"Kid, we'll all have a share!"
The leader expressed his thoughts thinking Seth was worried there wouldn't enough meat.
Obviously they would share with Seth who was considered the leader, at least in name.
However, Seth didn't plan on having any of this human.
In fact, he had a desire to save her.
He had a feeling he should save one of his kind.
But... Seth is a zombie.
His thoughts conflicted with each other and he ultimately decided to save her.
Seth sprinted towards the human like a leopard hunting a prey.
His speed was ridiculously fast.
As he sped up and passed his group, he grabbed the lone zombie who was lusting with hunger.
Seth's sharp bone fingers dug into the head of the lone zombie and crushed it like a soft fruit.
Pieces of brain and bone splashed all over.
The group behind who had caught up were speechless.
This kid was so powerful and fast?
But they weren't even shocked by Seth killing a fellow zombie, it was common to kill each other for prey.
The leader was first to speak.
"Haha! Kid, you must be starving"
The woman fell on the floor as the scene of a weird zombie killing her hunter was too much for her.
She slumped on the floor with lost hope.
'It's over... everything is over' she thought.
Tears dripped on the floor as she gave up hope and accepted she was going to be eaten alive.
The hallway that was connected to the main reception area echoed with her silent sobbing.
This woman seemed a bit older than Seth, almost like an older sister.
Seth was already in his early 20s so she would be in her late 20s.
Just as Seth's group was about to lung into this delicious meal, Seth stopped them.
"Wait! Don't touch her!"
The trio looked at Seth with a bit of anger.
Was he implying this human was all for him?
The trio had learnt Seth's name but always called him 'Kid', but this time the leader directly called him Seth.
"Seth, I know you're hungry but don't bite off more than you can chew, literally"
The leader shook his head thinking Seth was a bit greedy.
"No, you're mistaken"
???
"What do you mean?"
The trio looked puzzled.
Watching the zombies snarling at each other, the woman thought maybe she could run away.
But the thought quickly disappeared as she realized its a short hallway and they were barely a meter away.
Seth approached her, causing her to tremble in fear.
As he stood next to her, her scent caused him to almost lung into her throat himself.
He also noticed behind the tears and ruined makeup, the woman was considered a beauty.
'Shit, I didn't think humans would smell like this...'
It wasn't the scent of living flesh that caused him to almost lose control, it was more of a switch.
A switch that once he smelled humans, the strongest desire would unleash to lung his teeth into flesh.
Staggering a step back, Seth had a bit of trouble composing himself.
He opened his mouth full of razor sharp teeth and spoke in English.
"What's your name?"
Hearing a language she knew, a quick emotion of hope appeared in her heart.
But then she realized the voice came from this zombie in front of her.
It was quickly replaced with immense shock.
"Y-you can talk?"
Gathering the courage to speak, she decided to give him her name.
"M-my name is Lucy..."
Only now did she realize this zombie was very special, he somehow looked more human than zombie if you ignored his fingers.
Seth nodded as the trio behind him were confused.
Then it dawned on them that this kid wanted to save her.
The leader gave out a sigh.
"Seth, I know you are a special one but saving humans is a taboo"
"Seth, I'll warn you that this can bring you a lot of trouble..."
The underlings nodded at the leaders words.
For the sake of Seth being special and useful to them, they held back on lunging at her.
Seth shook his head and made up an excuse on the spot.
Although he had a feeling he could wipe out this trio, they were useful for the time being.
"She'll be useful, trust me"
Seth casually explained his plans.
It was for her to lure more survivors into a trap, that way they could eat more.
After being enlightened, the trio nodded with approval.
"Hah, that's right!"
"Yes, we almost forgot you can speak like them"
"Forgot? He's been speaking English the whole time!"
"Shit! Haha, you're right!"
The trio laughed with evil intentions.
The problem was that they had more trouble holding their urges to take a bite than Seth.
The young woman looked at Seth in fear as he explained what she would be used for.
They were expecting her to betray her own kind and lure them into a trap?
She bit her lips as slight anger built up in her.
A moment ago she was clinging onto her life, hoping for anything to save her.
But now she'd rather die than be used like a tool.
But something caught her eyes the next moment.
Seth winked at her while making sure the trio didn't see it.
Thoughts ran through her mind.
'He's trying to save me?'
The next moment.
*BANG*
The sound of a car exploding could be heard from the reception area.
Seth and the trio looked at each other as if they understood it was time to leave.
They would have to somehow escort this human to a safer place first.
Seth took out two shirt from his bag and ripped it up easily.
He made a makeshift mask for everyone.
It barely masked the human scent from the woman but it was better than nothing.
The odd group of zombies and a lone human walked into the reception area.
Lucy obediently followed them as she realized Seth wanted to help her.
Her steps were filled with fear but she didn't delay.
Entering the reception area, they encountered a few other zombies.
But Seth easily took care of them.
As they rushed towards Lucy, Seth either crushed their skulls like fruit or directly cut their head off with his sharp fingers.
It was instinct for him to be able to fight like this.
The messy reception area was now empty.
Dead bodies littered the floor, both human and zombies.
The smell lingering in the air was very pleasant to Seth and the trio.
But obviously the smell of death made Lucy gag.
They walked towards the entrance door made of glass that was half shattered.
Lucy stood in one spot while they surveyed outside.
"Hmm, there's quite a lot of us out there"
"Agreed Boss, maybe we should just eat her and find another human on the way"
The leader looked at his underling and almost agreed when Seth spoke.
"No, this human is a beauty, she'll easily attract others for us"
The trio looked back at Lucy and pondered.
"Hmm, we didn't notice because we naturally wouldn't care about what food looks like... but you're right"
The trio nodded and decided to think of a plan.
"Let's cover her scent and form a circle around her as we walk pass them"
Seth gave his idea which the trio agreed to.
"But where are we heading?"
An underling raised a good question.
"Let's go to the university, they have a good defence meaning there will be lots of people trapped in there"
"As long as we're smart we can sneak in"
The trio agreed to Seth's plan.
Seth walked back to Lucy while the trio kept a lookout at the entrance.
Seth explained what he planned with the trio and she seemed hesitant.
But Seth took this opportunity to tell her he'll think of a way to save her.
"Why are you helping me?..."
Lucy looked at Seth with bitter eyes.
Seth understood he had no reason to save her, but something inside him told him that it was the right thing to do.
He made up an excuse as he couldn't explain properly.
"You look like my sister"
Seth smiled for once as he patted her shoulder.
Lucy looked at this smile that seemed to be saying the truth.
She nodded and calmed down a bit.
But the truth was that Seth really did have a sister who looked like Lucy.
Thinking about his sister, he wondered if she was safe or even alive.
It had only been a few days since the outbreak so it was still possible.
Lucy noticed his pained expression and understood he was thinking of his sister, she wanted to comfort him.
Comforting a zombie? Had she gone insane?
She shook her head and said a few words of encouragement.
Seth could only smile bitterly and give a slight nod.
He grabbed a zombie corpse on the ground and dragged it by the collar towards Lucy.
He pulled the intestines and flesh out of the zombie and smeared it all over Lucy's clothes and skin.
Lucy flinched during the whole process and tried not to vomit.
The smell was unbearable.
Removing the mask on his face, Seth sniffed at Lucy like a dog.
Lucy felt a bit embarrassed but didn't mind it.
After confirming the scent had disappeared they proceeded to walk towards the entrance.
But at this moment, Leon and the underlings had a serious expression.
They didn't say anything but instead pointed at the problem.
A huge 4 meter zombie.
