Chapter 75 - A month of warfare

Another month was spent on Kano as the crew settled there and begun to pick up new bits of knowledge and digest what they had learned.

Medea had shown some improvements to her health and Tristan continued to give her some treatments and set up a plan for her to follow to allow her a smoother physical and mental recovery.

Tristan buried herself in medical books from the previous island and from Kano so she was kept very busy between treating Medea.

Alfred continued to gather any needed supplies and played the diplomat or negotiator for the crew whenever there were people who wished to find out about the ships crews goals or what they had to offer to others.

After a little negotiation and bargaining with the blacksmith, many if the parts had been made and he was showing signs of wishing to join the crew but the crew had also managed to recruit a tailor for the ship.

The tailor had the dream to travel to different countries and see their styles and designs but also become inspired by them to design her own brand of clothing.

The blacksmith had a rather simple wish or dream upon joining the crew and that was to have his boredom relieved, at least he believed that the various crew members were interesting enough but their blueprint designs also interested him.

Him and Nica spent a lot of time together while she was working on various projects and was able to make some suggestions on how to improve the stability or toughness of certain parts without sacrificing something else to do so.

Archie was busy studying up on various ship designs and any books related to building various types of transportation so he was happy to assist Nica if she needed help assembling anything or lifting anything heavy.

Carrot and Clifford had later joined Alyssia in the war efforts to gain more experience since they had too much time on their hands between practice, eating and sleeping.

Meanwhile on the sea about an hours sailing distance away from Kano…

Many navy men and women were dressed in their countries official uniform as they began to open fire at the Kano ships once again.

These ships had been using hit and run tactics to constant lure the Happo Navy further out to sea when suddenly they turned back and begun to confront the ship Alyssia, Carrot and Clifford were on with the help of several other ships.

In an attempt to not be caught up in heavy cannon fire the ship turned around to flee but they continued to give chase while firing cannon balls at the ship one after another.

At this time, Alyssia and Carrot jumped in front of the oncoming cannon balls and kicked them away from the ship to reduce the damage one after the other.

While she had grown used to this routine during the past couple of weeks, Alyssia was growing tired of the enemies tactics to attempt to sink their ship and defeat her while she in in the water.

After kicking away many cannon balls that may of caused a lot of damage, she found that the movements were recognised as another skill.

Upon reading the skill name, she began to understand why the system had given her the skill..

The skill name was Foot Ball which would be tied to various sports that use the feet to dribble, pass, shoot, flick up, volley and juggle a ball like in football (soccer) and rugby (football) and other foot based sports so she quickly added that to her White Leg Style to improve the versatility but also her ability to handle other situations like dealing with cannon fire or other types of projectiles that could be deflected away from herself or her crew but also send them back to the enemy.

Much like Garp's use of throwing cannon balls at enemy ships like a baseball pitcher, this also allows Alyssia to counter such attacks and also possibly fire longer range attacks if it is required using whatever was in her surroundings or smaller metal balls.

As she gained more and more experience, her mastery was rising quickly and so was her various other skills.

The disguise of using the ERG1 paid off and allowed all three of them to decimate every battlefield they stepped upon while using Electro to boost their speed while not too obviously revealing that they were using Electro.

Even if their race was revealed it might not trigger any problems within Kano since Chinjao already knew the truth of the matter but outside it may still be a cause of concern that a Mink or group of Minks were getting involved in a dispute between countries but also tipping the scales of victory towards one side.

With the rising casualties of war during this time, Tristan had also been allowed to gain more experience when the ships arrived back in Kano so although she did not get to experience what the three of them had, she was still involved in some way.

The ship continued to retreat as Alssia, Carrot and Clifford continued to attack the incoming cannon balls.

The ship finally was getting closer to Kano after being chased by many ships when suddenly a large fleet showed up and began to support her this time.

The fight quickly took a turn for the better and moved into a close battle after exchanging cannon fire once again.

Behind Alyssia were several people who were casually dressed up in martial artists garbs and attire while some wielded various types of weapons.

Upon hearing about her feats, many of the teachers, masters or students within the Martial Halls began to wish to assist her so they begged to come along.

During the battles, the three Minks did a good job keeping them alive and with few injuries but the various people had some skill of their own in order to help them survive each time and each time the casualties were drastically reduced.

Upon having a close confrontation, Alyssia moved to take out their riflemen and shooters quickly while Carrot and Clifford guarded the ship from those who tried to climb on board and assisted those helping out on board the ship to do the same.

Very quickly Alyssia moved towards the captains position and appeared before him to kill him but suddenly the man had a strange look of relief and acceptance in his eyes as he seemed to welcome his incoming death that was also mixed with a hint of urgency and panic.

Suddenly he pressed something in his hand that looked like a detonator and a strange gas spread on board the ship.

As soon as this happened Alyssia retreated upon seeing the detonator in his hand and passed by several people who were putting on gas masks that they had hidden away and threw them towards her ship. "Its a gas weapon! Wear a mask quick before it spreads to you or get somewhere safe where it cannot reach you."

One after another she moved through the enemy ship and stole mask after mask and threw them to her own ship.

Those on board the enemy ship began to breathe in the toxic gas and held their throats so tight that scratch marks began to appear on their skin as they tried to gasp for air.

Many of the enemy ship quickly died due to the gas and Alyssia's ship was fast enough to avoid any casualties as it steered away.

Alyssia looked at the many dead people who had given up so many of their lives just for to take her or her people down and frowned.

She took out a transponder snail and soon after a 'kacha' sound was heard. "Reporting in, the enemy has been subdued. They are desperate enough to use gas or poison weapons so make sure that you are prepared for anything that they try."

Chinjao, Boo, Sai, Uholisia and Chichilisia responded one after another. "Got it."

Little did she know was that the panic and desperation she had caused to the captain of that ship had triggered an early detonation so she was partly responsible and lucky enough to be able to inform the others early and save many lives.
