Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: Time is a bastard

(A/N:)

(Memory Fantasy Manifestation>>> Memory Fantasy Embodiment) it's just the same so don't be confused.

Time is an asshole.

When people aren't looking, it tends to leak out in a flash, so fast that one by one, several children's lives move on to the next stage before one is even ready.

Primary school, secondary school, university ...

A few children have become adults.

After graduating from university, Clark stayed home with Mike for a month and then set off on his wanderings.

The end of his student life has left him in a state of confusion. He doesn't know what he should do next or what he came to do on this planet, so he sets out to find himself and his future.

Mike knows things about Clark, like Clark's history, like Krypton, like the ship at the South Pole ...

But after some hesitation, he didn't tell Clark directly.

It was not just the answers to these questions that Clark wanted, but the process of growing in his search to become less confused and less skeptical of himself.

The process is much more important than the answers.

Besides, if Mike had told Clark now, Clark would have gone straight to the South Pole and searched for the Kryptonian ship.

If the Kryptonian ship is activated, will it bring in Kryptonians, as it did in the original series?

What will happen then?

Clark was not prepared for that in his current state of mind.

So, Mike gave up.

Following in Clark's footsteps, Eric and Charles graduated, and after more than a year at the school, they even got their PhDs, and more than one.

It was early winter in 2007.

It was early winter and it was already cold.

Mike got up, took out his mobile phone, looked at the date and gave a smile.

Tomorrow, Eric and Charles would be back, but Clark, who had kept in touch during the years he had been away, had come back twice, each time for a month, but his return was unpredictable.

Walking into the kitchen, Mike made himself a simple breakfast, watched the news and sat by the window with a cup of coffee, the early winter sunlight soothing him.

As the children grew and achieved one thing or another, Mike's abilities grew as well.

It was in Clark's second year at university when he finally upgraded his powers to LV4.

If at LV3 he had received an epic enhancement, at LV4 he had received a legendary enhancement.

With a thought, Mike opened the system.

[Host: Mike Kent]

[Newbie Gift: Assassin Time]

[Ability: Memory Fantasy Embodiment]

[Upgrade Rewards.

1. Eternal Cigarette Case

2. Dimensional Pocket

3. Kryptonian blood]

[Current ability level: LV4]

[Current upgrade progress: 42%]

[Son: Clark Kent (Kryptonian)]

[Son: Eric Kent (mutant, awakened)]

[Son: Charles Kent (mutant, awakened)]

When his powers rose to lv2, Mike received a permanent item, the Eternal Cigarette Case, and could manifest skills, when he rose to lv3, Mike received a permanent skill, the Sublime Pocket. When he reached LV4, Mike received the permanent ability Kryptonian Blood.

Yes, Kryptonian blood, a bloodline that doesn't need to be embodied, but is permanent and will continue to grow as long as the sun shines.

What is strange to Mike is that he expected to receive a permanent ability as a human, but instead he received a bloodline.

However, the Kryptonian's blood and powers were no different to him, even better than the powers, because the blood was growable.

The sun gives him power, and Mike feels the thrill of hanging on to his powers.

After reaching LV4, his embodied power did not increase further, but rather the total amount of embodied power in his body increased significantly, even after reaching LV4, his embodied power increased a lot with every 1% increase in upgrade progress.

From the items at the beginning, to the skills, to the abilities, and now the ever-increasing power of embodiment, when all of this was put together, it gave Mike a strange feeling.

It was as if he had been given all of this in preparation for the powers that would come afterwards.

We'll have to wait for the upgrade to find out what powers will appear afterwards.

But the progress of the upgrade so far ...

Hey!

Mike thinks it's better if he gets more sunshine.

The sun was so nice that Mike yawned and fell asleep.

With his Kryptonian blood, Mike was getting stronger every day, and he even seemed to have stopped growing older, except for the graying of his sideburns, the wrinkles that had crept in before had disappeared.

Mike thought that if he didn't talk about it himself, he would be no different from a young man.

"Hmm?"

Mike woke up to the sound of the door opening.

A burglar?

No way, a burglar for an old father living alone like him?

Instead of using his powers to look, Mike got up and walked over.

The fact that he had Kryptonian blood.

No one knew about it, and he didn't use it much in his normal life, keeping it well hidden.

Thinking about the pain he'd gone through when he'd first awakened his powers, he understood how strong and difficult it had been for Clark as a young boy.

"Dad!"

"Dad!"

Looking at the two handsome man standing at the door, Mike was stunned for a moment, then a smile spread across his face and he said with surprise, "Why are you here already?"

He said as he walked over to them.

Eric gave Mike a hug and explained with a smile, "I finished my report today, so I rushed back."

"Haha, Dad, I want to eat your cooking!" Charles put his bags down with a look of anticipation, but then looked at Mike closely and wondered, "Dad, why do you look so young again?"

Reaching out, he cupped Mike's face and muttered, "Strange, where are the wrinkles? You didn't sneak off to get a facelift, did you?"

"Snap!"

Slapping Charles's hand away, Mike said bemusedly, "Still being so petty."

Charles laughed and put his arm around Mike's shoulders and said, "We're father and son, aren't we?".

"Ha ha!"

Mike laughed and said, "What do you want to eat, I'll make it for you."

"Sweet and Sour Pork."

The two of them had already agreed on that.

"No big deal."

Mike said and walked into the kitchen.

The two of them washed their hands, put their luggage away and went into the kitchen too, helping out and talking to Mike about the funny stories they had encountered.

In time, the family's home, which had been so cold, slowly came back to life.

The three of them worked quickly and by midnight, the food were ready.

After that, the four of them sat in the living room watching TV.

...
