophia, I think you're talking about yourself but yeah, I get where you're coming from. I really understand. Don't worry I hope for the best myself."

"Now, enough talk about all these love nonsense and what do you say about hitting the new club that just opened downtown. I heard that it's fucking epic."

"Club? Naa, not my scene anymore." Sophia disagreed.

"Come on, Sophia. Live a little. Let's have some fun ok. I can't go to the club alone. I need a wingwoman."

Sophia rolled her eyes, "Alright, it depends on how I feel when I wake up tomorrow."

Adriana pointed at Sophia, " Don't worry Sophie, you'll be feeling all dandy by tomorrow."

"Now, check out what I got at the store today."
