Many weeks into her research with Dr Tsukimi, he came to meet her in secret with a look of worry on his face.
He hesitated for a while and then spoke. "I need your help…"
Alyssia calmly observed him and realised that perhaps something big was happening. "What has happened?"
Dr Tsukimi was well aware of Alyssia's capabilities after she had spent a lot of time by his side progressing at a fast speed but what he wanted was instead her other abilities that he estimated to be very high judging from how often she trains and the harsh training she regularly endures which is far beyond the capabilities of a normal human physique.
He took a deep breathe and explained. "Well.. where to start? Hmm… during Vegapunk's younger years you can imagine that he gained quite the following and support from those on the island. After he left, everyone was grateful for all he had done and all that he tried to do… or so everyone believes. Where there are those who were grateful there will also be those who were left behind and felt bitter and angry over his decision to leave."
Alyssia looked at the old man opposite her and asked. "So.. what does the current problem have to do with that?"
The old man sighed. "Those left behind were followers or supporters of Vegapunk as he went on to further explore the world and expand his knowledge and research… the problem is that he later had to join the World Government and brought the Marines to our island. Those groups who were bitter over being left behind were even more angry over this change so formed their own scientific union or alliance that was separate from the countries main scientific alliance."
Alyssia asked. "So are they causing problems or do they have some kind of plot which will take place soon? What is their groups goal?"
If this was the case then there must of been something big that happened which was either covered up or was prevented from happening by the Marines before it became a big thing.
Something so big being ignored and not being mentioned during the story could only mean that whatever they had planned would end up failing and the citizens did not know about it.
They fully believed that everyone was truly grateful to Vegapunk and did not know about the things that went on in the darkness.
Dr Tsukimi sighed. "The group is built from their combined resentment towards Vegapunk, although many of them have the aim to surpass him and do what he could not. Some others have more destructive goals, the leader of the group is a cyborg and has a more destructive goal than the others. He hopes to remove the Marines by force even if it means blowing up a building with many people inside… he also covets Dr Vegapunk's scientific research and blueprints hoping to finish what Vegapunk had started and failed to complete. However the way he is going about it is too destructive and will bring harm to many others, my student is also a part of the group now so I was able to learn some things about them. I would have told the Marines about this but once I have done so… there will be much bloodshed and my student will be caught between this battle."
Alyssia nodded. "I understand but how can I help exactly?"
Dr Tsukimi replied. "Many of them wish to enhance their abilities and have big dreams just as Vegapunk did but they have chosen the wrong person to lead them. Even if their leader is a skilled man, underneath his appearance and abilities is a dark personality. I wish for you to join this group while you are learning with me and try to gain power within, I believe that many can still be saved. They just need another role model, one that will let them dream bigger and lead them down a brighter path than what they are walking down. There are many bright talents belonging to my country, I do not wish for them to end in this way."
She calmly looked at him and shook her head. "I do not believe I am at the stage to inspire others but I will try. If anything I can only try to enhance my abilities enough to be able to count on me, if they make a move then I can try to stop it before anything happens."
Dr Tsukimi patted her shoulder with a kind face. "Thank you, I will introduce my student to you soon. He has been too busy with the unions business recently to show his face."
What she did not mention was that her abilities were already progressing quickly, on board her ship she had begun working on the legs of the man who almost had his legs cleanly removed and could no longer walk.
The internal parts had already been built and were ready to be applied to his body.
Once they were in place, additional modifications like adding weapons to the structure and changes to outer shell could be made when it needs upgrading or suffers any damage and needs repairing.
Although she spent many nights absorbing mechanical and weaponised science knowledge from many different sources like Franky, Judge and the people of Baldimore, she still had the system that could construct blueprints and different concepts from the combined skills at a level that she was capable of completing the work.
She had also been monitoring the situation with the two women that had become surrogates for the two lifeforms that she had completed and continued to study during each stage of the growth.
Even the idea of creating a living mechanical life form with the addition of her Automata would not be something impossible so long as she continued studying and gaining experience under Dr Tsukimi.
The addition of the Dial technology and Pop Green was something that could be used in various creative ways too so she could surpass many scientists on this island if she combined many of her skills together and produced something to compete against their current scientific achievements.
As she left Dr Tsukimi's home, she headed back to her ship where she met up with those on board.
Nica was busy tinkering with the advanced scientific weaponry knowledge that Alyssia passed on to her while making some final final modifications to the weapons belonging to herself and Alyssia.
Her sniper rifle had been given a new design improving its power and the way it fires bullets along with what is fired from it.
Usually small circular bullets would be fired from many of the guns but there are also many other special guns and bullet types in the world but Alyssia provided blueprints that used a different way of firing without the use of gunpowder and would have a metal casing that would take the impact and break off in flight to reduce the damage to the projectile.
Two designs were provided to produce a sniper with armour piercing rounds and an electromagnetic shotgun that had some extra settings on it letting the guns firepower be adjusted and be set to fire single shots or rapid fire five shots.
Instead of ordinary ammo, coins would be used as ammo and upon being fired on a lower setting it could inflict a lot of harm to someone but not kill them unless fired at more vulnerable parts of the body.
On the higher settings, although it was not as powerful as the sniper rifle it was still capable of causing great harm to a person's body, being fired on rapid fire within a large group would cause a great amount of injury to many others and possibly kill others.
Unlike the sniper bullets, the coins could be used again so long as they were not damaged upon coming into contact with something tough.
Alyssia also had another weapon in mind for to be installed on the front of back of the ship but she needed further mastery over her skills to be able to build something capable of producing so much destructive power.
Much like the Thousand Sunny's Gao Cannon at the front and Burst from the back, Alyssia hoped to upgrade her ships firepower and its ability to escape.
Although the ship was sturdy and was serving her well, modifications were needed to be made to keep up to the ship that was being built in Water Seven so she planned on introducing more technology and protective steel plating to it to make it more durable and deadly.
On the other hand, opposite to the railgun electromagnetic scientific research that Nica was focussed on and learning step by step, Alyssia's own weapon was reaching completion using magnetic forces in her staffs, allowing her to use her Electro more smoothly with her scythe blades and add additional features to them.
Most of the time whether it was her own research or just going anywhere, she often had a certain small creature following behind her and sticking close.
Little Li had grown very attached to her and rarely left her side after a long time spent together.
Over the weeks, many breakthroughs had been made and some things had even been completed like her scythe blades and her ERG2 but they were still far from reaching what would be considered perfection but there were things like the Germa Raid Suits which were still out of reach for her.
However, she was able to develop a prototype version that came without the can design which could be used as clothing or attachments but it was not capable of being stored within the can and put on when needed.
While on the island, to deal with various environments she began producing a piece of clothing that protects the body and provides resistance to heat, cold and other elements.
Little Li became the first test subject for that and was now dressed up in a space suit type of design that provided her the ability to go to space or underneath the water without drowning but also protected her from various diseases or poisonous substances or gases.
The body suit was designed to protect her from gunfire and the elements, the position where her claws are was a gap allowing her to still be able to scratch and hold onto people or things when climbing and the helmet was adjustable to be sealed when in a dangerous environment or to retract to allow her to bite onto something or someone.
Although it was not a perfect final product, it was able to protect her from ordinary gun fire and weaker attacks with various types of weapons.
Although Alyssia had not met this cyborg, she believed that so long as he was not too advanced to the level of Queen, Kuma and Franky then she or even her own cat would be able to handle him with ease.
